Guacamole Salad (with shrimps, tropea onions and sliced almonds)
Tania L.

I know... i should wait untill I have tried a few other items off the menu of this American (traditional) diner. However, I do believe the only potentially American thing this place truly has is the name. Contemporary, minimalist, aseptic... to wishy washy. this is a place you simply sit down, order as fast as possible, get your food with an express-order feel attached to it. Gulp it down almost without chewing, and rush to the cash register to pay and get out of dodge... Should you hesitate or try to "think a while", you have the distinct feeling your server is a fraction of a second away from catapulting you out of the door. After all, this place is ÜBER packed for lunch with businessmen/women, models, fashionistas, you real TV flavor of the second. They are constantly in a rush and service is constantly running and expressing orders. Overall, my avocado salad was not bad at all!!! My draft beer was quite nice as well. However, it lacked the IT factor, the "i wanna come back to try this, that and everything on the menu"... And, EXACTLY what American Traditional is there? Hamburgers? Fajitas? Maybe even so, but our salads were perfect for models!!! Though i liked my choices, 14€ for that salad is pretty EXPENSIVE. Word to the wiser, just look at the menu straight away, maoe your choice pronto, turn in your order and then, AND ONLY THEN, start chitchatting with your fellow meal goers... you may risk being visually lynched by your waitress if you don't. ...

French toast with crispy American style bacon!

The staff here seemed a bit snobby, so my review is solely based on the food and ambience of the restaurant. This place gets packed for brunch so make reservations! I came with a buddy on Sunday at noon and managed to sit at the bar without ressies. The restaurant reminds me of a Santa Monica farmer's market brunch. They have fresh juices! I recommend the items I got: guava, orange, and banana juice french toast with American bacon! it also comes with a side salad I also tried the florentine, which you can skip. the hash brown was a bit salty (coming from someone who has a salt tooth), the proscuitto was blah, hollandaise sauce was horrible - done wrong - so thick and fatty tasting, but the spinach was nice! I'll definitely be coming back! :)

This review is coming in a bit late, but I didn't have a very pleasant experience at this shop. I…read moregot the worst possible table (near the toilet) as I went in alone. There were actually only a couple of sofas at the entrance, so I'm not sure why it's called "sofa" cafe. The cafe itself is so cramped, it could be organized better in my opinion. As I was sitting at my table, pretty much every person who came into the shop seemed to want to use the toilet, so the line was very long and I kept bumping into each person. As for the coffee and pastry I ordered, it was just about ok, nothing special. The service was also very slow. I wouldn't recommend this place especially if you're going in alone and want to spend some time working or to read a book.

Great location- along a bustling street full of other bars and restaurants…read more Cocktails were above average. I'm quite fussy with my drinks and I must admit they were pretty well made! Not the best in the world but certainly better than the average. I would highly recommend the Moscow Donkey for a warm summers day as it was very refreshing! The only thing I would mention is the service was pretty poor. It took us about 10-15minutes to get our orders taken, and then we had to wait at least another 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive. If you're not in any rush (like us) then it's perfectly fine, but I would imagine it being quite annoying if you had somewhere to be afterwards. Overall it was above average drinks, below average service and a great relaxed ambience.

After numerous years of trips for business to Italy and Milan I finally found a place that can…read moreserve a decent cup of coffee and who actually cares about what goes into it. The people at Taglio offer a wide variety of specialty coffee from different origins and where one can select the method (V60, Aeropress etc). Execution is good but their own roast is good (don't get me wrong it totally beats anything else from Italy) but they also have coffee from other roasters. All together the coffee itself is a reason to visit but Taglio is so much more as they also serve excellent food. The pasta I had was a nice example of well-made uncomplicated food. They are also a deli so sell a lot of charcuteries and cheeses as well as other food items (tea, coffee, beverages, granola etc) The service was nice, friendly, mostly English speaking and fairly fast and they also have free wifi (however with mandatory facebook login) so a place I will visit again. Only minor drawback would be the price level - dinner easily came to €50 per head and while not super-expensive it is still a bit on the high side for more of a neighborhood place.

Taglio was a highlight of our dining experience while in Milano. The service was exceptionally…read morefriendly and pleasant. The interior was charming and spacious. The option to order brunch after noon was a wonderful surprise and most welcome to California tourists such as ourselves. We ordered the tagliere (salumi platter) and eggs Benedict. Delicious. We dined in the back room overlooking the industrious kitchen. Both male and female chefs! I highly recommend this charming, spacious restaurant/deli in the Navigli district.
