It was not even my issue, I helped a friend with money, ONCE, and now he is charing $500 at a time to my credit card. He has been told not to, and still did. I reported them as Fraud to my Credi Card co. and am getting my money back. DO NOT use this company, they will harrass you until you use them for service and scam you for payments after that. Horrible service. Was taken into San Diego Central jail for a warrant and decided to bail out. Bail was $5,000 and therefore I would have to pay $500. I called Golden boys asking if I could work a payment plan with them since I had no money on me and was pretty much broke at the time. They agreed and said I could make 2 payments of $250 within a span of 4 weeks. I happily agreed and they told me to call them back in 30 minutes to see if my paperwork had cleared. Originally I was planning in staying in jail and therefore had already spent a good 5-6 hours just sitting in holding. The officer thought I was bailing out so therefore cleared my prints around 2 am. I called back to GB and they said they had not gotten any word if my prints have cleared and told me to call back in an hour. I call back in an hour and they then tell me that since I had nothing but my phone on me, that they would have to take that as collateral until i make my first payment. Not really wanting to sign over my only way of contacting people and then they told me to call them back in 30. Thankfully the holding tank was not that crowded or else I would have a hard time getting up and using the only phone in there. I call back and they say they didn't get my phone yet and they will head over soon to grab it. Then tell me to call back in 30. An hour passes and i decide to call back to give them extra time because i was getting frustrated. They answer and say that they got my phone and posted bail and now I 'm just waiting for the sheriff to move me to the other room. Finally. Nope. Another hour passes and I ask the sheriff if he had gotten any word and he tells me that he has nothing. I call them back and they tell me they accidentally took someone else's property and are heading back to retrieve mine. Another hour passes and i call them back asking if they had gotten my phone yet. They tell me that it's the sheriff's responsibility to send down the correct property bag and that they are waiting on him to send it. At this point I am getting pretty impatient but decide to wait a little longer. I wait another hour and call them back. They tell me they still don't have it and give me more shit news. According to the agent, his boss then tells them they can't work a payment plan with me and I will need to give them the $500 upfront as soon as i get out. All that time I wasted sitting there calling them back, telling me to wait when they could have just told me they couldn't help me out. Well fuck there goes my hopes of bailing out right? Nope! Thankfully some guy in there told me to call ALL PRO, which I did and they were able to get me on a payment plan, with nothing down, no property withheld, knock off $100 and get me out within two hours of originally calling! FUCK GOLDEN BOY. And that's not the last of it. As i was getting let out I was told that I didn't have my property and that Golden Boy had taken it! What the fuck, they told me they hadn't been able to get my property! In all honesty I think Golden boy agents are unprofessional and don't give a shit about the people they are helping. Had me in there the whole time guessing when to call them back and each time not revealing any information to me, kept changing their story, asking me to keep calling back and I'm pretty sure lying about how the certain processes work so the blame won't fall on their unprofessionalism. Do not use Golden Boy instead use ALL PRO they are way better in every way. read more

I would rate these people 0 stars if I had the option to. AWFUL AWFUL service!!!! Don't even bother wasting your time with these people. We tried posting bail and were told by Golden Boy that it would take up about 4 hours to have my son released so headed back home. As soon as we arrived home we got a call from them saying to come back because he would be released within the next hour. We go back turns out he now won't be released at all mind you he was only detained for outstanding traffic citations. After going to the jail to see what the issue was we headed back to Golden Boy for a refund since they didn't post bail. At this time the guy who first assisted us was no longer on shift. We were now being assisted by a butch looking older woman. She told us she had contacted the owner and to wait about 20 minutes for him to bring the money. My pregnant daughter in law who was visibly sick and constantly going to the bathroom to vomit, Grandson (4 years old) and I waited for about half an hour. This was around 11:00 pm. We finally asked what the hold up was and the women told us the owner was SLEEPING IN A BACK OFFICE because he was not feeling well and she had already told him we were waiting and we'd have to wait until he felt like getting up to get the money out of the safe. After waiting for over an hour we obviously became upset and started arguing about what kind of business this was having to wait on a sleeping person to get up to refund our money knowing that there was a sick pregnant women and small and now very cranky child aside from myself waiting to get back what's rightfully ours and asking if there was anyone else that could get it for us. She stated there was nothing she could do as she could get fired if she bothered him we'd simply have to wait for him to get up when ever he felt like it and if we did not stop bothering her she would kick us out. My daughter had been checking in on me via phone and after I told her we were still waiting for our money and what the women was putting through she tried calling in to see if there was anything she could do. That only resulted in her being hung up on! Eventually we called the police and amazingly as soon as the police showed up the women's demeanor instantly changed and the owner suddenly popped out of nowhere with cash in hand! Less than 24 hours later Dustin Guerrero, the owner of Golden Boy Bail Bonds, had sent me a long email profusely apologizing and inquiring further on the incident to determine which employee was failing him. He went above and belong to resolve my issue, and that is why I feel this business deserves 5 stars all the way. I was very impressed with his devotion to customer service and the overall sincerity of his demeanor. Within seconds of talking to him I both liked and trusted him, and that doesn't happen to me very often. I loathe people who shamelessly pander and kiss the big badonkadonk, however Dustin's approach to addressing my issue was unique. He actually seemed emotionally invested in the resolution, like it upset him that someone had a bad experience with his company and he needed to get to the bottom of why this happened to defend the honor of his company and their sterling reputation. I see this dedication as a commendable trait because honestly most bail bondsman are complete a**holes who only care about makin that dollar. This guy was so cool that through the course of our telephone conversation I started to empathize with him and felt bad for posting a bad review in the first place. First of all they are very unprofessional, i bailed my boyfriend and i out and i still had payment, the women tried to tell me she would take trades instead of money (like marijuana, and another highly illegal substances) i am legally aloud to smoke in the state of CA but i find this very unprofessional for a bail bond company. also i have been harrased through phone calls through this whole company is ran by a hispanic family owned, not only did they call from thier number but multiple other numbers and restricted numbers. I went to court to get this horrible company out of my life the case was dismissed a year later they come to my place of employment but they handle thier buisness very imature and unproffesionally instead when they found me of telling me they where bail bonds people and i needed to come with them they made a story and tried to make me do more illegal thing to add criminal cases and made a scene after they couldnt get me to do anything illegal by dragging me out of my work and i wasnt informed of who they really where until an hour after they had taken me , resulting in being fired from my place of employment. wait it doesnt stop here...i was told by the owner of the bailbonds if i reffered 8 people i would be bailed out for free i reffered 10 people and they kept a story goingthat they where coming to get me i spent the whole 3 days in jail do not trust these people this is suppose to be the law but they do drugs lie and try to cheat you i would hate for anybody to be taken advatage of by this company, you can tell by thier office and thier rude attitudes they dont take thier job seriously. read more

