DON'T SHOP HERE!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COST To whom ever this may concern, I recently cruised on The Icon of the Seas from February 21st from March 1st departing from Miami Florida port to The Caribbean. I went to Several of Jessica's (Port shopping expert) seminars on fine jewelry, and decided I wanted to indulge in a nice piece for myself. When we arrived to St.kitts port, I found myself in The Gold Mine and went back and forth on the pricing of a gold ring with diamonds. The original price was $5,500 which there is no way I could afford that. He then cut the price in half, which is still wayyy out of my budget. He then asked me what price I was willing to pay (which I am also not unrealistic), we agreed on $1,250. Vijay and Dogy From the location helped me, and told me to come back in 45 minutes so they could size the ring. When I returned to pick up my ring, I was headed back to the ship when I took it off and actually examined it. To my surprise the side of the ring had some black charcoal ( most likely from the sizing) which I thought was odd, that they didn't clean it prior to giving it to me and then I noticed that there was no stamp stating that it was 14K GD on the inside of the ring. My heart dropped and I didn't feel good about it, all of my gold jewelry are all stamped and this ring that I spent $1,250 on didn't have it, I also noticed that it felt cheap. I ran back into the store with my heart racing, I told the gentleman that I would like a refund. He panicked and asked what was wrong, once I told him. He tried to say that not all gold rings are stamped and how the cruise backs them up as being reputable, so that I should trust that the ring is real. He then insisted that he can get it stamped and ran out the front door with the ring. The other attendant was just waiting for that gentleman to come back, as I kept asking for a refund. After about 15 minutes he comes back with ring stamped, my gut was telling me something wasn't right. Once we kept going back on forth over how he says it real and I just don't believe him, Vijay and Dogy both side chatter and tell me that I would have to pay the $70 for the sizing of the ring, because how can they now sell the ring. I don't see how that's possible if they're policy states I can get a full refund, as long as I have the paperwork and the ring. Frustrated and angry they only refunded me $1,180 which I still don't feel is fair. The whole interaction was very bizarre and I feel like they were trying to scam me with a fake ring. While perusing the jewelry (with our free items in hand), we began to talk to the salespeople. We bonded instantly with Garima and she showed us several pieces I absolutely loved. Unlike other places that try to sell you on something bigger and bigger, Kash and her team listened to our needs and found several items that were prefer for each of us! My mom had a style of earrings in mind and has been looking for years. She told Kash, and Kash magically produced tanzanite after tanzanite and an assortment of earring settings to choose from. My mom had her dream earrings made on site! Kash found us exactly what we wanted - and seemed to understand what we liked and our unique styles - and then Uncle put together a deal we couldn't refuse. Pricing is amazing. My wife's aunt and uncle have been visiting Gold Mine for the last 30 years and have had nothing but positive praises for this jeweler. Naturally, when my wife and I decided to take our honeymoon in St. Thomas, we had to stop by this venue, especially since St. Thomas is an island known for exquisite jewelry at unbeatable prices. Similar to our family's experience, my wife and I really enjoyed the experience here. The entire staff is very friendly, and Gold Mine is one of the few jewelers not practically dragging you into their stores (I really appreciate when a store stands on its own merit without hiring someone to "drag" you inside). When we walked in, we were greeted very warmly and immediately offered water, soda, rum or wine (yes, please!). We both asked for some water (it was a hot afternoon) and were each given a 12-oz bottle of Poland Spring. We then proceeded to look around the store. Rather than try to guess or tell us what we wanted, the staff asked if there was anything in particular that we were hoping to find and let us know the best deals they had in the store that day. What really caught our eye was this gorgeous 0.75ct diamond bracelet that they were offering on sale for $199 (and remember that there's no sales tax in St. Thomas). They even admitted to us that this was what really incentivizes tourists to visit their store and is their best deal (and biggest seller). We could easily see why when we saw that bracelet sparkle. Back in the states, this would easily cost $600 or more. We decided to make the investment and purchased the bracelet. They placed the bracelet in a box for us and even included a cloth for us to keep it clean at no extra charge. For the class, service, cleanliness and overall ambiance of this place, they easily get 5 stars in my book. I couldn't imagine going to another jeweler on St. Thomas! read more

We bought a watch here today that was priced at $420 and we walked out with it at $265. It was a Seiko. Very nice with lots of options. We looked online after we purchased the watch and it seems like we purchased an older version of the watch because the watch was not listed on Seiko's website. We found the same exact watch on other websites beginning at $189. Not sure if we got ripped off or not, lol. Our receipt said no refunds or exchanges so we figured there was no point in going back. We had a great experoence at gold mine jewelers. My wife picked a 1.2 ct diamond earrings. We checked out few other neighboring jewler shops (ajanta , house of rajah etc.) and we settled on gold mine. We found the quality of jewelry was higher and at a better price than others and sales staff more genuine. One reason could be that other stores pay a commision to their sales staff whereas goldmine is a family run business. Gold mine folks were not pushy at all and helped us select the right piece. They had a lot of options too. We were out with some friends who purchased a few other items. Overall we could not have been more happy and highly recommend them. read more
