Kailah was exactly the artist I had been looking for- I'm so glad I made the trek. From the moment I made the decision to get a tattoo with her, the process was streamlined, professional, and individualized. Kailah was very collaborative with me while planning the piece of art. I valued her professional recommendations, while she supported my vision. Black Opal was located across from the Deschutes River in Bend, which I found super cool and grounding before entering the building. The studio was super clean and decorated incredibly- modern, vibrant, and classy. I felt so comfortable there, and not going to lie, I felt like a total BA. I'm absolutely in LOVE with my tattoo. It's not JUST BEAUTIFUL but it's everything I wanted. It is big but took us just under two hours. She is as fast as she is talented. I have no bad things to say whatsoever except that I wish I could have done it sooner! I will totally be back for more work though. I stayed for a second tattoo as Aaron Borden was able to fit me in and hook me up with a super special tattoo as well. I really liked him as well. The staff is super friendly, professional. And it's clean but cozy and comfortable in here. Definitely not that sterile smell but it feels like a place to hang out. I booked her service in December and she had a whole list of things to do before the appointment like staying away from alcohol and caffeine to avoid extra bleeding during the appointment. I have the lowest pain tolerance and Christine was so patient, gentle, and understanding. She made fun, lighthearted conversation with me to keep me relaxed. I loved that she went over the after care instructions with me twice so I knew exactly what to do after the appointment. My brows look very natural and I still look like myself! Wanted to get my daughter's tongue pierced. Paid the $65…read moredeposit for a 2:45pm appointment- Called at 11am the same day to ask if we could reschedule for the same day at 12:30pm due to a VA appointment and the girl on the phone said sure thing see you soon. Showed up from a 45 min drive to be turned away and told they are keeping our deposit- wouldn't let us reschedule for any other time Girl said her boss which I'm assuming is "Jamie" told her no after the fact and we are just ass out. Terrible business practices. Hope yall are closed down tbh. I buy jewelry often and are always getting body mods. I've never seen a shop ran like this and I'll NEVER recommend this place to anyone due to her just being a thief.

An update on the piercings- a month after I got the conch and upper lobes done, I got 4 piercings…read moredone elsewhere. I had a daith, double helix and 2nd lobe (other ear). The newer piercings are now closing in on two months of healing and I have had ZERO issues with the piercings done at the other studio. The starfire ones? STILL GET INFECTED or at minimum irritation bumps, and they're on the same ear as the newer double helix. This gives me further proof that my aftercare is fine, it's the piercings. Don't go here. Just drive the 30 minutes and save yourself months of oozing piercings.
