Very busy and popular local vet. Two vets on at 10am sunday which ensured a reduced wait time. This vet hospital only accepts cash or cheque and keeps things old school but not having anything digitally recorded. read more

Here at Bankstown Vet Hospital you get that and walk away feeling much better than you did walking in. Here the premises is clean, modern and inviting with lots of literature at hand. I could go on & on about how great the Vets and staff are but will keep it brief by saying that it's well worth the journey here for that extra peace of mind.

The other Doctor's who work there are very good and think of the dog well being and not their bank account.

This place is not longer Benny and the pets…read more Strongly advise avoiding Kogarah Vet (formerly Benny & the Pets). My dog had a dental surgery there and the whole experience was honestly shocking. I'd clearly asked for his two bad back molars to be removed -- those were the main reason for the surgery. Instead, those teeth were left untouched and still covered in thick, dark tartar, while a different, healthy tooth was taken out by mistake. When I questioned this, the vet said the tooth "looked loose" and even claimed that "severe tartar can grow back in three days"... which makes no sense at all. I'd also specifically asked for a call before any extractions, and even took the day off work to stay available. No one called. The surgery just went ahead without a word. Later that night, I found one of his back teeth chipped -- something they also never mentioned. After weeks of chasing for answers and showing them clear photo evidence, they eventually issued a full refund -- which honestly says everything. Very disappointed and unprofessional service

When I asked for her front nails to be trimmed and for her to be wormed, the vet asked if he could take her to the back room with his assistant, which I allowed, I then heard her growling and struggling for what seemed like far too long and the sounds coming from there did not sit well with me. When they brought her back to me she was frothing at the mouth, with the fur around her neck falling off in clumps and extremely distraught. Once I was home, I noticed they had used blunt clippers on her and the cuts were really close to the quick, she also struggled to close her mouth and spent the rest of the day under my bed. I would recommend you be present with your pet during their check-ups at all times.

It makes me sick the way some people treat animals. Particularly those that make a living from them. As a horse owner they should be banned from ever owing them again in my opinion.
The RSPCA is a non-profit organisation which relies on funding from the Australian public in order…read moreto rescue and re-home animals which have been abandoned, neglected or abused. Minimal government funding is provided which is unfortunate as the organisation does so much for domestic and wild animals in Australia. They petition for animal rights and are actively involved in campaigns within Australia and abroad. The RSPCA's Sydney rescue centre is located at Yagoona. While it may be considered a trek for some, it is well worth the visit if you are looking for a dog, cat, rabbit, or even a horse! As an animal activist myself, I have adopted three animals from the RSPCA over the last 21 years and absolutely adore them! They all have had a funny character, personable and friendly nature and a love of family. Last year I adopted a cat from the RSPCA. I had been looking at their adoption site online and could search all the cats and kittens which were available for adoption in the Sydney region. I found a beautiful cat, but it was located in the Snowy Mountains. Despite this small setback, the RSPCA relocated her to their Sydney centre free of charge and I was able to adopt her within a few weeks! Adoption fees cost around $200 and include everything from vaccinations to the cost of purchasing the animal. The staff at Yagoona are all very friendly and have the best interests of the animals in mind. Ensuring a suitable match between owner and pet is a priority for them. There is even an RSPCA hospital located on site which is convenient for those who live close by. All the pets at the RSPCA are extra cute; we almost came back with a dog in an addition to a cat. Please keep in mind, if you are not in for the long haul, do not consider buying a pet.
