This place is the cream of the crop for your pets boarding. Have never used their doggy day care or canine classes yet, but friends tell me their doggie day care is awesome. The owner, Mary, takes great pride in her business. She knows our dogs by name and we unfortunately don't take vacations very often. When we do, this is the only place we will consider taking our girls to. The entire staff is very friendly and cares about your animals. We tried a place that was about 20 miles closer to our house but could tell the same level of love and commitment was not there. Not to mention our dogs were full of ticks both times we picked them up. Goin to Grandma's is way worth the extra drive. I also love their do it yourself dog wash. It is so convenient to bathe them myself after they have spent time playing at Grandma's. I also like that they will feed our girls premium dog food at our schedule. You dont have to pack up food. You just make the appointment and drop them off. But most importantly, we are able to enjoy our trip knowing our dogs are in good hands. read more

I can't say enough great things about this place. We have used camp bow wow, doggie day care, and boarding. They are extremely amazing and patient! I have a German shepherd that is super anxious but oh boy does she love this place! Yes Ghost's has her favorite (Tania in AM and Jasmin in PM). Also, Bailey (beagle) loves Mary and Melissa. I love Going to Grandma's! We found them after moving to Hereford and we are so blessed! Staff are wonderful, attentive, kind and professional. I can't say enough, I'm so grateful for their outstanding services. I have been taking my Jack Russell there for almost a year. My puppy, Max, has learned to socialize, play, and just have a great time! Max goes to daycare on average 3 days per week or more. I'm so grateful for time that he has to interact with other dogs and humans who are so loving. The grooming department is excellent as well! He looks so beautiful and handsome when he's done. I highly recommend Going to Grandma's for daycare, grooming and boarding. Max and I have also trained with Rocky and his staff. I highly recommend Rocky for training. Rocky provides both group and individual training. Max is currently studying for his Canine Good Citizenship (CGC). Max, being a Jack Russell, has made huge strides towards this. Not sure if they are under new management but our experience was bad. We will not be back. Dog 1 developed a respiratory infection while there, veterinary trip included chest X-rays and antibiotics-$580. Dog 2 had an allergic reaction while there, veterinary trip included steroids, antibiotics and ointment-$150. Our dogs were only there for four days. Thought we would try Grandmas do to Anasazi's price increase. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

I needed to board my dogs because my husband and I were spending the weekend in Bisbee. Grandma's came highly recommended so I gave them a shot. The staff was friendly and patient when I explained my dogs' personalities and fussy food habits. I feel their prices are very reasonable but I lived back East for years and I'm used to paying more. When I picked my dogs up they were clean, happy and energetic. The only thing I wished if there was a warning on the website saying there would be a quarter mile drive on dirt/gravel roads to get to the facilities. If I knew that, I would have drove the truck not the two-seater. Anyhoodle, I will defiantly consider using them in the future. read more

Took my large Rott here for the do-it-yourself bath. It's a bit of a drive and not on a paved road which sucks but it was worth the dog tub and not dirtying my space up. Also took her here when she was a pup for training with Rocky. Highly recommend his training. read more

So, this place is a little on the expensive side. Seems nice enough and I've used their services a few times. But I do not think their rates are fair and they are always quick to ask for payment. Also, my dog is always in a rush to leave when I go pick him up. It's as if he really is not happy being there. He's very quick to make his way to the door and not respond to anything because he's so focused on wanting to get out! Makes me wonder what he doesn't like about being there. I have never been so disappointed with a business that I have resorted to reviewing them online. There's a first for everything. My husband and I just relocated to the area when we needed to board our two dogs. Our dogs have been boarded many times at different places as we move around and travel a lot. Therefore, we generally know what to expect from a decent kennel. I asked around for recommendations and most people said they had not used Goin to Grandma's but that it was the only one they really knew of in the area. Their website seemed professional enough with decent reviews online so I called to book them for a long weekend. The woman on the phone was helpful and gave me all the information needed. This place is on the expensive side especially when you factor in having to pay for someone to play with your puppies. As a previous reviewer mentioned, for those of us who consider our puppies like children, sending them to the kennel is like sending your child to daycare. If I had to pay extra to have my child played with on a daily basis, I wouldn't send my child there. Alas, I weighed my alternative options and booked with them. When dropping off my two full-grown, energetic dogs, no one came out to greet me, help me juggle two dogs, shot records, and bags of food, or even point me in the right direction. Instead, with the front door wide open, the two women at the front desk watched as I struggled all the way up to the door before telling me where to let my dogs wait while I checked them in which was back by my car. Unprofessional. When I pick them up, both dogs were not themselves. They are usually pretty exhausted after being at the kennel which I take as a good sign. However, never lethargic for 3 days. One even came home with kennel cough. We were not even home for 20 minutes before she had diarrhea everywhere. No one mentioned anything about diarrhea or coughing or sneezing or vomiting. The only report I got was "They did great at camp." There is no way her symptoms developed the second I picked her up. We planned on boarding them again when I have a baby in May, but I will not be going back here and I will be making sure all of my friends are fully aware of what they are getting themselves into before booking with Goin to Grandma's as well. read more