I called to get bailed ou.t the lady on the phone seamed nice and made my feel like i was in good hands. oh was i wrong. when i first talked to her she said " $250 AND YOU'll be out in no time" i had enough money to cover in my property so i explained that to her. so she asked to have my property relesed to her and i did. first red flag was when i got a reciept stating that she took $300 instead of the agreed $250. eh fifty bucks no big deal when your getting out right? but now the fun begins. when i get released i was instructed to come in to the office to arrange payments for the balance. walk in and the nice lady isnt so nice anymore. sits me down and says to me " well i dont know how to tell you this but the $300 i took from you rproperty isnt enough. straight up we need more money or im walking you right back to jail" proceeds to stand up and locks the door behind me. i began to plead that wasnt our agreement and she says to me "well we need to make a new agreemen.... turn around" and proceeds to put handcuffs on me. i still plead with her that this wasnt part of the agreement. she then tells me that if i dont come up with $1200 bucks that i would find myself right back in jail. completely out of my price range so i ask what would be the minimum she would take. " well you tell me what you can come up with". i say realisticly the most would be $800 "ok that will be fine" she says. i told her i would have to get the money from my girlfriend who has beeen waiting downtown for 6hrs for my release. girlfriend shows up and has to deal with us from behind the locked bars i quickly ask my girlfriend for the $500 and she agrees. lady gets up to take her atm card. still doesnt let her in to the office. and i asked she was only gonna charge her card $500 since she already had taken $300 from my property. bail bond lady says "nope i asked for $1200 thats what im gonna get" . i again have to explain that wasnt the agreement. bail lady throws a little hissy fit and says "screw it im taking you back to jail". the last place anybody want to be is jail so she got what she wanted MY $300 AND MY MY GIRLFRIENDS ATM CARD FOR $900. EVERY LAST CENT WE HAD BETWEEN US. read more

My dad had been arrested and I got the call around 2 in the afternoon so I immediately started the process to bail him out. I had contacted golden boy because the previous week I had delt with them for something completely separate and Alex who I was speaking with remembered my name so he said they would take a hundred off the total. We had came to an agreement and I was just to bring in the cash. My dad is 56 years old never bailed out jail. He's not familiar with the process so I was doing my best to take care of everything and before he was eligible for release. So Alex told me his shift ended at 8 and that my father wasn't going to be ready for bail til after 10 and that if any thing changed he would let the guy on the next shift know to contact me. So around 9:30 I call in and JR the manager answer so I let him know I was 14 min away. He proceeds to start asking me a couple questions and then says my dad had been eligible for hours and that he wasn't going to do it. At this point golden boy had already had my father's stuff released to them and been telling me for 7 hours everything was good to go. But simply because they had a shift change now my whole life was in ruins. After several minutes of pleading with Jr I hung up while crying and called bail hotline. The girl that answered was amazing!!! She answered and could hear I was upset and crying she asked my father's name how much money I was able to put down and gave me the address I headed straight there and she was walking outta the office before I was to post his bail. This is twice now I have delt with golden boy and each time they were terrible but this time took the cake. How do u go as far as having someone's property released to you and then just say sorry not my co worker didn't leave enough notes for me. I will never recommend this place EVER.
