I took my time to make a choice and Marvin and MV Kings reached out to see if I had any questions before my final decision. In the end the combination of the detailed quote, the follow ups and the reviews won me over. From the first meeting with Marvin he was professional, friendly and listened to my feedback. Throughout the process he kept me informed and was on time to all of his commitments. We had a little rain delay but he communicated and met the expectation. Overall the experience dealing with Marvin and MV Kings was pleasant and professional. Now the part I'm sure you really want to know....did they do a good job? Yes, the final product and detailed workmanship is beautiful. The job was no small task with a tri-level home on a hill in the country. From the patch work, board replacement, to the two tone paint, with a third color for the doors, to the final cleanup, a great job. Everything was properly masked off, bad siding boards were replaced and the new light fixtures we purchased were installed at the end of the job. Marvin and MV Kings did a great job and I am pleased with the overall experience and final product. They did an excellent job, taped everything up and even had covers down all the way to the front door so nothing tracked in the house. Very professional. While there, the painter noticed that my eves were peeling so he gave me a quote for complete sanding of the eaves and repainting, powerwashing the exterior stucco, sanding/staining/coating our wood double-front door, and sanded/coated/painted metal lattices we have around the property. Yep, more expensive but so much more worth it than some low-ball cheap job. Work holds up and they even use bond-o and not just spackle. Had them paint all three units at my tri-plex....replace all the hinges and door handles, cabinet knobs, hinges etc. Every kitchen cabinet (the doors, drawers) were taken to the shop, sanded and sprayed with multiple coats of paint. The frame and insides were sprayed as well and it's a mirror like finish that you don't get from a brush job. Great supervision and a crew used to working at high standards, it's the type of work that stands the test of time and stands out in quality workmanship. An overall poor poor paint job that did not finish the job. Art had a miscommunication with his office manager, Claudia, and did not paint the ceilings. How could a professions painter do this? I met Art Dixon at the Fresno Home Show and he stood out in a confusing and overwhelming sea of contractors. He was funny and outgoing and assured me he would be true to his word. We had been dealing with contractors and home repairs for several months and some horrible experiences: calls never returned, projects started and not completed and a couple of no shows. The single best thing about dealing with Art and his crew was that they always did what they said they would! They were easy to reach, returned messages quickly, showed up on time every single day of a long project and followed through on every commitment and request without fail. We also appreciated his suggestions with everything from upgrades to paint color, as we were often overwhelmed. His suggestions for kitchen lighting was something we hadn't considered and it was a fantastic decision. He even helped us save money by repairing rather than replacing when possible. He suggested a wall color that is absolutely perfect, much better than what we had originally selected. The biggest part of the project was completely repainting the entire interior of the house.
