Unfortunately they no longer take my insurance I was going to them for years all I can say is if they take your insurance this is the best place you could ever go. They honestly have a true concern for all their patients. You're never rushed and the work is impeccable if they ever start taking my insurance again I would go back to them as fast as I could say I need a cleaning. Dr Turk is one of the best dentists I've ever had. He gets work done quickly and with a high quality of care. Some reviews negatively reference his bedside manner, but perhaps his humor is misconstrued because I find him a pleasure to be around and I appreciate that he cares about easing the nerves of his patients. I have always been terrified of going to the dentist, but my experience here was beyond awesome. I highly recommend this place for your dental care. The only discomfort I felt, and it wasn't terrible, was the injections of Novocain. I would go back in a heartbeat. Beside the lack of discomfort, I was thrilled with all the treatment and care I received. And, the longest I waited for my appointment was 10 minutes. Highly recommend! read more

A week prior to my gums surgery an employee from Horizon Dental called me to inform me that my Union Insurance had approved the previously mentioned dental surgery. The day before my scheduled appointment - at or about 05:13 PM an employee called me to inform me that " Mr. you must pay $ 300 per quadrant ". The doctor himself, (Dr. S) told me "You can moan all you want, I will just ignore you" while I was in pain from the crowns. What doctor says this? This is sexual harassment. if i could give zero stars i would!!! i called to see what insurances they accept. i have a primary and a secondary insurance. the receptionist--both of them were rude,unprofessional, and egregious-no customer service training whats-so-ever!!!! she told me that i would have to pay for x-rays..i asked her why when that is covered under my insurance. she paused and then put me on hold and stated " let me go ask the doctor" the young woman left me on hold on an hour. i had to call from an alt phone just to be greeted by her rude-and unprofessional co worker-they are a bad representation for this dentist. she had the audacity to tell me that even though we accept both fof your insurance that we could not service you because have been seen by another dentist. i said excuse me? i stated i am looking for a dentist that my insurance will accept as a new patient. what are you talking about? she stated the doctor will tell me the same thing in a rude and un-professional under-tone. she also left me on hold for. an hour. i called back and i was greeted by the dentist/doctor who refused to identify himself. he was also rude but asked for my insurance information and stated he could book me ffor an appointment in april, which is ridiculous. the previous rude receptionist told me that i coiuld come in this friday. the stories and rudeness just continues and im nnot even a patient-im so happy i didnt confirm the appointment, if this is the hospitality that is offered over the phone, i can only imagine just how bad the service must be!!!!! run for the hills and avoid this place and your cost and your insurance's cost by all means!!!!!! this place is a complete zero on all accounts!!!!! read more

I went to this practice with my son for many years and it was excellent. The dentists were thoughtful and professional; the office staff was outstanding. Sadly, that seems to have changed dramatically in the past few months. The office is unorganized. I tried twice to get a routine cleaning appointment -- I had to wait for two weeks; then the appointment was more than 45 minutes late. After the first one was so late, I gave up and late so I don't know when they were actually going to see me. The worse part was the office staff clearly didn't care. I am very sad to see this practice go downhill. It was a good experience in the past. read more

Dr Turk handled us with such consideration and care! His staff and everyone was so helpful. We were coming with a horror story from a previous specialist for my 12 year old sister who has been in terrible pain. He explained to us everything, made sure my sister knew what that was going on and despite not being able to do surgery right then and there, eased her pain so she can eat for the first time in a week! we went to SO many other dentist and he was the only person to treat us as people and care for her. not only did he tend to her, but made her feel relaxed in what has been an overall uncomfortable teeth experience. walked in frustrated and left feeling relieved and understood. highly recommend!! read more

Absurdly long wait times...1 hr + ... decent care aside from that.

I was not happy with their service. My son was charged for a crown that was never received. Prior was told needed to come back when fist doctor said needed crown. Then was told to come in and Dr. Hanna said my son needed root canal. They never recommended anyone and had my son get a root canal and crown in Florida which doctors and staff were very professional and caring. Dr.Hanna's office charged for crown which was never done. I have contacted my insurance about this fraud. The staff also said that impression for crown was not covered and charged me on my credit card. I called my my insurance and they said this was covered. Mind you the individual kept arguing with me. Later the following week since my son needed to go somewhere else for treatment they returned my money. My wife went there too and was told needed work on he teeth which I saw them right needed treatment for crown, root canal etc. Since I sent emails how unsatisfied I was and requested copies of her xray they insisted I needed a release which my wife did sign HEPPA form to release infor to me. It took over a month for them to send copies of x-rays and then tell me doctor said she not need treatment on her teeth. This doctor I would not use at all and I consider a fraud and lier. I have never given a bad review as a business owner but if I can give a zero I would. Be aware of this business because it appears only wants to make money and rip off people. I am in the process ti file complaint with NYS Dental Association. I also went for myself and was not happy with my teeth cleaning. I found another dentist who us caring and professional. I thought I already wrote a review for this place but I guess not. I love this dental practice. I started coming a few years ago after a horrible experience at another place. And it was like night and day. They did not try to rob me or charge me for things I did not need. Every person I interacted with there is professional and pleasant. The hygienist is so friendly and would make small talk while she cleaned your teeth. And Dr. Filippo has a very laid back sense of humor, he answers your questions, doesn't pressure you to get procedures done and then sends you on your way. My insurance recently changed and I won't be able to keep going to this dental practice which makes me really very sad. read more

