I tried this place with a friend. One of the few Chinese restaurants with a buffet. The food was actually pretty good. Definitely feel in love with the pepper chicken. The place is family run and very well kept and actually has clean bathrooms. Plus I noticed the don't just pile the new food on the old like I have seen at some buffets. They actually take out the old and discard it. Definitely recommend giving them a try.

Love dining at the Golden Palace. Nikki and Yang are very accommodating, you can eat the buffet or order off the menu. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. They are sensitive to the covid pandemic and offer masks and hand sanitizer to customers who need it. Great place, please stop by and support these good people. read more

This is a small buffet, but has everything I wanted...soups, entrees, egg rolls, fried rice, salads and desserts. Sometimes I just want to get out of the house and don't need fancy. The restaurant and buffet area is clean. It's a great deal for the price. Will definitely return. read more

This is small little buffet, the staff and owners really don't speak to you. When they do though their pretty friendly. Food is great as long as it's stocked up and fresh! There are times we go in and the noodles are extremely dry. Try to go in when everything is fresh if it's not fresh you may be pretty dissatisfied with this place. I defiantly recommend you check out the bar before you decide to sit down and eat. read more

NEW OWNERS! There are some new dishes on the buffet and the service is so much better now!! Fast and very friendly staff. A noticeable improvement over the previous owners management style. Will definitely be coming back! read more

We just had the worst meal ever from Golden Palace. We ordered 2 sesame chickens, 1 sweet and sour chicken and 1 beef and broccoli. The chicken in the sesame chicken tasted like it had gone bad. The chicken in the sweet and sour was undercooked. The vegetables in the beef and broccoli were way undercooked. I honestly and truly got sick after trying to eat. Very disappointing. read more

Its a disappointment going to this buffet place. Food has no flavor, cooks are mexican, waitresses are chinese with no customer service. The only good food we got is the watermelon and crab ragoon. I will not be surprised if this restaurant will close soon. read more

When I was trying to order food they were not very nice. My rice was extremely salty and my noodles had some chicken in it and I don't eat chicken. I asked for no meat. The overall food was pretty disgusting and over priced. I would not recommend eating here to anyone. read more

The food is pretty good and the staff is very friendly and we rarely wait for a plate to be taken away or a drink refill. The atmosphere is nice too. My recommendation is go during lunch or dinner rush to be assured all of the food is at it freshest. They could keep the buffet a little better stocked and add a little variety to it. I enjoy eating there and will certainly return. read more

Having said that, I did get a dish and it was pretty good. They use some quality firm tofu and I got a freshly prepared dish. It wasn't an authentic numbing Sichuan dish but it was spicy and savory, and I liked the vegetables it came with. The place is cash only, and it does not feel like there are any plans to modernize it in any respect. The limitations are considerable, but I got decent food.

It is very small, with about fifteen stools wrapping around a classic service counter. According to the menu, the diner is a "One-Master Model 15-Stool Valentine steel building," made by Valentine Manufacturing Company of Wichita, Kansas, in 1955. They have a small parking lot in back of the diner. I parked there and then saw a bathroom entrance sign -- after a 2 1/2-hour trip, nature was calling. It is a very clean bathroom located at the rear of the building, with a separate entrance from the parking lot. There is no access to the restroom from inside the diner -- a unique and nostalgic feature you don't see much anymore. I walked around to the front of the building, entered, sat down on a stool, and was greeted with, "Y'all having a good day so far?" I had a half sweet/half unsweet tea and the Cheeseburger Deluxe with no mayonnaise. It came with lettuce, tomato, pickle chips, onions, French fries, and cole slaw. I put ketchup on the fries, but the fresh tomato alone provided plenty of flavor for the juicy, delicious burger. The French fries were crispy and delicious -- exactly what you hope for at a classic diner. The cole slaw was outstanding and clearly tasted homemade. The pies looked incredible, and because the cheeseburger platter was so good, I had a piece of blueberry buttermilk cake topped with whipped cream -- wow! There is also a clearly posted 3% surcharge if paying with a credit card. Prices are reasonable, so it didn't feel like an issue. This was a great overall experience, and I would recommend this classic, nostalgic mid-20th-century diner to anyone traveling through Farmville. It closes at 2 pm, so plan accordingly!