There's no reason to leave your dog anywhere else. The staff obviously loves all of the animals and takes a lot of pride in what they do. I have left my dog here twice with a clear conscious, knowing he's going to have a nice big space to run around in, as opposed to being locked in a kennel. The staff will talk to the dogs and for a small fee give them a one-on-one play session. Before I left my dog here the first time, I came by and asked if I could just "look around the office." They told me a price quote and gave me a tour of the facility. I asked if I could bring my dog along, and the dog got plenty of pets and a treat! My dog has always had to run up to the staff and say "Bye-bye!" when we've picked him up! He loves going here and we're so sad to have moved away from them. read more

I used this place about 20yrs ago. It was bad. Supposedly changed owners. Used them for 3 dogs in late July. when r usual place was filled up. 2 came home w/ kennel cough. They were nervous, wouldn't be left alone. They were supposed to be bathed and their nails done. Not sure what my dogs went through but this isn't normal. The best of the best! Took my dog and cat here while I was on vacation. When I pulled up the first thing I noticed about the facility was all the HAPPY dogs running around, playing and have a good time. When I walked into the office to drop my animals off I noticed they also care for birds and bunnies. When I spoke to the people who work there I felt at ease because it was evident that they are not only knowledgeable about animals but they also really love animals and what they do. They make sure all the animals are up to date on their vaccinations including kennel cough vaccination before they are boarded and they also don't allow bedding from outside of the facility so I felt confident my animals wouldn't get sick. When I came back to pick my animals up my dog was happy as a clam and I could tell he liked the lady that worked there. I also got a "report card" that included photos of my dog playing during the "bow wows" and noted his behavior while he was at the facility and the names of the dogs he was "best friends" with. i am not happy with the staff at Goin' to Grandmas. My wife and I have brought my 15 month old German Shepherd to this kennel several times all without any issues before this. On March 14th My Wife Dropped Duke (our puppy) off for 11 days of care with play dates every other day. Normally we would have a friend watch him, however no one was able to accommodate this time. On March 24 my lovely wife went and picked up Duke and noticed a chunk was missing from his right ear. When my wife inquired about what had happened one of the staff member (Mellisa) had said that there were no reports of anything happening during his stay. When my wife told me what happened I proceeded to call the kennel to ask for a more suitable explanation than "We have no record of anything happening." Mellisa went to explain that she had called one of the other staff members who was watching the dogs during camp day on Tuesday (Dukes first play day) and said she had noticed the notch missing but said it looked old and assumed it had been there before duke was brought to the kennel. Also she noted that the photos that were provided to us as gifts to show how fun Duke had been having were taken on Tuesday and show the notch missing. There is no date printed on the pictures so I had asked to see the original digital copy of the photo so that I may see the meta data showing what day the photo was taken. However Mellisa said that they take hundreds of photos a week and must clear out the card often to make room on the card for more photos, so it is unlikely that they still have them. With a injury such as this there would have been a noticeable amount of blood both on Duke and in the environment in which it happened. Mellisa did agree with the but she nor anyone else recalls there being any blood anywhere. For me this is unacceptable. Even inexcusable. I understand things happen whether it be another dog was rough housing with him and got his ear or if he got it caught somewhere and ripped it, but to try and cover whatever happened up and not say anything like we were not going to notice or say something. Now, it may be a issue with just an individual working there that got scared and covered it up, or it may be an issue with the kennel as a whole, but I will find out. I know this will not heal Dukes ear, but that's not the point. The point is my Dog is injured, and he can't explain to me what happened, and someone knows what happened. And for those of you who can't understand, what if it was your kid in preschool. Wouldn't you be a bit peeved if you picked them up with a gash on their head with the explanation that no one saw it happened and could only assume it happened before they got there. You would have a lot of questions I'm sure. read more

