They have fajitas but that's actually Tex-Mex and what they had was not fajitas, any form that I know it. The other American in my group agreed since he actually had the mixed chicken and beef while I ordered the "veggie" fajitas. Mine turned out to be stir fry vegetables that I could add mozarella(?!!!!!) , some type of ranch(?!!!!), and salsa that looks like it's "been made in NYC" to my tortillas. No spice, no beans, and no rice. Yeah... and I was charged 13 euros for that. Normally I would give two stars given the lowered expectation of what I was going to eat but the service was poor. One of my friends waited an extra 10 minutes for her food compared to the rest of the group, the waitress was gruff, and my beers tasted like detergent.

I speak some (fragmented) German and the staff were very patient in putting up with this and attempted to speak English where they could which was further appreciated. Ordered a beer, sirloin and chips; with a desert and the total came to about €14. The food quality was outstanding and all of us agreed that it was some of the best food we could ever remember having - needless to say we returned the day after for the same meal as we were that pleased. Again, pretending that sad little salad never appeared. (honestly - epic piles of mayo does not make for a good 'dressing') The waitress was friendly, prompt and quite helpful. I enjoyed tipping her. The two guys sitting next to me ordered the Angus Burger - which looked AWESOME. Kinda grumpy I didn't get one of those myself... ok, not really. Next time for sure. Also: A table tent advertises a plate of wild North Sea mussels for 8,90. Thats gonna be a return trip item for sure.

I came in around 6:00 and it was starting to fill up. Rather than take a table, I sat at the bar near the front which had about six or seven seats. I got a beer right away and because I'd looked at the menu online (they have an English menu on their website) I knew I wanted the rib eye master cut. The steak came with a salad, which was good (although heavy on the raw onions, luckily I wasn't kissing anyone later) as well as a baked potato and garlic bread. The master cut comes with freshly grated horseradish that really added an extra boost to the already flavorful rib eye. The steak was tender and even though rib eyes are by nature fatty, this one had the flavor without too much extra fat. I liked it a lot. I also liked the extra sour cream they provided and ate every last drop! The waiter convinced me to order some chocolate lava cake for dessert and it was also good. In the US, they usually serve cake like that with a raspberry sauce and I'm just not a fan of raspberries. However, this came with a blueberry sauce which was perfect. The best thing is that for a beer, a big bottle of sparkling water, the steak and the cake, my total bill was €43 or just under $50 and that is what I would have paid for just the steak back in NYC. The service was also very friendly...maybe they get a lot of tourists or something but it was probably the friendliest service I had in all of Germany. I'm a big fan of the Block House!

The issue that I had is the burger was a bit more novel than it was functional, making it difficult to eat and a bit unfulfilling as a burger (for the burger eating experience, not the burger size).
