At my last routine physical, I mentioned to Dr. Kastl that I had been taking 2 pills instead because it wasn't always convenient to cut them, and the difference in dosage was minimal. She agreed and officially changed my prescription to 2 pills. Six months later, when I requested a refill, I was told I had to schedule a medication check before it would be approved. I scheduled and attended the appointment, which lasted about five minutes and involved no meaningful discussion or changes to my treatment. The following week, I received a $150 bill for that brief visit. I contacted Dr. Kastl multiple times to express my concern and pointed out that, based on my understanding of Michigan law and federal guidelines, the medication I take does not require a mandatory six-month follow-up. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or showing any empathy, my messages were dismissed by simply stating "it's our policy". In this situation, patient care took a back seat to billing. After being a loyal patient for years, I was extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I will not be returning to this practice and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a primary care provider.

Poor service billing and front desk department…read more Rather than follow up with the providers telephone number to provide correct billing address, this office prefers to call the patient and tell them it's their responsibility to pay the bill and then collect the money from the medical insurer. They also asked me to contact my previous healthcare provider for my medical records as they were having difficulty with getting a response. I made one quick phone call and two days later my medical records arrived. Based on the continuous negative experiences I have experienced with the lack of responsibility , follow up and taking the easy route of passing the buck onto the patient, I would not trust this office with my health records or welfare. It's unfortunate that the office staff have to behave this way because the nurse practitioner was amazing.

This place is a money grab and that is it. You will get basic medical care, with a side of "your stupid, i am smart" attitude when you try to ask questions and advocate for your health. I have been told "park farther from grocery store door", but funny my husband was never told that.. I have asked for tests and been talked to like I am dumb to ask for them and he sees no reason for it.... but yet, after fighting for the test, i am correct when results come in, as if I don't know my body and symptoms. Once called for a sick appointment and given 3 months away date, like... ummm.. i won't be sick in 3 months. Then when I called for an iron test, did not even want to see Dr, just get blood work and then come in after results, they said they would call me back that day, took 2 days to call me back, somehow it MORPHED into an sick appointment when i just thought it was a regular appointment that week and was basically treated like crap by Dr. Margolis that i DARED take up an emergency appt..... hmmm, weird he could write in his notes they called me for appt (forgot to say 2 days later) and I was at work, so i took the next day appt, just thinking regular appointment and that I was lucky to get a close date, but then got scolded for taking other peoples time slot for an emergency, and sorry but if it was an emergency i would go to ER, and they would not have delayed calling me back 2 days late but yet jump me over taking a next day appt when they did finally call because i was at work and could not race there. I was available the day i called, weird ...no return call that day when told he was in office and would call back that day. Went once for a sick appointment for sinuses, and said i did NOT have covid, that i have had it in past and did not want a covid test, well they did two covid tests anyway, and i got a $800 bill.
