The point of difference is that they stock fresh juices which are damn hard to find elsewhere... so when you just gotta find FRESH (not ocean spray, or any other supermarket brand) cranberry or blueberry juice for Iggy pop within the next 24 hours Marden Health is the place to go. They cost so much it's evident they've been hand squeezed by faries... but I don't think popstars really consider financial trivialities like $40 juices.

If the 5m long menu board isn't overwhelming enough for your taste buds make sure you DO NOT LOOK at the food cabinet on the way up to making your order as it will just confuse you more. The first time I went here I was distracted by so many things on the menu that I went for the safe eggs and coriander on rye option. A bit disappointed at the cost versus size of the meal my experience was slightly tainted. But as I sipped on my Ginger Zinger drink that was like star anise and gingery lemon jesus juice in a cup I looked closer at the menu and at what people were eating. It seemed that their big pancake and their roti wraps are the way to go. Upon my return to give this place a second shot I ordered a vegetarian twist on a bacon and egg wrap and, despite a bucket load of sauce and a fair amount of oil, I was impressed. As Laura said though, aside from the Ginger Zinger, the other highlight here is the bowls of coffee they serve. Yes it is a bowl and it is filled with smooth, creamy coffee goodness for you to dip your whole face into. Also don't go past their gluten free desserts here! Their lemon curd cake is delicious.

I visit sleepy Semaphore quite a lot, as the old parent-shaped people live that way, and it was only relatively recently that I stumbled across this haven of Scandinavian delights. And I'm not just talking about the cute mustachioed barista. Complementing the birch tree wall art and Viking paraphernalia (I'm a huge sucker for Viking paraphernalia) is a tasty menu of baked goodies that are fresh, sweet and plentiful - as well as Swedish-inspired specialties like elderflower drinks and traditional waffles. Any country that has a TRADITION of waffles is all right by me. They seem to be undergoing renovations at the moment, but the place is still very cute, with kitschy Swedish accessories, some chandelier action, as well as the aforementioned radical Viking stuff. There always seems to be a queue here which is also a good sign - and, super importantly, the coffee is solid. ALSO: THEY SERVE COFFEE IN A BOWL. A bowl, people. Not only because it tastes great, but because it's a good price as well. There's another sushi bar in the mall that I love but the food is just so overpriced it's not worth it. Sushi Suki is located right in-front of Coles which makes it easy to grab a sushi after you've finished doing your grocery shopping. The best time to get sushi is after 4 o'clock because they lower the prices and you end up getting a really good discount. I recommend trying the inside out tuna roll. Absolutely delicious!

It's not a place I go to on a regular basis, but if I'm in the area and need a caffeine hit before I do a big shop at the supermarket nextdoor, it's a quite little place to enjoy a quick lunch and a coffee. The interior is casual, yet sophisticated, reminiscent of some sort of aristocratic lounge room. It's got a very relaxed atmosphere about it - a lot of people flipping through newspapers and magazines and quiet murmuring sets it apart from the hustle and bustle of other cafes. I've had a few coffees here before, and they were reasonably good. They also make fresh fruit smoothies, but the mango smoothie I tried was quite tart, so I'd exercise caution with regard to the fruits you choose. The staff is very friendly and chatty, and they can't be faulted for the excellent service. The shame about this cafe is that it has virtually no outdoor seating with the exception of one table. It's squeezed against the wall on the narrow footpath lining the store fronts, and only a few feet away from the car park. Whilst the interior is relatively nice, there is no chance of properly enjoying a coffee on a sunny day outdoors, as the number of people brushing by you and the endless cars coming in and out of the car park will really piss you off. I feel that if this cafe was located elsewhere, perhaps even on the other side of the street, it would garner a larger customer base, better ambience and an overall better experience for the patron.
