Unfortunately, she ordered the wrong size, and I have been in contact with Matt Caparelli since May 2023 to get it resized. Throughout this time, Matt made it clear that addressing this issue was not a priority. He failed to inform us of making an appointment to drop it off or about a mail-in option until months later. He did not communicate that the original lead time for the resizing (after he received it) had been pushed back. And before this, he admitted to not having my number saved, didn't respond to messages several times over the course of 13 months and left me to follow up with him countless times. Despite my honest and patient approach, taking accountability for the initial back-and-forth, although it would have been avoided if he had communicated all of the options... I would have expected more effort from him, especially knowing that I inquired about other purchases for my wedding, he was an old friend of my mothers and I disclosed to him that I was undergoing treatment for my disability and out of work. The situation worsened when Matt became frustrated after my mother reached out the same day as I, to inquire about the status since we were over a week past the lead time he last communicated after the ring was mailed to him in June 2024. He began texting me with words in all caps and eventually shipped the ring back to my home without resolving the issue, despite telling my mother he would take care of it. His communication was not only poor and unprofessional, but also filled with assumptions about us not paying for any fees he accrued and false claims that I wouldn't allow the ring to be redone in its entirety. This experience has left me with a piece I cannot use on my wedding day and has caused significant emotional distress for both my mother and me, which also flares up my condition. The lack of humanity and professionalism shown by Matt Caparelli would personally keep me far away from this business. It is particularly disheartening as he was an old friend of my mother, who is now heartbroken over the situation.
