I've seen several different clinics at home, and I walked away from Alaia Physiotherapy impressed. First, I loved the fact that I could schedule my appointments online. It was easy to see who was free, their specialties, and their availability. It made it easy to schedule two appointments during the week I was in Vancouver. Secondly, I had hands-on time with the therapist for the entire appointment. The therapist didn't send me to do exercises independently (which is a necessary part of therapy). The therapist stayed with me the whole time - instructing, answering questions, and working on my injuries. I also got to experience a few modalities not common at home, which was a great experience. Lastly, I loved that everyone works with a therapist in a private office, giving you the freedom to talk about health information one-on-one. Alaia Physiotherapy is a class act. That's wholly owed to Dr. Rylee Stephens who is an excellent chiropractor. While I'd definitely recommend you pay her a visit, what you should watch out for is the outright disrespectful receptionist. The reason I subtracted two other stars is the straight up rude and unhelpful attitude of this receptionist. She can't even wait for me to finish talking before she starts talking over it. Not a single please or thank you in the last two weeks I've been there. Everytime I visit it looks as though I'm inconvenienceing her by making her do her job. To not have to deal with her multiple times a week is the reason I booked my physio and massage elsewhere. I'm not sure if she just has a problem with me or if she just lacks any and all people skills required to fill her position. If I had to suggest a replacement for her, It'd be literally anyone else.

I found Urban Active in the GLBA Directory, and sent them an email. Within a couple of hours, I had a reply, with all the details I needed. I was able to get an appointment for two days later, at the time that fit my schedule. Eric, the physiotherapist, was friendly and professional. He explained to me what he was doing, asked me relevant questions, and gave me a clear explanation of how to deal with my issues (the ones he could help me with, anyway). Examination, diagnosis and treatment - all in one session! Armed with good advice and a stretching regimen, I was not told that I have to comeback in a couple of weeks. Rather, it was more like, "Do what I've told you to do, and you shouldn't need to come back. If things are still not better, let me know." Superstar! Highly recommended!
