Play It Again Sports in Brampton is one franchise of 100+ throughout North America. Nevertheless,…read morethe store has a very local feel to it, with very personalized and friendly service. As the name suggests, it's a sports consignment store, though they do sell some new products as well. For me, it makes a great deal of sense to purchase some sports equipment used since that new item you bought for more than twice the price will look the same after a couple uses. I've been here a few times in the past couple years and have always found what I'm looking for. We purchased my son's first real bike here. It was in terrific shape with virtually no signs of use and came at a great deal. I've popped in other times too, such as buying used softballs - which for me makes perfect sense to save money on rather than buying new ones. Outdoor skating season is now starting up again, which brought me in yesterday for skates. We plan on going several times this season, so it didn't make sense to keep renting each time we go. We can in yesterday to look at their skates, and they have a MASSIVE inventory of both new and used. The price of the men's skates ranged from $40-70, with even the $40 ones being your typical Bauer skate. I got ones for $60, which had very little use and were made of composite material, making it a bit lighter. I also found skates for both my kids, which each pair coming in around $30. They offer skate sharpening for $5, but did ours for free since we purchased three pairs. They had plenty of sales staff present, so anyone could get the help they needed, whenever they needed it. The manager is also supper friendly and very funny. Next time you're looking for some sports equipment, I'd recommend looking here first. You might be surprised at the amount of selection and the money you'll save.

BraeBen Golf Course - Driving range

This is for the driving range. Over the summer, I got into golf and this was my go to place for the…read moredriving range. The driving range is a bit of a walk from the office where you need to purchase your balls, but the views are great! It'll remind you of the Microsoft desktop picture. There's plenty of bays to use with built in tees. Price is cost friendly compared to others as its city operated.

I first played at Braeben when it was still called Britannia Hills. Back then, you could still…read moresmell the garbage and the adjacent land was still a landfill. There were not very many houses around the course either. Since that time I played the Academy 9-hole course a number of times. I liked the Academy because it was very challenging for a short course. If you miss the fairway, there was a very high chance that you would lose your ball in the rough and/or fescue. The fescue is baaaaad. Don't even bother trying to hit out of it. I finally decided to try out the 18-hole course after years of procrastinating. I played on a Sunday afternoon at 3:01 pm (twilight starts at 3 pm, and super twilight at 5:30 pm). For $65 you get a cart for your 18 holes. I highly recommend getting a cart. There are a lot of hills and you won't enjoy your round if you had to carry your bag. Both the 9- and 18-hole courses are very well maintained. There are some tough spots (we played after it rained) and the bunkers can be brutal. We took free drops instead of playing out of the bunkers, especially after rain. Also a couple of the holes had very strange layouts. There were two greens that were absolutely hidden and nearly impossible to aim for unless you had played it before. Thankfully all the carts are fitted with GPS devices so you know how far you are from the green. The staff and marshalls were all very polite and kind. We had a slow group but the marshall tried her best to keep everyone moving. Their service really stood out to me. I would definitely play Braeben again. For $65 and the convenience of the course's location, I think it's a great value. You might have a tough time if you're a beginner because of the fescue and tight fairways, but there are some easy par 3s and straight 4s to keep you going.

In reality: NEGATIVE stars…read more EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE at this Heartland Location. There was barely anyone (staff and customers) at 10:30am on this weekday morning. There was no greeting of the staff at the front door when I arrived as she just LOOKED at me. Since I wasn't familiar with the layout of this location, I had to go to the cashier/checkout section to ask for help. A lady staff just pointed at a general section and said "it is in that section". I was so confused with her VAGUE direction and had to ask her twice about it. Since she was available and was not serving a customer, she could have just PHYSICALLY walked me to the section that I wanted to browse at. After looking at some swimsuits, I needed to try them on. Like most stores, the fitting room doors were locked. So I went to the checkout desk again for help and the SAME lady staff who "directed" me earlier said "Okay", but she proceeded to serve another customer in line. I just stood there. Awhile later, another staff (associate manager?) left the cashier and walked towards the fitting rooms. APPARENTLY, the lady staff told him to open the fitting room door for me and I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW. The male staff just saw me standing there and walked passed me. If the male staff saw me standing there waiting, he should have at least said, "Miss, Please come this way" or "I'll open the door for you". EXTREMELY poor customer service. During checkout, I had to ask the 3 staff at the checkout for their names as they didn't have name tags on and it was then that they asked me if something was wrong. I just told them my DISSATISFACTION of this store. This wasn't my first time at this location. I definitely wouldn't come here if the item that I was looking for was at another location. The staff here doesn't want to work. Period. Stop wasting your employer's money. I have also sent a written complaint to the head retail customer service about this. BETTER TRAINING of CUSTOMER SERVICE is DEFINITELY NEEDED HERE.
