Thursday, March 4th, 2021 Hello fellow Yelpers, I'm writing this to those who are hopeful, yet find themselves in a hopeless situation, like I did recently. From my personal experience, I encourage you to at least make a phone call to give Bad Boys Bail a chance in assisting you bring an incarcerated loved one home, whether they are guilty or innocent and whether their bail is set low or high. In my specific case, I would say the biggest challenge I faced was that the bail to get my delinquent other half out of jail was understandably set high. Although it didn't stop me from taking some kind of action, that particular factor made me nervous to call around because I'm human and I feared being rejected. And I WAS turned away a couple of times. Not only would they not work with me because of the seriousness of the crime, but mainly because I didn't have enough money upfront that would make it worth their while. Don't get me wrong, I do acknowledge that this is a business involving many risky factors and that most people, including myself, don't work for free. I would say that they're affordable and will work with you in a way that is compromising. I called and, I didn't know it then, but I'm now forever grateful that Sean Thomas picked up. Working with Sean was an extraordinary experience in a very good way. First, I was asked about the details pertaining to my situation and I wasn't judged at all. Instead I encountered patience, compassion, and a sympathetic understanding from Sean. He's all business, but he also cares. Sure these guys will bail you out for almost no money down but in my case I was arrested on the 17th and released my property to bad boys on the 18th when I was told all that was in the bag was a hat and a belt there's nothing on the police report about anything else any other property being taken so I was really s*** out of luck I sent my property to them so that we could get my phone and I could use have them get the phone number so I could call somebody to get bailed I was on a bogus charge anyway so on the 20th when I went over to bad boys I was giving my property sealed let me emphasize sealed property bag and then it was my phone my wallet my belt and my hat now that may seem fine and good like I I got something that I didn't expect back right when it first it did until I looked at my browser history and realized that on the 18th 19th and 20th before I was released which about which time I would have been released anyway after 72 hours of no arraignment so they had to video Court me anyway on that Monday I'm pretty sure I was going to be released anyway but they were happy to take my money they were happy to let the police keep my phone all weekend or whoever kept it maybe maybe bad boys kept it I don't know I think the police kept it the whole weekend and then on the day that I got out my bill was posted or the money was to them and everything was done by 6:00 my bill wasn't posted till 8:00 and I wasn't released until just before midnight just in time to miss the last trolley so after walking from downtown San Diego all the way to lemon Grove I realized that they were probably going to cut me loose in a couple hours anyway and that these people probably knew that anyway and that's why they offered to get me out for so little money so I'm going to pay them $1,000 for six hours of freedom is what it boils down to there was no reason to keep me anyway and all of my stuff is misdemeanor they were going to let me go anyway that may not seem like that big a deal it may seem like well that's on me shame on me but when they operate with the police knowing that you're going to be getting out anyway and knowing that they can post a bond of all the money because you're going to be released in a couple hours they don't worry about that you know they just take the couple Grand take the couple Grand they get it from everybody that calls that's why when no one else wanted to touch me touch my Bail bonds cuz I have no proof of income they jumped on it damn oh yeah 2,000 bucks man no problem get a couple hundred bucks to get you out tonight of course they didn't get me out until my 72 hours was up and then they got into my Field property and put something in it or let somebody else put something in it without making any record of it they also gave me no type of paperwork whatsoever to go along with the bail to even say how much it is it says on this paper that I have here bail fees $0.85 that's all I've got San Diego sheriff department Bill receipt so to me it seems like I don't know them any money and maybe they owe me my deposit back I don't know if that's the truth or not but it sure seems like it should be I'd be the way to make it right I know I'm not I don't have very much money I work for myself and in these times of covid and everything else it's hard to find work the little bit of money I make I really can't afford to give to somebody who's just taking advantage of people like this it's bad business is what it is it should be against the law I think it is against the law but we're going to find out soon because hopefully somebody else will see my review and maybe the same thing happened to you you know they take advantage of your not knowing stuff and they're supposed to be there to help you and it's b******* people can't afford to give away money especially if it's the holidays holy crap man it's b******* and they work hand in hand with the police I think it's owned by the police or some other like that because on my bill receipt it says the bond company is other it's ridiculous when you can't trust someone to at least let you know what's going on when you're dealing with them especially in This company has to be made up of a bunch of challenged indiciduals who know less than I do about the booking live scan and warrant clear and posting bail/bond services. ultimately using a bond company to pay a portion of the 10percent of the amount in total bail in order to foot the amount in total by following the payment plans and other stipulations the company holds you to, but this sorry excuse for a bail bond company called me around 8am, texted me from private employee cell phone numbers regarding down payment of a minor 50 dollars, and since I lived far and was running late I gave MATT my American Express card over the phone and he took my payment, the inmates property, and low and behold since they are unorganized, unprofessional and incompetent much to his surprise the inmates bond was in process prior and he claims to know not a thing about this and has yet to refund my money on to my card that has now fully processed. After speaking to multiple "managers" and being yelled at because my phone was not up loud enough for his slow processing brain to comprehend or whatever the issue was, I was told to speak to the morning manager pertaining my refund! The audacity and kiddish behavior, not to mention stupidity of charging a cosigners Amex via phone and not even bothering to check status of release of inmate in question is mind boggling. If you want to get robbed, and possibly accused of making up stories when my billing statement clearly says Bad Boy Bail bonds along with company info, this is the company for you! I see a civil suit in the near future or a refund or I was basically lead to believe I was paying for services that were not intended to be fulfilled to begin with.
