MUST GO if you're ever Miami Beach and in need of a fresh cut. In Miami for a two-week cruise but didn't get a chance to get a haircut back in Los Angeles, so looked up places to get one. Based on the reviews, I settled on going there; plus they're open earlier than others so that was great. Sent a chat message via Google Maps for an appointment when they open and less than 5 minutes received a message back saying I have an appointment! Got there and the person whom I messaged remembered the conversation. I immediately got seated with young lad, Manuel. Manuel! What can I say about this guy? No words could merely describe how professional and talented this guy is. He is super nice and very welcoming. Definitely made me feel at ease especially when you're with unfamiliar hands you gotta trust who's doing your hair. When he learned that I speak fluent Spanish, I felt his warmth and welcome even more. He's very social. The attention to details was crazy! He's very meticulous and he tells you why he cuts your hair a certain way--in a very good way like he did it because it looks better that way. Told him I trust his judgment and voila! He did an amazing job! Perfect, in fact, that I felt like it was one of the best haircuts I've ever had. Not just saying because he came in clutch but he definitely didn't disappoint! I appreciated that I was offered a "senior discount" but I was pretty much ignored while Andres cut my hair. Never once turned me towards the mirror while cutting, and after, I saw that nothing I had requested had been done. I still tipped $5. OK, so I figure I'll go back a second time and maybe I'll be more specific about what I want. Same treatment and really, the exact opposite of what I requested. My hair was slicked back with a part when I said I wanted a looser unparted look on top. I may be a senior but I still have nice hair! I'm a local and I found a new place. I'm now paying twice what I was charged here, but it's worth it because they listen to me, treat me with respect and don't rush me out of the chair after 15 minutes. I have been living off and on in South Beach for 10 years. Lazaro is, by far, the best barber on South Beach. He gives the best fades (clean & tight) on the beach. Grab a "cortadito con azucar" at The Olas Cafe next door. Great haircuts for $25.00, beard trims are $10, so $35 for the whole treatment. Don't forget the $5 tip. The place is "pure" old-school Cuba, no "extra" special ambience -- just a pair of clippers, a sharp blade, a clean cape and some good "spanglish" conversation. Just arrived to Miami couple hours ago and needed a fresh cut for my trip. I'm staying on South beach and there are some options to go to but I choose this one after reading reviews. The comment that stood out was that one of the barbers is Cuban and I've had a Cuban barber in Las Vegas (which I would also recommend) which did a great job. I got a haircut from Lazaro, my man hooked me up with a fresh fade. I'm always hesitant to try to new barbers let alone a barber in a different city.
