Visited these baths in Brigerbad during low season in mid-May. It was like having the place to ourselves. But this is a huge facility that caters to the ski trip crowd in the winter months. They have an infinity lap pool with at least 6-8 lanes, wet saunas, hot baths, warm baths that are indoor/outdoor with lots of cool features, and gym and massage/beauty treatments. The prices are Swiss (expensive), but worth the value. Bring your own towels, flip-flops, toiletries as this is not a day spa that provides it. They do provide lockers and hair dryers. It seemed more like a mix of a gym (with a focus on water features) and day spa, but with a restaurant as well. Anyway, totally awesome experience and a hidden gem in Brigerbad.

Everything we did at the spa was wrong. We got there too early, we wore shoes after the changing room (a huge no-no). After a swim in the admittedly beautiful roof-top jacuzzi we changed into clothing to eat lunch (sitting in wet cold clothes in the bistro did not sound appealing).... and all hell broke loose. We were 'ABSOLUTELY' not allowed to wear clothes to lunch. When we explained we didn't want to sit in wet clothes we were met with blank stares. After lunch we promptly were told off for bringing a plastic cup of water outside of the Irish Bath area and for trying to eat a muffin near where we bought it... muffins must be eaten in a specific muffin eating area apparently. All told we were scolded a total 5 times in just a few hours. If you're looking to be told off repeatedly and to pay a handsome $350 USD for the experience, this is the place for you! If not we recommend taking a swim in your hotel bathtub.

I mean you, you can take a bus from Lauterbrunnen station to get here but you'll miss out on the beautiful scenery, the cows and the flowers. Besides, 45 minutes isn't a far hike. I wasn't planning on coming here. I was at Staubbachfalls looking at Google Maps to see what else is in the area and this popped up. So, I started heading towards Trümmelback Falls. I didn't bother checking their hours - it's a waterfall! Why would it have hours of operation?!? It's open from 9am-5pm. I made it to the ticket booth at 4:55pm and I was let in. Imagine hiking for 45 minutes for nothing? I'd be pissed! Well, it happened to a few people and there's nothing they could do about it. If there's nobody at the ticket booth and the gate is locked, sorry, Charlie! I paid $24 (18 CHF) for a ticket. So, the reason why this waterfall has hours of operation is for the funicular and guest safety. Somebody has to operate the funicular to get to the dark cave that has the waterfall. It is dark, cold, loud and you will get slightly wet. So, be sure to bring a jacket and non-skid shoes. About a 5-minute walk from here is a bus stop to bring you back to Lauterbrunnen station.

Trümmelbach Falls is a must-see if you're visiting Lauterbrunnen. The falls are actually inside the…read moremountain, and you can hear the thunderous roar long before you see the water. Walking through tunnels, stairs, and viewing platforms carved into the rock is an adventure in itself. The elevator helps with part of the climb, but there are still quite a few stairs, so wear good shoes and be prepared for some effort. I'm glad we had patience waiting for the lift and didn't use the stairs all throughout. We got a little damp from the mist, and avoiding slippery areas in the dark were part of the fun experience. We had to come back the next day to get in since the place was already closed when we first arrived. We walked all the way from Staubbach to the village to Trummelbach and didn't know we could have taken the bus to get there while it was still open. It's well worth it.
