I just had to come here and vent about what happened to me today Not sure who the people that work at golden meds in Montbello think they are but the "service" or lack thereof, was it for me! Every time I try to give this place a chance since they've expanded into their new space, my experiences have gotten worse and worse but occasionally the product is pretty good so begrudgingly I kept returning. They all seem miserable af to work there, and cherry pick who they choose to provide halfway decent service to. And then they treat you as though you're soooo beneath them because they work with weed and have some stupid badge!..............BIG WHOOP! ****NEWS FLASH***** The industry isn't what it's cracked up to be and there's certainly NO MONEY * NO PERKS * in it unless you're the owner (or in with the owner) so they all need to calm down and come down off their funky little high horses because I ain't just anybody, and I'm pretty sure that I live better than all of em while they tryin to minimize somebody! Anyway, I asked if they had any of my preferred type, and the lackluster, "high" seeming budtender girl just pointed at jars at the bottom inside the case and expected me to choose from there without even checking it out. So I asked her to bring them out so I could inspect them. Well, you've thought that I asked her to harvest it and trim it! She sighed all loud and brought out the jar and pretty much slammed it on the counter. Then she brought out another jar saying it was also my preferred type but I noticed on the jar that it wasn't. It was "hybrid" and she said it was the same as my type, but it wasn't, plus it was more expensive. Again....I digress.............So I started to request the amount of the shake that I wanted, saying "I'd like a sample of........ before she rudely interrupted me, fussin & sayin; "oh we don't do samples!" "you gotta buy it!" I said, "I'm asking for what I'm choosing to spend, not a free sample!" I asked for $25 of shake but she refused. Saying that "they don't do that!" So, I asked "you all don't work with the customer at all?" And then the little skinny, sick lookin dude workin with her, he was either lead or the mgr. came and chimed in, backing her up and telling me "no!" that the system wouldn't let you break it down like that or some bs! Instead of him correcting her, they together wouldn't accommodate me! Told me I had to buy $35 worth (their OTD price) or nothing! And to boot, the shake was rag weed that looked like trash with tons of stems in it! When I commented on that, the little (stank attitude) chick budtender told me "yeah, shake is gonna be stemmy". I guess I must look like Boo Boo the Fool to her First of all, that's bs! I don't know who th she thought she was talking to! I'm a connoisseur from the 70's and been smokin everyday since then, probably older than her mama! Second of all, I've dabbled in working in the industry and don't know who could've possibly told her such a ludicrous thing! And even more ridiculous that she'd repeat it to a customer thinking they wouldn't know any better!! Third of all, I normally go to MAGIC CITY just up the street, about a mile south just past I-70 off Peoria, but thought, "hey, let me switch it up today and go to golden meds, I haven't gone there in a minute". TERRIBLE IDEA!!!!!!! Money ain't a thang for me to cap out several dispensaries in a day, however, I choose to tread lightly, then dive in if it's fire! That's how I do, if you know what I mean. So, I said "thanks" and WALKED RIGHT TF OUT! Well I've been going to GM long enough to know that they used to accommodate the customer with whatever they wanted to spend. When did things change to not giving the customer what they ask for? But all of that to simply say........I'm never ever going back to those hood drug dealers style golden meds in Montbello because that's what they are. DEFINITELY NOT A DISPENSARY! Not spending my hard earned money to be treated mediocre when I can be treated with respect like I deserve! I ended up going to MAGIC CITY (my preferred dispensary, the deals can't be beat) with my $25 and they were more than accommodating! They also know me because I spend big $$$ there at MAGIC CITY. But the great thing was, they had shake that was testing 35% vs. GM whose stemmy, rag, trash shake was only testing 23% at best so.......... Came in yesterday afternoon with my husband. Right away I said hello when we walked in the door. The man (bald with lots of rings) who checks IDs didn't say a word back or make eye contact with us. We both handed him our IDs. He looks at my husband's for a second and looks at him a few times. My husband's grandmother just passed away and in their religion, they shave their heads and facial hair including eyebrows. Now instead of just checking our IDs and sending us on our way, he starts telling my husband that he needs to go get a new ID because his is bent. He said he needs to go to the DMV and get a Colorado ID. Then goes on to say he needs to download some app because he won't be let in if it's cracked. Now mind you, he acted as if we wouldn't be let in THIS time. I tried explaining to him that we literally just came in a few days ago and had zero trouble with the SAME ID. He then says he's not the enemy and gives us our IDs back. Now, it's not what