Olga is the best in the business!! Her work is perfection. That is the only word to describe the final outcome of my wedding dress. I asked for extra fabric to be added to the sides of the dress, because it felt a bit nude. We also had some blue fabric cut from a departed family members tshirt and stiched into the lining of the wedding dress. This not only acted as something blue, but was there for the family as well. This cost was rolled into the alterations I had requested. My wedding was in October, I called in Feb for an appointment. I had about 6 appointment's with Olga. That seamstress was unresponsive to my calls and emails the week of the wedding. In addition some of her stitching was coming undone. Due to a lot of circumstances, I didn't have time to look for a new wedding dress. It wasn't my first wedding so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I ordered a dress on Amazon and it came in on time. I tried it on and it fit, but it was far too long. During this time, my daughter pulled out my original wedding dress. I tried it on, but it did not fit in the bust area. I asked for recommendations for a seamstress through Facebook and called several. Some did not have any availability, some were way too expensive, and the then there was Olga from the Golden Needle. I explained my two dress situation and the fact that I was getting married in just a couple of weeks. Instead of laughing at me or telling me to go elsewhere (as others had done) she told me to come in the very next day with both dresses. When I met her the next day, she could not have been more wonderful. She was kind, warm and accommodating. She had me try on my original wedding dress and told me that she thought that would work just fine and that I really didn't want a dress from Amazon for my wedding day (which she was correct about.) She told me to come back in a week which I did. The dress fit like a dream and she told me she didn't want me to have to wear a dress from Amazon and would make this one perfect for me. I came back a few days later to a dress that not only fit, but was in a new garment bag and had been cleaned and pressed. Every step of the way, Olga was truly AMAZING. I could not recommend her or the Golden Needle more! I truly felt like a bride and my dress got so many compliments on my wedding day. DO NOT GO HERE! I can't even put into words how frustrated and upset I am with my experience here. Went to get my bridesmaid dress altered and everything was smiles and rainbows up until the day before I was told to pick up my dress, I got a call saying it wasn't finished and to come by in 5 days (which was fine, I still had some time before the wedding). So I show up the day they told me it was going to be ready at 3pm and I walk into the store with my bridesmaid dress hanging up with the pins still in it unfinished, not even touched. Already being stressed about the wedding and having a million other things to do I got very upset and started to cry because my dress being unfinished one week before I needed it and was leaving the state was not ideal. KEEP IN MIND- they've had my dress for almost 4 weeks at this point. The seamstress told me that she has recently had several health issues which I understand but what I didn't understand is why no one called me to let me know that my dress wasn't finished and the fact that none of the other four woman I saw working could finish it in time. Fast forward to the next day, I get a call saying my dress is finished so I go in try it on and leave quickly because if I had said anything or expressed how I felt I would have just cried. Now it's the wedding day, I put on my dress and the hook immediately falls off, I look closely at the bottom and there are loose string galore. I brought my wedding dress here to be altered by Olga. She is the warmest woman and is incredibly gifted at what she does! She was very accommodating during my three appointments. I noticed that everyone who walks in, she seems to have a great relationship with (hugs them, knows them by name, asks how the event went) and everyone becomes a returning customer after his/her first alteration! I gave her a huge hug after she finished my dress, which had 2 layers of lace and 1 silk fabric- 3 layers total. Overall, Olga did a good job on my wedding dress alterations. I was fortunate to not need many alterations on my dress. I'm giving the shop 3 stars because when I went to pick up my dress two days before my wedding, no alterations had been made from appointment #2 (six weeks prior). The shop had my dress hanging on a hook in the bag and expected me to pick it up without trying it on -- I'm so glad I insisted on the try-on! Olga was apologetic and did final alterations for me right there in 20 minutes. In the end, my dress fit fairly well, but the final alterations were obviously rushed so it was not perfect. I also wish I had asked Olga for a bustle tutorial for my American bustle; it was hard to replicate day-of, which caused me to miss a good portion of my cocktail hour. I would still recommend Golden Needle for wedding dress alterations, but it'd behoove you to check in with the shop in advance of the final fitting. read more

Olga altered both of my wedding dresses as I had a ceremony and reception dress that I purchased from Head Over Heels in Mashpee, MA. My ceremony dress was an intricate sequin design that I was afraid would be hard to alter. However, Olga's work was flawless! I also made a last minute change to the top of the dress a week before my wedding which Olga did without a problem. She also did little touches such as adding clasps on the underside of the straps on my reception dress so that my bra straps wouldn't move. This is something I never would have thought of but probably would have bothered me when dancing! She is so warm and welcoming I honestly felt like I was visiting a friend rather than meeting her for alterations. This place is claiming to be Alberico's Alterations stating that they moved from Mashpee to this new location in Marstons Mills. They have the same phone number as Alberico's. They are giving Alberico's a bad name by doing TERRIBLE work and claiming to be the former Alberico's located in Mashpee! I picked up 3 shirts and 2 pairs of pants today that were hemmed. The job was very unprofessional. In fact, the work was something I could have done myself. How can they call themselves a professional business and charge money for such terrible work?? Two of the shirts look good. One shirt is about 1/2 shorter than requested - I had asked that all shirts be hemmed to 24 from the top of the front collar. The red shirt was a little over 23 . Both pants look terrible and are NOT what I asked for and showed them. I asked that they be hemmed to the thick hem already on the back of each leg and just carried around. They were hemmed about an inch below this and the hem doesn t match the existing hem. The tan pants: each leg has different color thread and stitching style. The green pants: one leg is longer than the other one. Both pants are not hemmed to where I indicated. When people bring their clothes for professional alterations they want it to look professional, like that s the way the pants were originally made. This looks like a child's practice job.
