We took Über about a dozen times and found it to be an easier way to get around, instead of the light rail trams which parallel the channels. We were here with another couple and we mostly had Mercedes-Benz Rs The drivers were all very friendly and knowledgeable about their city. Most spoke English and some French or German. But it really wasn't necessary, since Über had already plotted the route. Our wait times were usually ten minutes or so. Everything was door to door and first class.

USE ANOTHER SERVICE Gave flight info as…read morerequested when reserving--our flight info indicated landing 0735--Arrived at the pick up location at 0750 (flight arrived early), checked in and told that our driver had left bc we were late, but another was OTW and would arrive within 30 minutes. NOT true. Had to call the office number twice to find out where the driver was and in fact, no driver was en route. In the end (after an hour+ wait) , a driver arrived and THEN couldnt locate our hotel. So, he dropped us on the street and told us to walk to get there (4 blocks.) Needless to say, we very quickly cancelled our return-to-airport reservation. A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE in every way.

Do not believe what they say on their website about the driver waiting for you after passport control when you have given them your flight number. It does not happen. We waited an hour and saw several other groups of travelers frustrated with their similar long wait for a taxi. Refunds were not available and it would have been simpler and quicker to walk out and get a waiting taxi.

We did have to wander around quite a bit to find the bar that contained liquor, but we were persistent! Airport was clean and all employees we encountered were pleasant. We waited about an hour and a half in a very hot line to clear immigration. None of the self-service kiosks were open. When the Schengen line was totally clear, I hoped they would start taking people from our line; no such luck. The gentleman who helped us was nice, but it took way too long to get to him. It is very convenient that the train station is right there in the airport, though I wish the platform system was made a bit more clear no the kiosks when buying tickets. For those of us who don't have this type of transit in our home cities (Los Angeles), it made transportation tough. In fact, we got on the wrong train and what should have been a 15 minute ride from Schiphol to Centraal became an hour-long detour in the broiling heat.

I was traveling with my family, including my 22-month-old son and another young child. We waited in line for well over two hours, and by the time we got through, we were literally running to our gate and barely made our flight. The stress was overwhelming. What made the experience even worse was the lack of air conditioning. The terminal was extremely hot, my toddler was exhausted, crying, and struggling in the heat, yet there was no assistance to be found. When we tried to ask for help, the staff we encountered were rude and showed very little empathy. I understand that airports can be busy, but families traveling with small children should not have to endure hours in line without support, especially in uncomfortable conditions. This was by far the most stressful airport experience I've ever had, and because of it, I will avoid connecting through Amsterdam in the future. I sincerely hope Schiphol takes these concerns seriously and improves the experience for families and other travelers.
