For all his supposed knowledge at home inspecting he only managed to find obvious cosmetic problems that the average person could spot. He said my warped floors at the entryway were a result of temperature fluctuations. When in fact it was water damage. His missed broken bricks around my windows and a poorly constructed deck. Allot of problems that were filed on his report were issues I spotted that he missed. I would have not purchased this money pit if a proper inspection would have been done. He is a definite DON'T HIRE! BEWARE! 2/27/13 In response to Inspex comments: Eric I am not going to waste my time discussing something with you that at this point cannot be undone. My review above and warning stands AS-IS. This house was re-sold recently after only 3 years living in it and sinking 30k+ on fixing most of the issues you missed. 30k we lost! Which includes the warped floor around the front door that was water damaged and which was clear to any actual qualified professional. The floor replacement was 12k alone since the floor was engineered and too old to be matched correctly so all the first floor hard wood needed to be replaced! I have your report and my wife and I remember clearly what your suggestion was for the problem floor, I wrote it on the report when you left "Just throw a rug over it" Or the suggestions for the deck which was just to drill a few more screws into the loose railing. Railing that fell over with ease which led to the installation of a new deck and more money lost! BTW A+ ratings on the BBB are not worth much IMO, it just means most people know next to nothing would come of a complaint and it's not worth the hassle especially since complaints are never posted in detail, I know the process very well and the results. Which is why reviewing is a much better course of action since the general public can read in detail the complaint and decide for themselves if doing business with the company involved is a wise decision. Which in your companies case, IMO, is not! It was a hard lesson learned. Inspectors are so generalized in their knowledge that money is better spent hiring separate specific contractors (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and structure) to inspect the most important and expensive to repair aspects of a home. Cost more in the short term but saves you plenty in the long!

We hired AHI to do a pre-list inspection on our home. Three people (Joe, Chase & Christian)…read morecompleted a very thorough inspection on a 2100 sqft home in about 2 hours. They used a drone to see details about the roof and siding, and found a lot of issues that the inspector missed when we bought the house six years earlier. The guys were very professional and courteous, answered all of our questions, and we had an exceptionally detailed report, with photos, delivered to our email the same night. We didn't mention anything, but we knew about some problems with the house. They found every problem we knew of and more! We were alarmed that the vapor barrier under the house is incomplete and allowed moisture to create a mold problem under our house, which is likely affecting the air quality in the house. They also found where the siding was improperly cut and installed by the roof, thanks to the drone. I know that stinks being the seller, but better to know now than later and get it fixed so our family isn't breathing mold! IMHO, I don't think it gets better than AHI. I recommend getting an inspection, even if you aren't selling, every five to ten years, just to make sure your house is safe and functional. No one wants mold, etc!
