If I could give it a 0 star I would!! This is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST REHAB my family member has ever been in She got WORSE instead of better.!!! My mother was in this facility, and I visited my mom every weekend. She had Alzheimer's. One day, Pam, the social worker, called me at work at 4pm. Apparently, my mom had been raging all morning and afternoon. Rather than call me when the raging started, she had her sent to Saint Elizabeth's psych ward and started using the term FTD to describe her condition. She said she had never seen such violent behavior. (My mom was 5'2" tall and about 105 pounds, mind you.) Since I worked for the Alzheimer's Association at the time (which is probably the real reason my mom was sent out, as I was fully aware that this facility did not have the required activities programming to market itself as having an Alzheimer's unit but did so anyway), I called contacts at McLean and had her transferred there. Her doctor there said my mom had no business being in a psych ward. She had Alzheimer's type dementia, and her behaviors were relatively common. I had her transferred to Newton Wellesley Alzheimer's Center, and the staff there cared for her lovingly and with tremendous empathy and kindness until she passed away yesterday. I'm writing this review now because I don't want any family to have to suffer through what we went through. If you are absent and don't really care about your loved one with dementia, then choose Golden Living Center in Dedham. However, if you love your mom or dad and plan on visiting regularly, then place your parent somewhere else. You will sleep better, trust me. read more

Please do not send anyone that you love to this facility. The care that my grandmother received was HORRIBLE.. we told the staff on Friday that we believed she has a UTI, it wasn't until MONDAY that they finally ran labs and found we were correct. She was dirty when we arrived and we had to wash her ourselves. The bedding was absolutely disgusting, and not washed and asking a cna or nurse to do anything that was included in their job description was nearly impossible. I am so so happy that my grandmother is out of her, but I feel so horrible for those who are still here. It's outdated, the staff does not do their job, and it's dirty. My mother was transferred here just 24 hours ago. It's the weekend so transferring her is difficult. I cannot get her out of here fast enough! It's filthy, outdated and the staff is rough and mean! Do NOT send your loved ones here, PLEASE! They didn't answer her call light and left her on her bed pan for over 6 hours last night until she removed herself! While I was there, her roommate fell and hit her head in the bathroom....they left her on the floor until an ambulance arrived!!! I'm sure they only called an ambulance because I was a witness and told them she hit her head. I know the protocol because I am in the medical field. This place is an absolute disgrace! The walls in her room were falling apart!!! Bugs in the bathroom! Staff rough and mean! Hideous! read more

Worst place ever! The staff was horrible, obviously they hated their job and took it out on the patients. I found out after that my mom was paying the staff to be nice to her. I eventually took her out of that place. read more

Warning do not send love ones here. My dad just got here last night I came to visit in morning and he complained no one would respond when he hit call button. I verified we waited 40 min. Nurse finally came in and brought his.medication. I asked about a certain med and what it was to which the nurse responded she didn't know. My dad explain for pneumonia I said to nurse how do you not know what med is for? She said it's for pneumonia. I said yeah I know I hear my dad say that to my question is why you don't know. The faculty is old dated I cannot find a positive word and it's only been 12 hours here. Do a tour before sending anyone here. read more
