I am an elderly women and can say my return trip from Harris Park to Macquarie Private Hospital…read morefor a Consultation with a Neurosurgeon was very pleasant. Both Drivers greeted me, were nicely dressed and nicely spoken. As I was a wee bit anxious after my appointment, the driver fastened the seat belt for me. I will use this service again. Both cabs were on time and clean. Despatch person was kind as I had to adjust the return trip pickup time due to the appointment running late. 13 June 2023

If you're in need of a taxi, you'll most like be calling these guys. Obviously you can hail one in…read morethe street, but if you're in need of a pickup at a certain time then you can book over the phone or online. They can be a bit hit and miss when it actually comes to turning up, but usually they're ok if you've booked for a specific time, but if you're in a rush on a Friday or Saturday evening and you don't live in a busy area, you may be waiting a while! The drivers will usually pick the longest fare so they get the most out of it and despite it being illegal, trying to get a cab after a night out on Friday and Saturday (not to mention public holidays) can be a nightmare as the drivers look for the best fares. Also, it's best if you have a general idea of the route you want to take as some of the drivers obviously haven't looked at a map in a long while and will tend to get a bit lost if it's not an obvious location. Taxis Combined is connected to Silver Service and the other companies, so when you book with them you could end up with any of them depending on who's about your area. Oh and if you're a pedestrian about to cross at the lights and it's going red, if you see a taxi approaching, just take a step back because it's unlikely to stop until it's definitely red!

Warning to Visitors in Sydney, Australia: My Experience with GM Cabs…read more On March 11, 2025, I checked out of my hotel and was persuaded to take a GM cab. I had already booked a ride with DiDi (a rideshare service similar to Uber), but the hotel staff assured me that GM Cabs would cost about the same and was available immediately, so I wouldn't have to wait. Trusting their advice, I took the GM cab at 6:20 AM to the airport, which is 11 kilometers away. My DiDi fare was quoted at $41.00, so I expected the GM cab to cost no more than $45 at most. Upon arriving at the airport, the meter displayed $41.95. When the driver asked if I was paying by cash or card, I chose card. To my shock, I was charged $71.25 instead. I immediately emailed GM Cabs to report the issue, but to my dismay, they never responded. Warning: Avoid GM Cabs when visiting Sydney. Instead, use reputable alternatives like 13cabs, DiDi, general taxis, or public transportation.

Biggest taxi scam I've seen yet. I got in and told him my destination, he adjusted the taxi meter…read moreto 10 dollars before we took off. I asked why, he said that's the fee when using them. Then the meter was rolling so fast on the motorway but then noticed as we were at a stop at a intersection, the meter was still rolling as fast like we were on the motorway. As I got to my destination, he added another 12 dollars on top and said "that's my tip you uave to pay".....this is Australia. You can't pull stuff like that here. 150 in total for the ride. Was so mad when I got home and I compared the price if I used uber, it would've been 42 dollars on Uber. Lesson learned. No taxis for me ever. Especially gm cabs