This place was very good. It was so much better than animal watchers. When we would pick up Our cat from animal watchers he was so mad at us for leaving there it would take us an hour to get him back in the cage. That was not the case at Goin to grandmas. There he was happier and at the end easy to get into the cage to go home. Unfortunately their care of his personal items where not 100% up to our standards. But he was happy as he was in his own air-conditioned room and didn't have to hear the dogs barking. So there was a good balance I guess. Not to mention wife was happy with their product. read more

My dogs had a great time and were well cared for. The next week, I received a "report card" from their stay with photos of them playing and their new doggie friends. This place seems nice and a good place to take your dog. It's not we took our dog there for a few days and got him back. A few days later he started coughing we took him to the vet and found out he had kennel cough which he got from there. The owner and the staff failed to inform us that they had a kennel cough case there. We contacted the owner and she was extremely rude and not helpful. She is suppose to be this professional dog trainer and have all this experience with dogs. She pretty much told us to proof that he got it there. Would not recommend taking your dog there or any other animal for that matter. read more

This is the very best place we have ever taken our pets, Raja can't wait to get there and is only in a rush to get to where ever they are taking him. He is of course happy to leave, if your mommy came to pick you up you would be in a rush to get home with her too! Might I add that over the last year Raja has become a blind dog and they treat himwith the utmost care. The last time we boarded him he even took part in doggy day care under the supervision of a wonderful care giver. He loves day care and the interaction with the other dogs. When we walk through the door he is greeted with great warmth by all in the office, sometimes it seems I am forgotten by them but not Raja, he is treated like royalty and I appreciate that. It makes me feel good that if I have to let him from under my care he is going to receive the same, if not better care with them. While we were trying to save his eyesight they were also diligent in giving him his meds and putting the drops in on time. They were also very conciouse at check in that they have all the meds put into their system so they were sure he got them on time. I would highly recommed Gramma's and would like to thank Mary and Glenn for running such a wonderful place for all animals. I would also like to thank them for taking in our cat's when we had the bad fire last year and the caregiver we had in place so they could stay home was negligent in her dutties and only under great pressure did she decide she could call someone to help her get them out of potenetial harm. Needless to say, if we have to go somewhere or if we decide we would like a vacation we feel that we have a great place to take all of our animals if we chose not to let 2 of them stay home. I took my dogs, Cruiser and Tula, to Goin to Grandma's for doggie daycare and boarding for over two years while I was stationed in the area. Mary and Glenn (the owners) and all of the staff are simply awesome! Cruiser, my chow chow, who can be a bit suspicious and standoffish at times, would leap out of the car as soon as we arrived - so excited to be there! The first time he boarded, he was scared and shy and Mary and the staff worked with him to boost his confidence so he felt safe and secure during his stay. His many visits over the time we were in Sierra Vista really helped make him a more confident and secure dog. The staff is wonderful, caring and conscientious, and they will go above and beyond for the animals in their care. The facility is clean, spacious and well-maintained. Because of the military, I've now relocated from the area. I (and my dogs of course!) are sad to leave and will miss Goin to Grandma's so much! read more

I would seriously look at finding another place. My dog went here for 1 day! Only to show up that my dog was injured. When I arrived they told me what happened didn't bother to call. Got it. Dog play but don't act like you know how I feel about my dog! Marginalizing the incident doesn't make things ok. Long story short Vet bill$547.67 from a lacerations to the left side of face, ear, and paw; required sedation and stiches. Going to Grandma's response, "Well this kennel is "PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK". "Dogs could get hurt." No, get out!!!! You are being paid to SUPERVISE not throw them in an area and leave them. If you aren't going to watch them pen them. GEEEEZZZZZ If I could give no stars I would. There was no concern what so ever. It was a shoulder shrug as, "well yeah, it happens." I only posted this because my friend just went through this and I knew I should posted this a while back (Sept 2013). I just thought I had a bad draw but after seeing my friends new pup pissed me off. AND SHE BETTER POST HER EXPERIENCE!!! These people really don't look after your dog. Yeah the staff is nice but their standard operating procedures are less than what anyone would want for their pet, I guarantee it. You can be nice all day long but if your prize possession isn't in the state in which you dropped them off in....shame on you. There will be no offer to pay any portion of the bill is what baffles me the most about the entire incident. Glad I haven't been back since. read more
