I had several contractors come out to look at a number of jobs, and I interviewed a number of skilled workers across several trades for my house remodel. In the end, I didn't hire any of them. If you've done some research, you already know why -- good people are hard to find. Really hard. And that was how it was, until I talked to Tony about what I wanted. When he met with me and my wife, with him were the best electrician I have ever met, and the best plumber I have ever met. And they all worked with us to sketch out what they could do. And when the carpenters came, they were the best carpenters I have ever met -- every one of them was a better carpenter than anyone I have ever worked with. And it kept on like that through every sort of job -- the workers who came out to take out the old insulation and put in the new were the very best, the team who did all the demo, put up the drywall, and so forth, all the very best. And everything came along on schedule, orchestrated as promised. And, when there were bumps in the road, whether due to a misunderstanding or a job that didn't turn out as I or my wife had envisioned, Tony took care of it. And the price never changed except when I took over part of the job, or asked Tony for more work to be done. He was flexible to a fault, working with me without friction on my every change, and there were quite a few. These are some of the many other benefits we got when we put our faith, and our money, in Tony. We got the best there is, and we got everything we wanted the way we wanted it. Maybe it sounds self-indulgent, but then, this is where we live, and we have particular ideas about what we do and don't want. Our old home had many architectural and builder-related challenges and Washa dealt with all very successfully. Our most recent project was a garage remodel and it was approached with the same attention to detail and professionalism as any of our other projects. They were very timely when I reached out to make the first contact. Very shortly afterward they arranged a meeting with the subcontractors (floor, electrical, design team, insulation etc.) to make sure everyone was on the same page. I felt like were really benefited from the group think. The garage remodel included a food prep work area and Washa construction came up with some unique and practical builds to meet our needs including a heater, hoist, wall mounted foldable food grade stainless steel table, lighting so bright that you could do surgery in there, and smooth nonporous impervious walls around the work area. We are thrilled with the outcome and have had many, many compliments on the garage. I cannot say enough good things about working with this company. I'm a detailed oriented 'picky' client and here are the things that I like. They are respectful and take their time with clients. What is common to them is not common to the client and they understand this. Timely communications are a priority (phone, email, text). I send an email with points, and I get a meaningful response. It was very clear who was managing the project and who to call if I had questions or "some things I noticed..." The estimates have always been fair and competitive, billing is transparent, and the work timeline was clear over the whole project. There is no upselling, e.g. getting a new garage door when the one we had was working just great. The workmanship and attention to detail are consistently superb. Pat was the lead carpenter on the current project, and he insured all the work was done correctly and even had many helpful suggestions to make the site more functional. I was very impressed with the clean-up... work sites were cleaned up at the end of the day even if they were coming back the next day. It seemed like their motto was "leave it cleaner than how we found it". Over the years I have seen the same people working with the company and that says a lot about the company atmosphere and how people feel about working with them. Happy workers do better work and treat clients well. One important thing to me is being able to trust the workers when I cannot be at home. They ensure things are locked up. There is no concern about pets, kids, etc. They even took great care to make sure they did not block the mail person's access to our mailbox. He replaced garage windows, repaired rotten wood, framing, door installation, etc. He also painted my garage. I have a cat tree that my dad made. It had become unstable. One day my front door unexpectedly stopped working. Would not budge. I could not get into or out of my home. My neighbor had to help me break in through a window to get in through the side door. When he left on Friday he asked if we had a place to keep his tools ( and garbage) with the intent he would be here on Monday. Wrong. Today is Tuesday and he called the cops on us about his tools. Showed up with a smug look . He can tell you what you want to hear and then not perform. A huge 10000 mistake I ever made.
