In Clarksville you don't have that many options for gyms. This is one of the better options especially for the price but it gets packed in the evenings and the gym itself isn't that big. Mornings are pretty busy but not too bad unless you want a stair master. There are four but one is usually broken and the other three will be taken. Also, I don't think the room where the classes take place has EVER been swept or mopped No sauna or pool I will add. read more

Rate increases are necessary for continued growth. What is unnecessary is constantly increasing the rate with little to no improvement to the facilities. The best Golds gym in Tennessee turns into The worse! BAD: Other than the head manager, they cannot hire anyone with decent personal skills. Unless they are talking you into a membership, they are some of the rudest people. I canceled my membership and currently only do week passes for when I need something conveniently close to home. There is always a machine (stair master) that is broken. The music is horrible! If you do not bring headphones, you will either hear, weird satanic rappers or happy go lucky Taylor Swift. Lastly, when is this place going to get a sauna? They were talking about that when I first moved in Clarksville in 2015. This is hands down probably one of the best gyms in Clarksville. There is such a large selection of everything that could be needed or wanted! Cardio Equipment: treadmills, stairs, elliptical, spin bikes, rowers. Weight lifting: Squat racks, free weights, accessory machines, etc. There are a multitude of Yoga, Spin, and Les Mills classes available as well. If one needs childcare, it is available as well. Overall the gym is quite clean and pushes forth the members help keep that up as well with spray bottles and paper towels to wipe down equipment frequently. (I have seen the water filter needed to be changed for almost a month now, so either we go through it quick or it's just being missed or needs to be reset.) The pricing is so cheap here and when I signed up they were very clear that freezing or cancelling would be easy if I wouldn't be in town for some time. Haven't had experience yet trying to freeze yet, but hopefully it will be as seamless as explained. You cannot beat 10 bucks a month with a service fee 1-2 times a year. (Can't remember the details on that.) It gets pretty crowded as soon as people start getting off off of work, so be prepared to have to wait on equipment or re-arranging your workout because it's too packed. Another plus is the nutrition shop inside! I love being able to grab a protein shake on my way out after a good lift. The chocolate pb banana(?) is a must try. read more

Update: They recently replaced the chest supported T-bar row and the hack squat. The new hack squat is very nice and smooth. They also got a few other new leg machines that are very nice. It took a while but now that they have them I am a lot happier customer. They do appear to be making a lot of changes for the better. If they replace the cable machine I will be completely content. Right now there is only one machine to do cable fly as they are repairing the only other machine that can be used for it. Hoping they get another station even if it's the machine that has the adjustable arms to do flys from the top, center and bottom. read more

Enjoyed Golds Gym for many years. Started with Golds in TX and continued in murfreesboro Tn.Never had any issues with gold's gym until I moved to clarksville Tn. Horribly packed with very little room. Cannot get a workout in time I need. When I stopped the membership Golds questioned me and needed a Dr. Note to have the membership canceled.. I came here for a week on business. And decided to go to the Gold's Gym here. equipment is excellent, you don't have to wait for anything because they have plenty of it. All the employees that I dealt with were awesome. I go to a brand new LA fitness in my hometown of Jupiter Florida but I like this Gold's Gym better. I work out here with my fiancé. We do enjoy going here, but I wish the building was cleaner, the equipment was more updated and the building had a better ventilation system. It always feels so stuffy when we workout. I also wish the cycling room was open outside of cycling classes so I could cycle in my workout (I hate the electronic stationary bike). Overall a pretty decent gym though, it does the job. One more thing- hopefully management sees this- most of the toilets in the women's restroom need to be serviced. I've tried multiple times to cancel membership both in person and via email and have been told that the "person" who does cancelations is not in and come back-which I did. Same thing. Then I spoke with someone via email (Lucas) who offered to take payment over the phone when I told him I did not feel comfortable with that he basically said there was nothing else that he can do until I pay the overdue amount that continued to rack up even after I attempted to cancel in person. I am attempting to contact their corporate office but, since franchise not a lot can be done. They know this and exploit it. I understand gyms get a bad wrap for being predatory with fees/contracts-but, if you go in person (twice) during normal 9-5 hours and the one person who can cancel is conveniently not available... then they continue to charge you. The gym is definitely one of the most subpar Gold's I've been to; it's only in front of the DC Gold's because the showers don't look like people were slaughtered in them. The equipment is DIRTY. I understand people don't wipe equipment down all the time but the cardio equipment shouldn't look like it's wiped down once a month. The gym smells terrible; this is coming from a person that been in gyms with shirtless, sweating, very large dudes. It seems like the staff just doesn't much care. I signed up for the gym and 6 classes during my short stay in Clarksville. The classes never had a chance to begin because the gym was closed immediately after I paid for services due to Covid 19. I had previously notified the membership coordinator about my short stay in the area hence only 6 sessions. I requested a refund of the classes I paid for as I no longer live in Clarksville. The owner denied my request and noted no refunds would be given for services already paid for. The funds were never exercised for any gym use or trainer services and should have been refunded. This is a decent gym besides the equipment being broken majority of the time. Walked in today was told I couldn't wear a crop too which my shirt is actually not a crop top it's a set that maybe has a forth of an inch of shin showing. But it's a little hypothetical to see men with tanks showing majority of their tits and nipples while I literally have no skin showing. The gym itself is great. Never had an issue with cleanliness minus the equipment having some ware and tears. Depending on the time, it can get packed but overall still a great gym. Would highly recommend it. Personal trainers on the other hand, I would never recommend. I honestly hired them just to find out what the hype was all about. $50 per session which last a total of maybe 15 mins. If you let them do their own thing, they will never call you and never follow up. Except to pull teeth to receive additional guidance. The review is a 3 star only because of the personal trainers. There's a lot more that can be listed but I'll just stop there. Overall, if your some what new to working out, the internet and testing it are your best friends. I'm giving 3 stars more so for the gym and its employess, than for the attached Lighthouse Fitness group they contract. Gold's itself has very friendly staff, a clean environment, and amenities that fit the needs of many. Their equipment at times is rather broken or in need of cushions but it is a very populated gym so I can see this being an understandable circumstance. As for their attached "Fitness Trainers" I would say otherwise. They are unprofessional, besides one trainer who actually is honest with you about how much their program is a scam. They cycled me through four trainers due to them being fired or just lack of scheduling. Not only that when it's time to end your contract they decide to "lose" any paperwork or notifications of it and continue to charge you after the fact. If you plan on signing up for Gold's I suggest because they are a great gum, but do not let the vampires camped next to the front door trick you into thinking you need a trainer, they are there to collect your money and not complete any fitness goals you set. read more

