I felt a moral obligation to share my experience. While dealing with a severe, throbbing toothache, and 2 visits over 2 weekends for cleaning and fillings, the clinic claimed they submitted a prior authorization request for me for a root canal. I waited for 2 weeks and finally called my insurance company directly, and they confirmed they never received anything from this office , and I also don't see any update on my insurance app, and UHC ask me to call this clinic again to confirm and the receptionist immediately told me oh the request is denied. Because I was in extreme pain for a couple of days over the weekend and needed to go to urgent care immediately on a Monday morning, I repeatedly verified my email address with the receptionist so the doctor could send over my X-rays and referral, so I don't have to do the second time x-ray within a such short time for health purpose. The doctor and the receptionist kept lying, claiming it was sent, and actually had the audacity to scream at me over the phone, and I still have received absolutely nothing. I even noticed they have a sign posted on the wall telling patients to pay to get their own X-ray results when I was getting treatment in the clinic. Why do they claim that they sent over the results to the insurance company and me and we all just never receive it. What are the reasons behind this. When I ended up not receiving my results from them and had to get a new one done another dentist told me he doesn't see an infection on the roots on my teeth that's hurting and used different treatment to keep my nerve and teeth and it is not hurting anymore. I also observed they make people have long wait times but very rushed procedures. The doctor spent minimal time on my dental cleaning and filling and showed extreme impatience when I had to ask her multiple times to adjust my bite correctly. Even I left there for couple days my eating and biting still feel very uncomfortable. They left a patient in agonizing pain stranded without their medical records while being verbally aggressive and impatient treatments. Extremely unethical. please avoid at all cost. read more

If I had the time, money, and patience, I would have sued this dentist already. SHE NEEDS TO BE IN JAIL. I saw her in 2025, approximately 8 months ago, and am still dealing with the consequences of this visit. On my first visit, she did x-rays and cleaning. She advised me that I had several cavities that needed to be filled, left and right side. She also was extremely pushy about doing silver fillings. I expressed multiple times that I wanted white and had to argue and convince her to do what I wanted for my own teeth. Mind you, I've had both silver and white fillings before and have had zero issues before with either option. Another dentist I saw later suggested that she may have been pushing silver in order to charge more. Anyway, we schedule my fillings for the left side. A week after I get about 3 fillings on my left side, I notice that a TON of food keeps getting stuck between my teeth and it's impossible to floss. She explains I need to use a water pick and I can't use regular thread floss anymore (literally what???) I realize that while she was doing my fillings (which were on the side/wall of my teeth, she never used spacers (those square rings they place around your teeth so that the filling for one teeth doesn't touch your other teeth and you can still floss). Later, a huge chunk comes out of my mouth randomly - possibly a piece of filling, possibly part of my tooth, who knows. Now I have a huge chunk/hole in between my front molars. Another spot where food consistently gets stuck. I go to another dentist to see if he can repair this filling and maybe do the other fillings on my right side since I don't trust this dentist anymore. I ask to receive my x-rays before I go and that in itself is a huge hassle with the dentist/front desk refusing to send it, saying they sent it to the new dentist (but actually they didn't). I end up having to go in person to get a printed out copy of my x-rays because of how unreliable and ridiculous both the dentist and front desk lady are being. The new dentist looks at my teeth and the x-rays. He says he can fix it but I would be paying out of pocket since my insurance just paid for that filling. Additionally, he says he doesn't see any need for me to get any fillings on the right side at all. So basically she was trying to do unnecessary fillings on teeth that were perfectly fine? FRAUDULENT AND EVIL! it's months later and I'm still having so many issues on the left side of my jaw with so much food constantly getting stuck in my teeth that I have to floss immediately after every meal and it takes 10-15 minutes to fully clear it out. I just had my most recent appointment with a new dentist, and guess what, he also said that I have no new cavities but noticed huge gaps and issues with the fillings I have on my left side and will repair the fillings but because of how deep the gaps are on my left side, I not only have to pay for the filling but also for the additional antibiotic / additional injections that will end up costing me $300+ All this pain, discomfort and money because of one fraudulent dentist. DO NOT GO HERE! she is not a professional dentist and will do a horrible job. All her five star reviews look fake. Read her one star reviews for the truth! read more

