My favorite local bookshop in Syracuse!!!!! Not only is it cute, it has such a large variety of books of all different genres, as well as trinkets that you can give as gifts or keep for yourself! Each time I come here the staff is extremely helpful in assisting me whether it's just fishing something I am looking for or suggesting a new series. The price is not expensive even as a local bookstore. I truly love it here, it is one of my Syracuse staples. read more

What a delightful bookshop! Truly a safe haven. This shop is what book lovers' and stationary fiends' dreams are made of! They have stickers, candles, keychains, and other extremely gift-able items available as well as popular book series, arts and crafts books, etc etc! They even have the sweetest corner for kids. And! They have a food pantry out front for anyone who would like to donate or who is in need. We love local businesses who so fiercely support their local community! read more

So much thought is put into the window display and how the books are organized. They give you bookmarks with your purchase. Very reasonably priced and better to shop an indie bookshop than a chain. Everyone here is so pleasant and if they don't have a book you are looking for, they will order it for you. Such a welcoming space and they even do different events. read more

This is the quaintest little bookstore I have ever had the pleasure of stepping into! It captivates any aged bookworm with twinkling lights, floral display, and row upon rows of books ranging from children's, fiction, romance, even the aroma was inviting! Turns out Bath and Body Works had a wallflower named Book store how appropriate! The bookkeeper was very helpful assisting me with selecting a new novel, they did not have the author I was looking for but she made several recommendations based on my reading history. They will order requests as well. They have several book clubs and events monthly. I asked if the silent book club was a thing, apparently it is popular amongst avid readers, both for reading and discussion. I purchased Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, New York Times bestseller. I'm looking forward to digging into this one! Great store for gift giving! The book was $17 plus tax and came with the bookstores monthly complimentary bookmark. read more

Run to this bookstore, but only if you love books, love all people as equals, and want to be in heaven with a fun bookish vibe with fairy lights! The owner (Casey) has owned this independent for six years, and she was so kind and wonderfully passionate & chatty with her book recs that I asked for. Her store and taste are beautifully executed in this store. Everywhere you look in there you can see and feel the love that went into creating this space! Highly recommend! read more

Every time I walk in here, I just feel happy. My daughter walked in (3 years old) and exclaimed, "this place is beautiful!" It's welcoming, a safe space, cozy and such a treat to visit. I always find something I want here and they order anything you're looking for that might not be in the store. read more

Another year of loving this book store!! There's truly no other as warm, bright and welcoming. Staff are super friendly and helpful, and there's tons of events where you can get to know other community members or join book clubs. This is a MUST STOP when visiting the village of Liverpool! This place is so dreamy. I came on a rainy day, and this was a cozy oasis from the storm. The shop is so clean and bright and colorful. The aesthetic is really cheery yet chic, and I wish my shelves at home had this kind of energy and style. They have a wide variety of titles, and it's fun just to browse. I came in for a particular title but noted down a bunch of others to check out later. This is the kind of place you can serendipitously stumble upon your newest obsessive read. There's a kiddie area in the back, and a table where you can hang out. I've seen that they do a good deal of fun events at the shop too, would definitely love to check those out in the future. The staff was nice. Prices are higher than online which is to be expected at any independent bookseller, but it's worth it to support a local business, and to recapture the magical feeling of wandering the selves of actual book. read more

What a bookshop!! The second I stepped foot on here I knew k would be back in the future. It's so so cozy and just the perfect bookstore vibe. They have so many books that are on the "booktok" and have books for all ages. They even have a table in the middle of the shop with crayons that would be perfect to bring kids there! If you need to shop for someone's birthday or any occasion, they have already wrapped books and you don't know what it is - the perfect gift! They have earrings, bookmarks, stickers, cards. Wonderful! The lady behind the counter was oh so nice! I usually buy all my books at Amazon but I will coming here from here on out! Price is the same as other stores so it's great to help our local shops! 5/5 would recommend to go here!! read more

This is a really lovely, inclusive bookshop. They have a lot of community events that sound super fun, including a monthly book club! The book selection alhas a lot of variety, and they have all of the recent hits, like Iron Flame with sprayed edges, which even Amazon is out of at the time of this posting. The staff is super friendly and is able to provide tailored recommendations. They also sell fun products from other local businesses, like candles and earrings. I'd absolutely recommend this bookshop. read more

It's a one-story warehouse-style building that's been sectioned and compartmented off into smaller areas where the wares of dozens (I think---it seemed that diverse, anyway) of individual vendors are arranged. The layout of the actual interior is deceptive in that you eventually reach a point toward the back of the main building where you realize that a series of doorways (and with abundant signage indicating what you'll find through each one) actually leads to several additional huge spaces beyond, each with even more items to browse. One of these "back room" areas contained multiple racks filled with vintage clothing (both women's and men's) that had clearly been carefully curated via the vendor's high standards of overall quality/vintage condition, and the diverse range of clothing types (costumey vs. casual/everyday vs. formal/dressy, etc.) was particularly impressive. My visit to AW happened accidentally and with only about an hour remaining until they closed for the day, so I know I didn't get to see all the rooms, let alone all the items, that were available at that time. Even so, I managed to find a wide selection of things to purchase (art prints, vintage collectible calendars, 5+ articles of clothing, two beautiful lamps, and more!) and was definitely able to confirm AW as a 100% worthwhile stop to include on any list of must-visit Syracuse antique/vintage shops. And what's more, every single staff member and vendor that I encountered while I was shopping went absolutely above and beyond in helping me find my way around, learn more about the back stories of certain items I expressed interest in, and trying on the clothing items I'd picked out prior to deciding whether to buy them. They seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me as a first-time shopper, and in turn I got to know several of them on a first-name basis even in the short amount of time I had to spend that afternoon. All in all I have nothing but positive things to say about the entire experience I had at my first Antiques West visit, and I can't wait to go back again soon!
