They also buy scrap jewellery so you could trade an unworn piece in to begin saving for one of their impressive necklaces or rings. When I popped in for a browse I saw some rather cutesy-looking cartoonish flower studs and figured they would probably be the cheapest thing in the shop, upon enquiring about the price (the helpful and friendly young woman assistant had to act as translator for the elderly male proprietor), the earrings were weighed and I was informed they were £140. Now I'm sure this reflects their value gold-wise (as they were 22 carat gold) but they just didn't have the look quality and beauty that I think expensive jewellery ought to have and can't quite imagine why someone would by these over a similar pair on the high street for probably a twentieth of the price! However, there are many pretty pieces in there that do own their price tag, with elaborate necklaces and earrings that look to be of very high quality and carefully designed. If you're looking for jewellery with an Asian aesthetic or just something different from the traditional British jewelers in the city centre you may find something special at Rajput Jewelers, but you must be prepared to pay the price for the quality.

They didn't just fail on a technical level, they ruined the emotional attachment to the ring and the entire experience of getting engaged. Imagine attaching such a bad experience to something so meaningful that you'll wear for the rest of your life! ​We bought a two-tone engagement ring, but when we went to collect it after resizing, the entire head was yellow gold. They completely missed this massive quality control issue, we had to point it out to them after only noticing as we were about to leave the store. ​It only got worse from there: - ​Conflicting Stories: One person gave one story, then the manager gave another, first we were told the ring was "remade," then later claimed it was the original and the factory just forgot the white gold. This inconsistency left us wondering what we actually bought. We still don't know which story is true - ​Zero Respect for Boundaries: We specifically asked to be left alone on the day of the failed collection to salvage our engagement dinner. They ignored this and called just before 4PM anyway, further upsetting my fiancée and ruining our evening. - ​The "Delivery" Incompetence: I was told the ring would be sent via Special Delivery to arrive by 1 PM Friday by the manager. I stayed in all morning waiting. At 12:54 PM, the store called asking how I wanted it delivered, they had no idea about the plan and I was told they would never just post something of this value. Total lack of internal communication. ​- The £25 Insult: After admitting they ruined the experience, and their initial suggestion of an experience so we can go get afternoon tea at Betty's, they offered a pathetic £25 voucher. When I pointed out this didn't even cover the travel and parking for the initial failed collection, I was told this was "more than we are obliged to do." We haven't yet received this, and I fully expect them to now claim the mini prosecco and travel jewelry box (which we would never have wanted) that is in the bag as their "gesture of goodwill" ​To top it off, when they finally hand-delivered the ring, they tried to get me to sign a document confirming I was "happy with the item" to cover themselves against further complaints to the NAJ. ​Bradley's treats your engagement like a "fit for purpose" transaction, not a milestone. They think ruining a lifetime memory is worth the price of a takeaway. Absolute insult of a "luxury" jeweler. Go elsewhere.

Women's jewellery ranges from elegant and classic designs, many featuring heart shapes to more statement pieces in unusual shapes. They also sell watches, including a particularly jewel encrusted Gucci number at nearly £2000. Now surely no one can justify such a price for a watch! Now obviously some people are into this stuff, but personally I can't help wondering what must be missing in the life of someone who aspires to the decadent luxury of owning a £2000 watch (apart from the watch in question!). Men's jewellery includes some rather bizarre Porsche bracelets and cufflinks for around £200. Phillip Stoner provides repair, alteration and customisation services for old jewellery, which I think is brilliant and shows their level of skill and knowledge. The majority of these situations often lead to much arm tugging and coat pulling in the direction of pressed carbon with at least a month's salary price tag attached. One of the finer jewellery establishments this here fair city has to offer is Phillip Stoner, aptly named after the gent that created the business, Phillip Stoner professes itself to be the North's leading bespoke jeweller. At the very least the product backs up the claim, the pieces are absolutely beautiful, and as far as clarity of diamonds go, I don't think I've seen any finer in the area. There's an interesting range of services too, from repairs of existing jewellery pieces to the modification of pieces, or getting quotes for and eventual piece creation for loose stones, be they fallen out of jewellery stones, or bought stones from Philip Stoner or other dealers. The staff are smart and accommodating, and you actually don't see pound signs flash before their eyes when you mention the possibilities of your engagement ring and wedding bands being bespoke. If you've got a bit of extra wally in your wallet splashing out on good quality jewellery at Phillip Stoner is a pretty damn luxurious way to do it.
