When checking out reviews, a bunch of people said to check out this restaurant and they were correct - food was good and flavorful and service was great. There are a lot of veggie and non veggie options and we got the chicken sandwich as Mediterranean salad. The meal comes with complimentary bread. The bread was really good and tasted fresh, the salad was plentiful with a variety of lettuce, tomatoes, walnuts and mozzarella, and the chicken sandwich was also plentiful and tasty. It was our first night in Italy so my expectations were high. With all the hype I have been hearing about, I was excited. We went straight to see the Duomo while singing Styx's Mr Roboto in my head, of course, but we did not know where to eat. After walking around the area for a bit, we decided to eat here. I suggested KFC beforehand, but I just got a weird stare from my love :). And, we did not want to eat at a fancy smancy place especially near the Duomo since we expect it to be a tourist trap, and I am just too cheap. Anyway, this place is very hip. It is quite small with just a few tables and chairs. Thank goodness we came here late so we had a place to sit down especially after all that walking. It is a counter service and have all their sandwiches on display. I was so thrilled to be able to taste the Italian panini. Surprisingly, a panino just means a sandwich. I thought it would be grilled pressed sandwich. I felt so silly expecting my sandwich to be grilled. Oh well. The disadvantage of being near the closing time is that the kitchen was already close. So, they could not make the panino that we wanted. Thankfully, there were still some on display. Since we were hungry, we settled on Panino 19 and Club 01. Starting with Club 01, I would not order this again just because it was not very filling. It is grilled chicken with some veggies. It was in Italian so I was not sure what it was at the moment. It was adequate, but nothing different from a chicken salad sandwich. As for the Panino 19, that was a different experience. My first thought was why in the world we do not have a sandwich like this back home. Then, my second thought was thank goodness we do not have a sandwich like this back home since I would definitely going to get fat. The bread was just superb. It has a nice crunch and hard enough to hold the contents which was layered of coppa di Parma and some parmigiano reggiano. Even though the bread was thick, the meat packs with flavor that filled my mouth with happiness. The taste was indescribable and surely this is the only time that I would be able to taste something like this. This was a great experience. However, looking back, this panino was not the the best thing we tried. It is just that food in Italy is on a different level. As for our drink, we ordered cappuccino with golden milk and cappuccino with ganoderma which is suppose to be coffee with some strange Chinese herb. I do not even know what a golden milk is, but the cappuccino turned out good. It turned the cappuccino to green. It was a weird cappuccino to look at, but it taste like one. They were different but still familiar. Overall, this place was a good choice to start out food adventure in Italy without breaking our bank. It was a wonderful experience and immediately set our expectation high. So, if you are around the Duomo and tired of fancy and expensive food, go over here and you will not be disappointed. read more

This place is close to the Duomo Galleria. Went there for a quick bite for lunch. I had the tuna #29. It was good, bread was fresh as was the tuna. I can usually tell if the fish was old. The place was small but they have outside dining. It gets packed around 1pm. Their menu is pretty extensive so I'm sure you will find what you like. I would recommend this place. read more

Milan's coffee & snack chain. Drinks are good, food is a little pricey. Stopped in twice during my weekend in Milan. Chai cappuccino (basically a chai latte) was good but small, which is pretty much how drinks go in italy. Yogurt with chocolate granola was delicious, a lot of yogurt and not a lot of granola. Just so you know, it's a chain cafeteria. That said, it's got all the pros and cons of the kind. - Working WI-FI: good; - Average cakes and croissants: not so good; - Not always welcoming staff behind the counter: not good at all; - Absence of real brewed american coffee: terrible! (at least for me!) :-) I'm kidding, actually just a few have it here, unfortunately. Had a chocolate cheesecake and a coffee. The cake was too soft, not too sweet, but just nothing special; it wasn't bad but It made me think much more to an industrial product than an artisanal one, especially compared to others. I won't wake up in the middle of the night craving for it! The coffee was ok. Been here twice, and the first one the girl at the counter was nice. Finally came to Panini Durini! after months and months of walking by the more famous shop in via Durini, me and my friends decided to have lunch here in this newer spot just steps away from the Duomo. We sat and a super nice waitress took our order from the clear and inviting sandwich menu, waiting time was fast enough considering it is a lunch spot for workers in the area and it gets really crowded (you can get your sandwich to go and eat in the beautiful and quieter Piazza Mercanti nearby if you can't find a seat). I got a n.15 (speck, spicy robiola and eggplant). It was very good but it was not enough so I ordered a muffin (they were out of the banana and chocolate so I got a whilte chocolate one), which was just OK. I decided to try the macchiato matcha I had heard so much about but I actually didn't like it - nothing wrong with it though, it's just that I think I don't like the taste of matcha and milk together... In all I ended up paying about 10 euros for my lunch (sandwich, water, muffin and macchiato), which is not cheap, but considering we are just steps from the Duomo it was OK, probably a 3-star review, to come back once in a while - but staff was so nice (even with all the chaos of lunch break) that they deserve the 4th star. read more

Decent enough quick sandwich place. We decided to pick up the sandwiches on our way to the airport, so we didn't eat them immediately. The bread was a little tough on an Italian style baguette. The mortadella was good though. Not the best, but good enough if you're in a rush. read more

Panini Durini offers great coffee and a nice variety of pastries for a fair price. They also offer some special dishes as waffles or yoghurt with dried fruits and granola for example. The quality of the products is very high and the service was very good and kind. We went to Milano for a few days and came back several times to grab a coffee and a little snack.
