When I contacted the salon, their response was incredibly disappointing. My options were to come back in (which I don't have time for) or receive a discount for a future visit -- as if I would trust them again after this. Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed the polish... which was chosen by the nail tech, not me. That says everything about their level of accountability. Prime nail bar is very spacious, looks to be very clean, and we did not wait more than 5 minutes as walk in. The man who did my pedicure didn't handle ingrown nails the best, but he was pleasant and polite. I could tell he and the woman who did my boyfriend's pedicure were talking about us from time to time in their language. (Very common but it was NOT subtle). The owner was up front at the counter greeting customers, she seems to be very involved and she is so polite. I definitely wouldn't mind giving Prime another chance. Unfortunately, my recent experiences at Beverly Nail Salon have left me feeling singled out and treated differently in a way that is deeply troubling. Over multiple visits, I noticed a consistent difference in how I was treated compared to other customers. Basic courtesies that were routinely extended to others--such as a greeting upon entering, the ability to make an appointment, and the offer of a complimentary beverage--were not extended to me. I observed these same courtesies being offered to other customers during the same visits. I am respectful, pleasant, low-maintenance, and I tip very well. I do not cause disruption, nor have I ever been anything but appreciative of the service providers themselves. When I respectfully raised my concern and expressed that I simply wanted to be treated the same as other customers, the situation unfortunately escalated rather than improved. I was later declined the ability to make an appointment altogether, something I had always been allowed to do prior to speaking up. It pains me to even consider the reason for this difference in treatment, but based on my observations, the only noticeable distinction between myself and those who were consistently treated with kindness and respect was race. This is not an accusation I make lightly, and I have never felt the need to raise race as a factor in service before. However, after repeated experiences and respectful attempts to address the issue directly, I can no longer ignore the pattern.