he said, it was how he went about saying it. Again, no greeting or welcome but instantly start going off about something that isn't an issue at the moment. After handing us our IDs another customer walked up to be helped. We thought we were finished so we start to walk towards the door and he raises his voice to tell us not yet. Exactly how we were supposed to know to wait is beyond me. At this point, I turned to my husband and told him we won't be spending any money in this place. We left. We were here visiting (with out of state IDs) because of a family emergency. Love this place for reasonably priced dabs. Racked up my points got a shake oz got home. Opened it. This isn't shake lol this is trim. Shouldn't mislead people it's cool I'm making it into edibles. I've been going to golden meds the for almost 4 years now and I don't think I have ever been so disappointed in my life. I bought an eighth of their ghost og and when I grinded some of it up for a joint it had all of these seeds (all the seeds in the image are from just a gram.) fall out of the bud. I do understand you may get a seed every now and then but this is ridiculous. This is the worst experience I have ever had at a dispensary. I used to recommend them all the time telling people to try your godfather og or some the 14er brands but honestly with time they have fallen downhill. After walking a mile there and a mile back to tell them I got treated like crap and told not my problem. The never answer the phone said it's an issue but I've heard that for the last year. The prices are not as listed and neither is the thc% on the container. On top of this the flower they have is subpar and normally sondry it crumbles as soon as you touch it. I've been coming up here every two weeks for the last 5 months. While the quality of the weed is good, the quality of the people working has greatly declined. My wife and I went yesterday, and as soon as we were let in, the lady in the red tracksuit snapped at me to remove my sunglasses when I was already reaching to do so. My eyes are very light sensitive, and it was very bright in the waiting area, so yeah I kept my sunglasses on. Then once our names were called, the guy helping us (I believe his name was Jorge) had a bit of an attitude when it came to packaging the product. We each wanted a quarter of the same strain, and specified that. Normally, the person helping us understands that to mean two separate containers, but Jorge decided to put it in one bottle, until we asked him to split it. Never had an issue before yesterday. And his apparent reason was just because his manager wouldn't like it. I might pay more elsewhere, but I'm definitely not coming back to this location anymore.... Yesterday's experience left a horrible taste in my mouth. Will not recommend to anyone anymore. read more

As a semi frequent traveler to the Denver area, I've been to quite a few dispensaries. This was the very first time I've felt unwelcome in ANY place I've been to (dispensary or not). Once the ID process was completed, my wife and I entered the store to a tall black guy who was neither friendly nor welcoming. Received a quick, these are buds, these are edibles song and dance and then walked away. So while browsing, I was startled when the same guy yells at me saying 'Young man, don't cross that line (two stickers on the floor) or I'm gonna have to tell people why I had to drag you out.' What part of that statement is remotely professional? Who are you going to ATTEMPT to 'drag' out? So after a laugh in his face, I decided to take the high road and not get into any altercation with a salesperson who has too much ego and not enough sense. As for the selection, it was pretty good. All of the same stuff you'd find in any other dispensary. Nothing for the kid behind the counter to be an asshole about. Given that Texas hasn't legalized, we were both really curious about what these types of shops look like/offer so we walked across the street from terrifying Timbers hotel to get a closer peek. She looked at us expectantly whilst barring the door and we stared back with zero idea what she was waiting for. Then she demanded our IDs, scanned them and told us to get in line. Got the stink eye as we pointed and snooped and then she snapped at us when we accidentally walked over to the medical side. Though we didn't purchase product, we were amazed at the crazy variety of it in store. Looked like there were edibles and drinkables and mints and just tons and tons of the green stuff. We didn't purchase product (obvz) and left soon after getting the proverbial eyeful. You're probably going to get a lot of people who come over from the aiport-esque hotels to gawk around. If that makes you impatient, having some kind of intro or literature might help avoid the problem. I was very disappointed in the quality of the medical cannabis here.The "buds" available for eighths and up, were mostly shaky looking, poorly trimmed, and didn't smell very good. I decided to go ahead and buy the 4 joint party pack. It's supposed to have four one gram joints in it. That means one gram of cannabis per joint. With the paper cone filter, three of the joints weighed in at one gram or less, and one weighed 1.3 grams. I would not recommend any other med patients to this dispensary. read more