Easily the worst dentist I have ever been to. When i made the appointment, I made it clear that the only reason that I was going was to have a night guard made because i grind my teeth. When I arrive, I reiterate this point. I am taken back and ask the dentist about the night guard. She glosses over it. I thought we weren't undertsanding each other because she had a heavy acccent and i figured that we weren't communicating well. I ask once more about the night guard, the dentist once again glosses over it. She started taking x-rays and i wonder why i needed them for a night guard. After x-ray 5, I ask. She says they don't make night guards. At this point my entire trip was a waste of time, but i figure since im here and my insurance covers it, I will proceed with the cleaning that she has erroneously assumed I was there for, despite literally 5 forms I had just filled out to the contrary, which she had just read. Bad idea. Here's a list of things that happened during the cleaning: 1. She insinuated that the jaw surgery I had recently made me look odd. 2. She gave me the fastest and roughest cleaning I have ever had in my life. I'm talking the spinning polisher was out of my mouth and hitting my lips multiple times because of how fast she was moving. It took less than 5 minutes and all my gums were bleeding by the end, which she blamed on me. 3. She said that my previous dentist did a terrible job because she saw plaque on my teeth. My previous dentist was an incredible doctor, one of the highest reviewed in the state, and I only switched away from him because I moved. 4. She also tried to tell me that my crown, which was installed by the previous dentist, was in wrong then tried to upsell me to buying a more expensive 3-d printed crown. No apology that her assistant told me blatantly wrong information. She was clearly just trying to turn over patients for money and I should have just left when it was clear I had been misled. They took care of me really well, and the dentist did an amazing job with my two root canals in one sitting (that's right, in one sitting). No pain at all. DO NOT EVER GO HERE! If I could give zero stars I would! I'm usually not one to write reviews but I went to this place based on the positive reviews that were posted. As a city employee, our dental sucks and I've heard horrific things about DC-37 providers. However, after doing some research and reading all the reviews, I thought this doctor was decent. Initially, my husband and I went somewhere that was not fully covered by DC-37. Due to financial reasons, we decided to go to her. I asked the other location to email the X-rays so new ones didn't need to be taken. Upon arrival at Dr. Shimuny's office, she and the newly hired receptionist were present. She stated she was "unable to open the X-rays sent and she would have to take new ones for my husband and I, which cost a total of $120. At this time, I agreed and paid the amount requested in order to receive care. While she was taking the X-rays she began to talk about things she saw on the X-rays sent to her from the previous location. A little confused about how she knew details of the X-rays she supposedly could not open, I questioned her on how she was aware of the work that needed to be done. She then stated, she was able to view them but not save them. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and trusted she would provide adequate service. During this time, Dr. Shimuny did all the work by herself, she did not have an assistant or a dental hygienist, which at the time I found odd based on my previous dental experience. After the X-rays were taken for myself, she went on to say I had "6 cavities that needed to be filled." This was a total different assessment from the other location which stated there were 4 cavities. Once again, I questioned her and she stated she would look more closely at the X-rays prior to my next visit and sent me to the front to talk to her receptionist. My husband then went to get his X-rays and felt very pressured and uncomfortable in Dr. Shimuny's presence. My husband was advised by his former dentist to remove a broken tooth before getting a cleaning to avoid a bacterial infection. As per my husband, she disregarded his concerns about a tooth being pulled and tried to push a cleaning treatment that he did not want. My husband was then informed to schedule a follow-up visit so that she can work on another tooth that needed a cap. Once again, I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and we scheduled a follow-up visit. On March 10, 2019, my husband and I went for our follow-up. My husband was taken first and he immediately walked back out upset. He told me to get my filling but he did not feel comfortable with this dentist. Against my better judgment, I went to her thinking she has been a dentist for several years and she cannot possible mess up a filling but I was wrong. Once again, she worked by herself with little to no assistance from the receptionist. She confirmed there were only 4 cavities and stated she would only be filling two. However, she drilled through three of my teeth in a row. She told me to put my Invisalign back in and not to take them off for a while. Therefore, I wasn't able to see the work that was done right away. After we left, my husband informed me that she was trying to push a cleaning once again instead of what was discussed during our last visit. I waited until the anesthesia wore off to eat and I noticed that she had filled straight through and I wasn't able to use floss in between my teeth. The next day, I was in so much pain that I was unable to eat from that side or floss. Mid-day, one of the fillings fell out and I had a hole in my tooth. I immediately had to go to another dentist to take care of it. This dentist, took X-rays and informed me Dr. Marina Shimuny had done a terrible job filling the tooth where the filling was hanging over my tooth and some had gotten into my gums (see attached pictures).
