Honestly, it's been a few days and I'm still actually upset about the situation that I experienced…read morethere. A couple days ago I went in for what was my second time visiting this location. The first time around was actually a very positive experience and I look forward to returning, considering the fact that I live five minutes away . But two days ago I came in and the older Asian man or owner of the business was who was there. There was no hello or any type of greeting At least not at his part. All I was being asked was if I had been there before to which I replied yes . To my answer, all I received was a blank stare.. I tried to disregard it, and instead asked him after informing him that I was left-handed that I would be needing a left-handed set up . He still looked at me up and down like I was crazy, but I tried to be patient due to the fact that there was a bit of a language barrier . When I told him I needed one hour, I tried to peek at the clipboard with the pricing to which when he saw me do so he put his hand over the clipboard and covered it . Again, he had asked me and repeated if I had been here before . At this point, I was a little frustrated because I've already answered that question. And so I repeated a resounding yes . So he hesitates and then he tells me I will have to wait . Absolutely no problem with that . and after sitting for almost 25 minutes, he finally takes me over to a tea box that wasn't even being used. Oh wait, there's more . Thewas very little help in trying to set up . And from the looks of it, it looked like this gentleman didn't even know how the equipment works So after 20 minutes of trying to get the simulator to start working on my own . It was that I was able to finally get some practice. And if all of that wasn't enough at the end of my time, I was just gathering up all the balls for the next person .(just exercising a. Bit of golf etiquette.) this man came to snatch the shovel away from me. Now I understand we are living in some trying times . But given that this gentleman also has a language barrier as to imply that he's probably also an immigrant, the way I was made to feel like I wasn't welcomed and then made to wait the way I did seemed a little bit of unfair and unnecessary to me. It's safe to say that you guys have lost my business . And that I won't be returning. I know I might look like a Mexican from the ones you've been seeing on TV acting stupid. But let me assure you, we are not all the same . No hard feelings, but I'll never be back there again . After playing for 1.5 years I'd decided it was finally time to take the next step and do some…read morelessons. After getting to an 18 handicap I'd regressed a bit and stalled around a 20. I was inconsistent with a terribly inefficient swing that was honestly harder on my body than it needed to be. I have one lesson left out of a 15 lesson pack and I've dropped to a 13.8 handicap now and have shot a handful of rounds of 84 recently (and can feel that elusive 79 just out of reach). My mechanics have improved tremendously which also makes my back and body feel so much better after a round and it cannot be overstated how valuable that is. I play 36 regularly with no real issues now! I started with Ian who was perfect for what I needed at the time but when he moved on the customer service here was incredible to get me set up with a new instructor in Ty Klippenstein. Ty has pushed me to the next level, I love the way he explains things, he can explain the science behind the swing and ball flight and also bring it back to basics for you. It works for me at least. If you're going to actually utilize the practice sessions on top of the lessons GOLFTEC really is a great value and if you're in the Valley I can't recommend Ty enough.

JJ has already helped my game after just two hours working together immensely. We were told they were going to have a pickleball league and that the pickleball was super active. We were told about a fun scramble style game they played on Tuesdays and that folks were super welcoming. We were told the pool was a place we could hang out with our kid over the summer. Great bait and switch. None of these things happened. It does look like they're starting up their pickleball league this year. We joined at the end of Nov. 2024, only to be met with a pretty significant dues increase in January 2025. No mention of This at our sign up. We went once a week for pickleball and dinner. The childcare during those things was amazing (Fridays only). The ladies there were so sweet. The food at the restaurant was pretty good. The only issue there was the increase in prices. It went up pretty significantly in the one year we were there. The live music on Friday was wonderful, especially when Justin was there. The pickleball was dead. The Tuesday thing was a joke. They were not welcoming and def didn't do the scramble thing that was advertised. I went to the gym 3-4 times a week. It's small and super outdated. For the monthly fee, I expected much better quality equipment. The treadmills were rough and the teen swim team was always taking over. The classes were good though, especially JDs. The pool is for their swim team. That's it. I know that's not true formally, but that's the truth in practice. The family centered events were great (all extra charges). All of this would get them about a 3 star rating. The one star comes from their predatory billing practices. While we were members, there were numerous errors. I diligently check my statement every month. I found errors more months than I did not. I would guess that this is happening to more members than us. If you are a current member, do not trust them. Please review your statement every month. I'm talking hundreds of dollars in errors. In September, we put in our notice to leave at the end of November. Took literally weeks and multiple emails to finally get a response. They offered us the Halloween event for free as a thank you and goodbye. Surprise surprise, they charged us for it. Took multiple emails to get it removed. They have since tried to charge us for a renewal fee, dues for December, and I just received an invoice for January. I truly don't know how it can be THIS bad. I'm guessing a lot of their clientele just don't notice.

The first time I entered Crunch, Stephen/Steven at the front desk smiled and greeted me; he made me feel welcome. Bishoy, a former manager was also awesome! He asked whether I cared about the age or gender of the personal trainer. I didn't. Given my existing condition, he strongly recommended Ryan Ainsworth. Ryan is exemplary! He has the eye of a physical therapist and is arguably as good as one - if not better! He is kind and nurturing. Whenever I'd whine about the difficulty of an exercise, he'd always encourage me while ensuring that I'd perform that exercise with fidelity. Ryan possesses the sublime ability to immediately adjust specific exercises to meet my personal needs. Ryan's nuanced adjustments are sublime! Current and former managers Bishoy, Johnny (at the Norwalk location), Armando, CJ, and Charlie always exhibited genuine kindness combined with outstanding customer service during times I had to postpone training for extended period of time due to illness, cataract surgeries, and fractured toes as a result of being clumsy at home. Ryan Ainsworth has given me the grace to accept myself, be resilient, and prevail with this "new normal" for which I am eternally grateful!!!

Unfortunately, management is a completely different story. They are opportunistic and very inconsiderate. Despite me sending emails and calling ahead of time to confirm that I would not be charged after the three-month agreement, they still charged my card anyway. I don't like to argue, so I took matters into my own hands and showed my bank the emails and explained that I had called to get reassurance beforehand; yet I was still charged. That alone says a lot about their lack of integrity and morality. What made this even more frustrating is that after the bank reimbursed me, management suddenly called me again to "cancel" the training and I forwarded the same email I had already sent months ago stating I wanted to cancel after three months. This felt extremely tedious and reactive, especially since I had already been clear and proactive from the beginning. Please read the Yelp reviews before signing up. Ben is amazing and truly cares about his clients, but management(especially Armando) makes the overall experience unnecessarily frustrating and disappointing.
