Chapel of Our Lady of La Leche

Chapel of Our Lady of La Leche

What a beautiful, peaceful place! I loved coming here during our trip to St. Augustine this past…read moreweekend. The historic chapel (as well as the newer, larger chapel) are such beautiful places to pray and contemplate the image of Our Lady of La Leche. We didn't get to attend Mass or adoration here, but we came two days in a row and explored the grounds pretty thoroughly. We especially loved the Rosary garden, which has what's essentially a giant Rosary, so you can walk through as you pray. For one person in our group, it was her first time ever praying the Rosary! So the written mysteries on each Our Father "bead" were very helpful. There's also a lovely outdoor Stations of the Cross path, with the tallest cross we'd ever seen. When we looked out over the neighboring water (a bay?), we saw dolphins! While the grounds are open from 9am to 5pm, note that the museum/gift shop building (where the new chapel is) is only open from 10am-4pm. This was a bit of an issue for us because we showed up here at 4pm, then again at 9am the next morning. The gift shop has a good selection of Rosaries, prayer cards, art, and other things you'd find in a Catholic gift shop. If you are Catholic in any capacity, especially if you have a Marian devotion, you will LOVE this place! It reminded me of a much smaller, calmer, and less crowded version of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. Add this to your Catholic bucket list, or stop by if you're planning to visit St. Augustine!

Ultimately God is in control of all creation if you are a believer, .in my opinion. About this church On the Grounds: Chapel of Our Lady of La Leche - Old Town Trolley ... The Chapel of Our Lady of La Leche is a historic chapel at the Mission Nombre de Dios, St. Augustine, Florida, that houses the first shrine to the Virgin Mary in the United States. It is dedicated to the image of Mary nursing Jesus, and the site is a popular pilgrimage destination for prayers related to fertility, child health, and safe delivery. The devotion is ancient, and the current chapel, built in the Spanish mission style after a 1914 hurricane, reflects the long-standing faith of the community.

Nicholas did an absolutely fantastic job. I've recommending the shop stable where we got to see everything happening upfront Claire, who is our weight staff was courteous ever so helpful and just a pleasure to be around anything that we requested anything that we wanted to try she was more than accommodating. This chef's team I have to admit had me and all coming around checking on customers. It was an absolute pleasure to be dining in for the second time will definitely be back. I had the salmon and my son had the lamb chops and I can say without a doubt very delicious tasty more than enough and well worth whatever we paid for the venue is modern classy and chic clean and well beyond restaurants I've been to before down here. Great job.

However, it was a busy Friday night and we were not in a rush. Everyone loved their drink choices, and we enjoyed the fresh bread brought to the table with the salted butter. Getting our order in did take longer than expected, but I think the vibe of the restaurant is to enjoy yourself and your company. All of us got an appetizer and they split the escargot for my husband and I; I thought that was a really nice touch. The banana bread martini was incredible; dessert in a glass. I got the beef tenderloin. My favorite part was the potatoes; they were so unique and delicious. The beef was good as well. My husband enjoyed the duck breast. We ended the night with the blubbery soufflé. Absolutely incredible. Every staff member was wonderful and personable. They make you feel like royalty while dining. A very special evening.

The property was incredibly picturesque. The owners, Jim and Pat Tucker, were very attentive and hands-on throughout the entire evening! The get-ready room for the bride & bridesmaids was far enough from the groom and groomsmen's room that each could go outside for fresh air and not worry about seeing the other before that magical moment. Both rooms were spacious and accomodated 10 -12 people comfortably! The outhouse - look bathroom most definitely solidified the "country" feel!!! The backdrop for the wedding was on the lawn in front of the main building. It was just the right amount of space for the small(ish) wedding I was at. I'm sure there is a larger space available for bigger weddings, as well. The dance floor under the poll barn was fairly small and was also used as the space for dinner. Quick clean-up and the dance floor was instantly enlarged but that left fewer places to sit & relax for those who didn't want to dance non-stop. Although it wasn't my wedding, I definitely enjoyed being in attendance. I'd definitely recommend Tucker's Farmhouse for small-medium weddings or any other event that they may be able to host.

Jim and Pat Tucker have out done theirselves with hard work and lots of love here at Tuckers Farmhouse. This was the Christmas event and the spirit of christmas was felt in the music..the decor and even Santa had a good time. Their piece of heaven is shared with open arms to others to enjoy for their own event or as a event space. Located in a 101-year-old building that used to be an A&P grocery store, this space perfectly blends history, creativity, and community. I love that so much of the original architecture has been preserved -- and the fact that it was designed by a woman architect back in the day makes it even more special. The Cove offers so much: daily coffee service, cooking and cake-decorating classes in "The Lab," yoga and meditation on Wellness Wednesdays, Social Sundays focused on mindfulness and connection, and even Art & Wine nights where you can sip, snack, and paint while listening to live music. They're also about to open Sticks & Stones, a private cigar club next door that will be available to members -- it's going to be such a great addition to the experience. The next membership cohort begins November 1st, and spots are limited to just 150 members to keep things community-focused and personal. They also host networking events, lectures, and business education workshops, so it's a great mix of social and professional. Whether you come for a coffee, an event, or to meet new people, The Cove Social Club is one of those places that makes you feel instantly connected and inspired.
