After all these years, our old furnace is doing the very best job ever of keeping this old building and its huge lower half-basement level very evenly heated. I called around 8:30 a.m. The gentleman told me he needed to finish shoveling his driveway and he would be over. He made it over around 11. In less than 10 minutes he had assessed the problem but said he didn't have the parts and he would be back on Friday. We hadn't heard anything by 12:30 on Friday, so we called. He said he had an unexpected job come up but he would be here sometime that day. He didn't show up and he didn't call. We called late Friday to ask him to let us know when he thought he would be able to come. He didn't answer and he didn't call back. We assumed he wasn't going to come Saturday or Sunday. On Monday at 11 a.m. we still hadn't heard anything so we called. He said that he had another job but would get to it tomorrow. On Tuesday at 1 we called again. This time he said he has no idea what's wrong with it but he was going to come over in a few minutes to check it out. At 3:20 he still had not arrived so we called and he didn't answer. At 3:30 he called back and told us he's retired and doesn't do plumbing anymore. We tried very hard to be patient and accommodating, but we can't allow this behavior to go unreviewed.

The first time I called them, Stan showed up at 07:50 a.m. for an appointment at 08:00 on a Saturday - but he hung out in his truck and waited until eight on the nose to knock on the door. I had a clog in my sink drain that was too far down for my snake to reach. He measured from the sink and the main, cut out a bit of pipe, cleaned it out, and then installed a T joint with a plug I could take out if I needed. Now, there's no part of the pipe I can't reach with the snake. That was the first of many great interactions. At this point, I tell them what the problem is, and they come fix whatever it is, and I pay them. I trust them so much that I don't need to talk to them before they fix something.