Best gym in Clarksville for what its worth. It's extremely affordable at $20 a month. Barely costs more than planet fitness, but unlike planet fitness it has all the equipment you will ever need. It has a cardio movie theater, with a different movie playing every day. This is hands down my favorite feature. I always had to force myself to do cardio, but now I find myself jogging for 1.5 hours easily while watching a movie. Their selection of films is usually pretty good, I've only been once where I wasn't impressed with the movie. They have enough free weights, power racks, benches, and machines that will always have what you need. They have a good selection of classes and yoga too if you're into that sort of thing. This gym is perfect for amateurs and very serious weightlifters alike. The only downside to this gym, is that because it's such a top notch gym, it can be really busy at peak hours. I find myself going at off hours to avoid the crowd. It's also full of meatheads. More so than any other gym here in town. If you're the guy who's looking for less-than-legal enhancements, this is the gym you're likely to find them read more

Joined today! Really a nice and spacious gym kept very clean. I like the "movie" workout room. It has everything I want. Treadmill, elliptical machines, bicycles, stairstep, and rowing machines. The best gym I have been too in Clarksville so far. Is never really crowded not that is is 24/7 on the weekdays. Not a crowd of people staring at you either. Everyone is very friendly including the staff that works there. Have stayed till closing on a weekend before and they weren't rude or rushing me out. So I was skeptical of Gold's from the start. Prior to PCSing I had a membership at Clarksville Athletic club, and then came back to stay with my mom when my husband deployed. My friend talked me into getting a membership here. The staff is not friendly. They have minimal equipment and it is always packed. Before signing up, I had discussed with Cindy, the General Manager, that I would only be staying for nine months due to the situation and she did not mention that I would have to pay to cancel. I have gone to cancel my membership three times from being fed up with them, talked to three different staff members, and not once did they mention that I had to cancel 30 days prior to avoid paying for that 30 days. Yet today, the day before I leave to return to Colorado to welcome home my husband from deployment, I had to pay $40 to cancel it. My friend who I previously mentioned, moved back to Ohio in July and had to contact Gold's Corporate to cancel her membership, yet she has to pay through December and January for them to do so. For being in a military community, Gold's isn't very military friendly. Prior to today, I had considered joining another Gold's when returning to Colorado, however, now I will not. I also went to try and contact the Corporate Offices, and saw that their Corporate Offices had received a ONE STAR rating on the Better Business Bureau website. Got a really good deal for a 2 year membership for my wife and I. It's really not that big of a gym compared to other Golds Gyms I've been too. However, they have everything I need so I'm not complaining. All the machines are brand new and top of the line. They're still not 100% open but it doesn't really bother my workouts.
