I'm going to have a rewrite the review of this pub namely because I decided to stop off here for a drink on my way back to Melbourne. It was a good thing that my Dad was driving mind you because by spending so long in Adelaide I automatically ordered a schooner, when I actually wanted a pot. Anyway, I'd stopped here a couple of times in the past but I decided to check this place out again. The first thing that struck me is that they do things differently in the country - for instance if you are in a pub in the city (by yourself), and you go to the toilet then you can be guarenteed that your beer will not be there when you return - not so in the country. In fact they find it rather odd if you bring your beer with you.
As for the pub, it was okay. You can't take the beers out the front like you used to, however they do have a ramshackle beer garden out the back - namely some tables with some tins for ashtrays. The restaurant was pretty crowded when I came here, though the front bar not so much. I'd probably come back here though, namely because of the memories of driving past it on the way to Melbourne. read more
