I initially went in for a second opinion because my former dentist told me a root canal needed to be redone. However, this dentist told me it wasn't necessary, so I stayed with him. Shortly after, he even cleared me to get braces. Four years ago, another dentist at the same office saw me and confirmed that the same root canal did need to be done. Because he was my primary dentist, I had to wait to see him for the final word. When I finally did, he said I was fine. I saw him again this past January, and he told me everything looked good. However, the hygienist I saw in March pointed out that the tooth needed to be fixed, noting it had already been flagged by the other doctor four years prior.They finally scheduled an appointment for him to do the root canal, but when I arrived, he told me I now need an implant. For years he told me I was fine, and then suddenly I need an implant. He completely failed to keep me informed about what was actually happening with my teeth. I am incredibly disappointed in him, and I feel deeply saddened by how this was handled. I trusted him completely, and it hurts to know that my tooth could have been saved if he had just listened to his colleagues and properly monitored my care. The office manager told me that writing a bad review wouldn't make me feel any better. However, I am writing this so that others don't have to go through the same painful experience.

This dentist got me in immediately which was great, the receptionist and nurses were fantastic. There was a couple of things that happened though that weren't fantastic. This place said they took Medi-cal. My partner and I are both broke low income college students and we were looking for a dentist that would specifically take medi- cal. This place claimed they did but after the very LONG consultation (about an hour and half of waiting in the lobby with no other patients waiting with me) they told my partner he needed around 20,000 dollars of dental care and medi-cal wasn't going to cover it. Excuse me? We have full cover medi-cal, all of it was just bullshit. We also went to a different dentist (CaliDental in Marina) yesterday and guess what NOT 20,000 DOLLARS WORTH OF WORK... and ding ding ding they take our medi cal. The other thing that through me off is they have a dog that is walking around the whole office. No not just the lobby, in the dental rooms where patients are being treated as well. INCREDIBLY UNSANITARY. Listen I love dogs, don't take them to a medical office, and no, this dog didn't have a service dog vest. Lastly, the lead dentist is awful. His own nurses were pissed at how long he was taking to just SEE my partner. Saying stuff to him like "his partner has been waiting in the lobby for almost an hour and a half, get on it." All in all this place is unsanitary, scammy and the dentist looks like he needs to retire. The only good thing I can say is the receptionist and nurses are kind, their booking is fast and easy, and they were at least able to put a temporary root canal cap on the tooth that needed work. We came out of pocket for that without even attempting to see if medi cal would cover it. Look. I know medi cal isn't accepted everywhere, I also know medi cal doesn't pay doctors or practices a very fair price; but don't say you take medi cal and just decide you don't because you don't wanna do the work. We have full coverage, just be honest.

It's hard to find honest and hard-working Dentist and we're so lucky to have him! He is also funny and down to earth. Staff was very friendly, professional, and keep a very clean office. Dr. Mireles has been around for years, I used to remember when he had the office in Greenfield. When I moved from the OC I had gone to another Dentist very well known in Salinas and they had told me that I needed three things done urgently Dr Mireles took an in-depth look and said one does need to be addressed, but the other two we can monitor! Super honest in this day and age very hard to find!
