But my girlfriend and I caught a weird vibe from the workers. It was Robert and another guy wearing an Irish golf cap unsure of his name. But I first picked out the club I was going to buy and it had an old timey leather golf grip, like something Bobby Jones would've used. I was wanting another MCC grip that matched all my other clubs to be put on the wedge. They both gave me a scuffled look like they didn't want to do that. They were persistent that this was a $50 golf grip and that I should keep it. It is not what I wanted and they were not very fond of me changing the grip. Robert eventually let me do it, but was very judgmental about it. I then wanted to see the different options available of grips and politely asked if I could walk to where the grips were. He gave me a pretty stern No. I understood, but overall was a weird interaction. Got my club and it was good work, But the workers interaction with me rubbed off the wrong way. Would Not want my girlfriend going into this golf store alone to buy me something. 2 Stars.

To paraphrase Dire Straits, "He'll do everything for you..." He's a good teacher. An expert in repair and on equipment. He remembers customer names. He goes the extra mile. Example? Two of my iron shafts snapped recently beneath their grips. Happened about two months apart. They had rusted. For the second repair, Kevin contacted the manufacturer, got the new shaft, and repaired it without charge. Now....who's going to do that for you at a chain store? Great place. They'll take good care of you and make you feel at home.

It's been four years since my last review & the 'first' review for this retailer…read more I've been playing a lot of golf the last 5 years since I retired and it takes some $ to replenish balls, tees, towels, shoes, belts etc, etc and it ain't cheap! You go here for the variety and selection of gear. If you check their website before driving in you'll find they have a good one with up to date info and prices. All the walking and I've lost about 35 pounds the last two years so I needed some new belts. They have a brand called Laze which I like. Lot's of variety, decent prices and the seem to last. I also like that you can 'join their frequent purchase' program and save some cash. They really don't put much of their clothing on sale during the season but that's to be expected. You will find they will be stocking the latest and greatest in most all the golf gear you're looking for, especially golf balls, you will pay a bit more because the won't be available at a discount on Amazon yet. I like to get there "EARLY' because it gets very crowded on the weekends. It was well staffed at check-out and I was able to get in/out real quick without a wait in line. Everyone was nice and helpful. As I suspected in my first post, the other Golf gear store in the same shopping center went out of business.

Today I scored an excellent condition youth tennis racket (for $12). The store has bikes, lacrosse, workout equipment, tons of used golf stuff, baseball, backpacks...pretty much anything used sporting related that you could need. Plus they buy back gently used/good condition sporting items as well. Best part of the store...the owner was so kind and so helpful. I will definitely be back for the next season's activities!

Tells you something about the place for sure. Definitely a great addition to the Triad area. Huge place with 2 tiers for golf, plenty of bar and indoor space, restaurant, rooftop area and games. Fun for anyone from the age you can walk, to the age you are still barely walking. The online reservation is a piece of cake, and I highly recommend it. You get a text the day of, then you get another text right before your time slot with the exact bay you're in. On a busy weekend this is great since you avoid the longer check in line and go straight to your bay. During off peak hours this probably isn't necessary, but we avoided a 10+ deep line to check in when we were there. Service was a bit lacking. We had to hunt down our server (or a server when ours was nowhere to be found), to order anything or get refills. The bay next to us was dealing with the same thing. When we did get our orders, it was great and the kids enjoyed the drinks and apps. With a little better server experience, this place would be 5 stars for sure. Regardless, it's an excellent outing to enjoy with friends, family, or a solo practice session for yourself.

A couple years later, and the truth of the matter is, I go to Topgolf a lot, but I am judicious…read moreabout when. When I go on my own, I actually am looking for practice, which would be a financially a stupid decision during peak hours. So since I work from home and my hours are flexible, I take advantage of their cheaper morning and early afternoon rates, especially on Tuesdays when all play is half off. Lately, I have been going a lot with a friend who bought their summer fun pass, and that has been an excellent decision for us both. If you're a Costco member, it's worth it to swing into the Costco down the road and get a gift card that effectively makes the whole experience 25% off. I don't usually eat or drink much when I go. On my own, I usually tell my server if they'll just bring me a water it's safe to ignore me until my time is up. Sometimes I want a tea. However, when I go in a group more often than not the service is exceptionally lacking. Training is also lacking. At one point, they tried to charge a friend of mine for every refill of ginger ale, saying it was a drink from the bar... lol. The manager took care of it, but wow, I mean... it's a soda. Just your life experience should tell you, it's a free refill in the south. There is one older manager who really always seems to be busting his butt to make sure everyone gets taken care of, but he can only do so much. It's not to say that from time to time, we get a really great server that is on top of things, but I would say more than half the time, there are issues. No issue at all with the actual golf experience. Topgolf may be set up for fun, and it is, but you also can get some decent practice in. Toptracer gives you useful information about your shots, distance, ball speed, and flight path. You can hit a lot of balls if your group doesnt spend too much time playing with the screen or watching every shot to the finish. I'll continue to visit this Topgolf, but there are definitely ways it could improve, hence the 4.
