We were planning on homeschooling but I still wanted our kids to start with some school environment experience. Smyrna Montessori School was everything we were looking for. My children get lots of individual attention, are encouraged to explore and learn as much as they want and have had some wonderful friendships develop. There is a strong sense of respect modeled through kindness towards the teachers, classmates, learning materials and the world (cultures, the environment). The teachers love my children like they were their own and are passionate about the Montessori style of learning. Both of my children have gained a lot of confidence and independence since they began there. If I ever have a question I can set up a time to talk with any teacher. I'm always impressed with how aware they are of everything my child deals with on a daily basis, what their strengths are, how much progress they have made in areas of behavior, character and learning. I do wish they extended beyond the Primary program (3-6 years). I don't think there is any problem with illness any different than any other school environment. I don't love that the lead toddler teacher spot has changed hands a few times, but I understand that when a teacher has a baby she will want to take time to be with her new baby. This has been the only reason for teachers leaving that I am aware of. Those teachers have stayed in contact with the school and return for visits when possible. We feel very fortunate to be at Smyrna Montessori School and are so happy it opened at the perfect time for our kids. And as far as safety goes, our children are referred to as precious gifts, children are not allowed out of the classroom unless a teacher or parent is with them and the school and yard are secured during the day. I have no concern for my children's safety at all. Montessori is a different approach to learning than what a lot of people are used to, but for us it has been perfect. Oh, and I LOVE that I get an email and photos every week from each of my kids teachers touching on what the kids are working on and enjoying and some explanation about the Montessori process.

If you would have asked me my opinion of Primrose in 2023, I would have given them an extremely positive review. However, in 2025, I would not say the same. I pre-registered my youngest daughter for the 2025/ /2026 school year in February 2025. I paid the deposit in April 2025. However, despite my address being exactly the same in Procare as it was when my eldest daughter was previously enrolled, I never received registration paperwork from the school, despite my emailing and asking the new director, Danielle Nash, several times. When I went to the meet and greet about a week before school started, my daughter was not placed in a classroom. She did not have a seat, a backpack, or supplies ready. Not only this, but her name was spelled incorrectly, despite me spelling her name correctly on the pre- registration paperwork. It was at this point that I was already having a bad feeling about enrolling my daughter at Primrose. On the first day of school all of my daughter's things were tagged with the wrong name and she was called the wrong name all day despite her telling the teachers her correct name. The school is completely disorganized. When I reached out and emailed Miss Nash about my concerns, she did not reply. Not only did she not reply, but for the rest of the month my daughter was enrolled, she seemed to be giving me the cold shoulder. Everyone else at the front desk, Miss Odom, in particular, were extremely friendly and welcoming. The final straw for me was when my daughter fell at school. I understand accidents happen. However, I did not receive an incident report. I only received a brief message on Procare. The message did not stress how serious the injury was or how my daughter was feeling. Nobody cleaned or bandaged my daughter's wound. The level of thoughtfulness and care that used to be present at Primrose are no longer. I am not sure if it is the staff changes or management issue, but the school is extremely disorganized. I can no longer in good faith recommend the school.

To name a few, Ms. Carol and Ms. Carmen has taught her to be the smartest, sweetest, and most well-behaved kid from the start. Now, Ms. Jordan and Ms. Kelly has her well prepared for the next level. Everyday our daughter impresses us with what she has learned and is very excited to go back to school day after day. You wouldn't believe how many compliments we get when we're out, about how smart, polite, and well mannered she is. We definitely owe a large part of that to this school and its incredible how she stands out amongst other kids of her age. Believe me, you will definitely be able to tell the difference. The playground area is shaded and completely covered in turf. Because of that, I'm not worried about my daughter getting sunburned or scraped up while she's playing and having fun. The classrooms are filled with fun activities for the children and the bathrooms for the children are easily accessible for them. My daughter is currently enrolled in Pre-K and her teacher Ms. Stacie is great. My daughter looks forward to going to school everyday and playing with her friends and being around the staff.