Quick review 430pm appointment 53 min before im taken into xray room which is a corner right by the bathroom with a ragged office chair and ancient equipment.17min xray with multiple retakes. first girl kept messing up. I have been a patient of Dr. Fillipo Sperandio for over 14 years, since 2003 when I lived in Kew Gardens. During a 5-year hiatus in Miami, I had significant dental work done, which upon my return to New York, was examined by Dr Sperandio who opined, prophetically, would need to be re-done and/or repaired. From both cost & quality standpoints, the necessity to redo/repair work by a team of "highly-cited dental professionals" merely served to reinforce, clearly by comparison, Dr Sperandio's superior professionalism. Beyond his consummate mastery of the technicalities of dentistry, Dr Sperandio also has an uncanny intuition, often making judgment calls, and recommendations, that I can only describe as purely instinctual. He has an ability to assess the situation, on several occasions "following his gut", successfully pulled off procedures that the dentists of Miami had explicitly stated were impossible. This intuition, while no doubt honed by decades of practice, is something one either has, or doesn't. And Dr Sperandio has it in spades, making him a dentist in a caliber of his own. Take this from someone who has three implant bridges, and about 20% of his teeth still with live roots. A son of a cardiac surgeon, a brother of a haematolic oncologist, and a practicing architect, I am thoroughly fascinated with the surprising commonalities of our professions. Often to Dr Sperandio's dismay as I pester him to take photos, and show me the "hardware being installed" in my jaw. His sense of humour, coupled with an unflappable disposition and patience in dealing with a recalcitrant, stubborn patient, who ofttimes, in Dr Sperandio's words "self-practices dentistry - yes, crazy glue absolutely works - has kept me returning to him faithfully, even with a subway ride of an hour each way, from where I now reside in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Like most i hate going to the dentist. I had a part of my back tooth chipped off and decided to visit this place since it was close to me and took my insurance. The scheduling was great, the lady was able to pencil me in around noon for an appointment. The xray was like was most people said. I wouldnt say there were many retakes but they took more than what i was accustom to. The dentist was amazing. Kept me in the loop of what he was gonna do and ask me if i was ok after each part which comforted me. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience. I have a followup appointment in 2 weeks and hopefully it goes as well. Highly recommended. read more

I came here because it was conveniently located to my home and I was in need of a cleaning and xrays. I booked my appointment by phone and was easily able to get a convenient appointment. They stay open late-ish and are open on Saturday's which helps for my schedule. The cleaning went well but was nothing out of the ordinary. My xrays revealed I needed a few fillings so I had to make 2 additional appointments. I had my fillings done by Dr. Terk and he was great! Sitting down for fillings is never fun, but he made me feel very comfortable by casually explaining what he was about to do as a polite warning and he was funny in a way that put me at ease. Both assistants/hygienists that worked with him (I had to go twice) were very friendly and confident. I was very happy with my experience and would highly recommend having work done with Dr Terk. Additionally, there was little to no wait time once I checked in with the receptionist. Even though I am planning to move from this neighborhood, I would make it a point to come back to this location regardless. read more

This is an unprofessional business establishment. Having both a dental and medical background I know a thing or two about dentistry. They are probably one of those very few dental offices that still use you non-digital xray units. But that's not a big deal. The hygienist saw me first and did an overall good cleaning. Then, the general dentist, Dr Sperandino, comes to do an exam. He pokes around and then tells me that I have a big filling and it must be converted to a crown. Maybe it's because I have one of the better dental insurances. Regardless, I've had that filling for over 15 years and it is intact and well done. Keep in mind I say this as someone who who has a DDS himself - I know clinical dentistry well, especially to know what an adequate filling looks like. Anyway, I brushed it off and told him that the filling was fine. I return in six months for a cleaning which is followed by an exam. Sure enough, he again mentions the the filling to crown conversion, and drilling away healthy tooth structure. Again, I brushed it off and went to pay my co-pay. The receptionist then told me that I must sign a form stating that I refuse to have the crown done. This to me was ridiculous. I had the dentist come out and bluntly mentioned what my professional background was. He was a bit taken back but wouldn't let up. I asked to see the form and it was a 'consent to treatment' form with crown-and-bridge work was checked off!!! I thought I was supposed to sign a 'refusal of treatment' form?!?! Only word of advice I can give is be cautious. Most patients don't know what they do or don't need. Getting a second opinion doesn't hurt. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more
