I always get my haircut with Jose. I'm sure the other guys cut hair well as well but I've been getting my hair cut with Jose since before he joined the shop and he always hooks it up. Making appointments is easy. Parking isn't too bad either as if you can't find street parking, you can park in the lot across the street. read more

I've been here a handful of times and this was my favorite spot until today. I came in without an appointment and I waited about 5 minutes and they got me in. The two barbers were deep in conversation but the barber barely said hello to me and started buzzing my hair after showing him the picture cut I liked. I don't care if people talk and work but these guys were carrying on and my barber kept stopping and talking. This went on for 5 or so minutes and I finally had enough and said "hey guys what's going on?" They immediately said sorry "it's just barber talk" and the barber finished my hair quickly. I went to pay and they said it's on the house which I thought was cool but then he told me don't ever interrupt when they are talking again. Sad part is about 7 of my my friends go there so now we have to find somewhere else. I hope they figure out customer service because I used to love that shop. read more

This a great little Barber shop up in Sunset Harbour. It is one of the last original small businesses that have not been moved out by big corporate changeover and the real estate market. I've been to a bunch of barbershops around Miami Beach and this is a true old school barbershop. There's no glitz, glamour, and free drinks etc., it's an in and out Latino barbershop where I can get a cut and shave for 20 bucks plus tip. Reminds me of the barbershops I used to go to when I was little. There is parking in one of the new ramps across the street for a dollar an hour, parking on the street will cost 2 to 3 times as much. If there is a wait, there are plenty of bars shops and restaurants to stop in while they hold your place in line. There is also a Publix on the corner where you can run in to get some things while you wait or right after your cut. A Great little unpretentious barbershop in Sunset Harbor, something that's hard to find in Miami Beach!! read more

As soon as I got seated in this place, I new I was in good hands. The barber, Hector, was not only super cool and polite but was really helpful in helping me explain what I wanted. He gave me options and references and was really patient, checking with me at every step. The end result? One of the best hair cuts I've ever had. All under $20 and within the half hour. That being said, when I look for a barber shop I feel out the environment which ofcourse is comprised of the clientele, the barbers, decor, etc. I had visited another barber shop near 8th st. and it wasn't quite my vibe. This place on the other hand was perfect. What makes it so perfect? It's simplicity. It's a plain Jane barber shop with barbers carrying years of experience under their belt. It's friendly, inviting, inexpensive and quick. It's an older crowd. Best of all, it's not rowdy so you needn't worry about profanities being thrown around or people yelling at each other. I'm sold after my first experience. I've found my new barber shop :-) PS. What's very cool is the cafe right next door. Coming from out of town its always stressful to find a place to get your hair cut, I was in miami beach for three weeks so I needed a few cuts in a time that long. After a bad experience at Sloane Square I decided to give Gonzalez barber shop a try. I'm really glad I did. I got a great cut from Hector (I think) and didn't have to wait. He took lots of time cutting my hair and did exactly what I asked for. Probably the best $15 haircut I've ever had. It's a very simple shop, and don't offer alot of services, but thats ok since they do one thing and one thing very well; cut hair. Two thumbs up!! Being new to Miami, I'm at a complete loss as to why it's so difficult to get your haircut at a barber. Walk in, sat down. Nobody acknowledges you. Wait. People come in and just and get hair cut. Wait. After 45 minutes barber says only appointments. One barber apparently takes walk-ins but he rarely shows up and has yet to come in at 11am. I give up and leave. read more
