These past few weeks dealing with 911 and the Claims Closure team at Elkmont have left me…read morewondering: what would have been more toxic? Letting the mold grow in our home without mitigation services or enduring the stress and confusion of this company's billing process and numerous emails back and forth. Jeremy and his crew came to us the day after a major rainfall and helped with a sump pump overflow. From the start, we liked Jeremy and appreciated the quick response to our urgent call. Because it was an emergency, we didn't receive an upfront estimate. Our priority was getting the water out quickly, and we were told we had to sign a contract, agreeing to be responsible for the billing, in order to start the process. In hindsight, this was a hard lesson learned and our mistake to trust and not get a written estimate in advance. Jeremy and his crew got right to work, and during those early days, we felt secure knowing we had found a good team to help with the heartbreaking demolition of our home. They guided us through the mitigation process and assured us they would also support us through reconstruction. After the mitigation work was completed, we waited several weeks to receive a bill. We followed up multiple times requesting the final bill for our insurance claim but were repeatedly told to be patient due to a backlog of estimates. Eventually, we received the bill and forwarded it to our insurance adjuster. After reviewing the charges and attempting to work with the company, the adjuster informed us that the invoice appeared significantly inflated. He noted that the billing department made only a minimal effort to negotiate in good faith. Ultimately, he advised that we reach out directly, as he was getting nowhere and we would be responsible for thousands of dollars even after insurance paid what they deemed a fair amount. That's when we decided to take a much closer look at the charges ourselves. Upon reviewing the invoice, we noticed charges for plumbing service, though no plumbing work had been performed which was a minimal amount. This prompted a deeper dive into the invoice, and we went through photos taken during the process and found another discrepancy: the invoice listed 12 air blowers used for 12 days, but the pictures clearly showed only 8 blowers on our property on the eighth day, and not for the full duration. The owner later confirmed that all equipment had been removed four days earlier than what was billed. After raising these concerns, we were told the invoice would be resubmitted to the Claims Closure Team at Elkmont and that we'd hear back shortly. Over a week later, we received the original bill with a late fee added and a professional threat of more late fees if this was not paid within two days. We followed up with 911 Restoration and received a brief three-line revision invoice that reflected only a minimal change in pricing. We repeatedly requested a detailed, line-by-line invoice showing the corrections. This should have been simple, especially since they had previously provided a breakdown outlining the overcharges. Surprisingly, despite using advanced billing software, they were unable (or unwilling) to generate a corrected version with the same level of detail. The lack of transparency and responsiveness was disappointing, especially given the nature of the concerns we raised. What we did receive to explain the revised billing was an email stating that the revised total reflected all adjustments discussed, including the removal of plumbing line items and the correction to equipment usage days. They stated, while we understand you anticipated a larger reduction based on those changes, the adjustment to plumbing charges was relatively minimal, and at the same time, demolition costs increased after further review. The net effect is that the difference between the two estimates was not as large as expected. The adjustments for the overbilling in our favor were minimal, surprisingly so, especially when compared to the original invoice pricing for the air blowers. Ironically, the added costs of the demolition seemed to put us close to where we initially started. The owner, called us the night we paid the bill to discuss the issues we had encountered. We shared our frustrations, and while I appreciated the gesture, it didn't change the outcome. We ultimately paid the bill just to move on and avoid further communication. Based on our experience, we chose not to pursue reconstruction services with this company. I'm confident their response to this review will echo the same message they've given to others on google reviews: that their billing is accurate and fair. But as a consumer and alongside others who've taken the time to share similar experiences, I feel it's important to warn you. While the actual work met expectations at the time it was performed, the billing process was far from transparent. The sticker shock was real, and you may end up paying a steep price.

From this point on I realized what a lousy businessman Randy is. During his initial time here giving me an estimate he told me he would get the necessary permits and I don't need to worry. When you call R and R Plumbing you will reach Randy's wife Dawn. If you call there in the morning she will answer the phone, but is always pre occupied talking to her crew and complaining about how busy she is. If you call in the afternoon Dawn may or may not answer and if she does she is "away from her desk" and may or may not return your call. Randy was very quick to say he could find a better toilet that I could buy in store. I said ok great do you have a picture because I don't want just any toilet? Nope. "I will have the guys pull one out of the box and have Dawn send you a pic" That never happened. Even after asking a second and third time, I said the hell with it and found one myself. Moving along, I wanted a washtub installed in the basement and it was the same line as before. "I can find you one way better than you can find in the store" Okay great get me one. That never happened either. Not only did Dawn keep sending me an invoice for $100 or so that I had already paid and previously disputed, I repeatedly asked her for my current invoice. She said I should have gotten it but she would "look into it and get back to me" As you can probably guess by now, that didn't happen either. I had to call her again to request it be sent again AND ask her about the permit Randy said he would get. I had to ask because by this time I was fed up and hired a new plumber. This is where the story takes a nice turn. I have never done a renovation before and it would have been nice to be told that I needed to have an inspection done by the city. I am guessing he didn't mention it because he never got the permits they told me they would. When I called him out on this to Dawn she gave me some lame story about how she rubs elbows with the people that work for the city and its "actually not a big deal" She told me worse case scenario I would get a small fine, no big deal. Obviously she doesn't have an attorney because mine assured me that was NOT the case. Moving along, she LIED to me AGAIN on the phone and said Randy just took care of it. She asked if I would like to schedule more work and I said no thank you. After having a quality plumber look at Randy's crappy work he rolled his eyes and said "this is not good" The main stack had been hacked so many times it looked like a kid took 50 pieces of random pipe and glued them together. After telling the new plumber what I was doing in the bathroom he said he has know idea wtf Randy's plan was but he would have to redo all his work. This included replacing the stack again and properly roughing in the bathroom with the rest of the work I needed finished. He pointed out pipes glued together crooked and even broken fittings. I wouldn't recommend Randy to work on ANYTHING! Call ANYONE besides R and R Plumbing. I wish I had, it cost me THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!

However, how Empire operates as a company is totally dysfunctional with an owner that only cares about making sure people know he drives a Limited Ram Truck. They cannot answer basic lead time questions of when a job might be completed. My roof was scheduled to be installed and was then canceled without notification. The reason I was eventually told was because the materials were on backorder, and they did not know when ABC Supply would deliver. The materials were sitting in my driveway the entire time. They took the easy route in blaming ABC Supply every time instead of taking accountability for their disorganization. After my job was completed, I had to send numerous emails to have them submit a certificate of completion to release the remaining funds from the insurance. I could not believe it was so difficult to get someone to submit completion so I could pay them the remaining funds. I understand people are busy but there is no internal communication at this company. Below/attached is an actual email I received from the owner Glenn Procknow after asking simple questions about when my job might be completed (after it was initially canceled) so I had an idea. The email is not altered or changed in anyway. I would recommend finding another company to work with if you have any roofing, siding, or gutter needs.
