Expectations were possibly too high.... But I was super disappointed by the dry Lamingtons (which I have fond memories of from Australia). But otherwise was good. Mains were interesting, sustainable, well presented and healthy. Plus beamish cake was good. The bruschetta with caramelized apples was good. The fish tacos were the biggest disappointment (second even to the lamingtons). The tortillas themselves were stale and had a high mayo base. The fish was excellently battered and gorgeous. Would recommend removing the "taco" title and turning it into a fish and chips / salad w/ slaw. Because something further from a Mexican taco hard to find. But based on the Irish rave reviews...perhaps it's okay for the audience. Anyway, lovely cafe and will be back for the gardens. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Also, the paprika fries are the absolute winner overall. The lemon roulade looked gorgeous....but didn't try it. So did the pancakes w/ poached pears. Lots of options

Had the most amazing brunch there today! The location is beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious! The menu is rather short but everything sounded great, so it was actually hard to decide. I tried the 'hibiscus poached pear pancakes' and they were to die for! My friend had the vegan trio and a vegan cake afterwards and was more than happy about it as well. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. All in all, I highly recommend this beautiful café!

I've heard so many things about this place and it really didn't disappoint. From the gorgeous location, to the beautiful seating (inside and outside). The food is so thoughtfully presented and the staff are lovey, too. The menu constantly changes so you just really can't go there enough!

Healthy organic vegetarian/vegan food in Cork Hidden gem!…read more Food **** Absolutely delicious. We got the special which was a Malaysian vegetable curry with spicy apple chutney. We also ordered the Nut loaf which was an absolute must - one of the best dishes we've had in a while - comes with roasted potatoes and roasted root vegetables. SO GOOD! Atmosphere **** Very cute restaurant located on the second floor of a health food store but has an upscale feel. Parking can be tricky but we got a spot on the street near the restaurant and then you can purchase a parking pass for 2 euro at the food shop on the first floor. Service **** Great service and relaxed. Also bathrooms available. Price $$ Dishes were around 15 euro each.

I couldn't help but to notice the portion differences for the sides. Ours was much less..but anyways, I loved the burger. The coolest thing about veggie burgers is that it is always different. No veggie burger will ever taste the same unless it's not homemade. The choice of toppings and bun was grand too. It seemed like a multi-grain bun. The patty was so rich in flavor. I was not impressed with the Shepherd's pie. It was just a mush of grains. I was expecting something similar to a veggie pot pie. It was good but it was a dish I usually make at home minus the top. The sides were quite natural - quick toss to cook them with minimal seasoning. If you are feeling healthy and not up for extreme flavor, this is a safe choice. Portions are filling and staff are friendly. The restrooms are located upstairs.

I knew better being American and loving actual tacos but I ordered them anyway. They were not bad but clearly not what I'd get back home in the states. All of the food was decent but not mind blowing. Others at my table had a burger, pizza and pasta. The staff was wonderful and the beer selection was great. They had beers I've never heard of so it was nice to try some different options. The atmosphere was pretty cool. They had bar stools on bicycle wheels with pedals and the lights were corsets. The water came in a bottle that said, "unfiltered unicorn tears." So overall it was a very cool place. I definitely recommend it if you want a drink and maybe a bite to eat if you aren't terribly picky about your food.

Ugh. Update your website!…read more I found Brick Lane on Yelp and when I looked up the menu on their website saw they had an unlimited wings deal on Wednesday and pub quiz at 8:30. Awesome! When we showed up and asked for the wing deal they said it's no longer offered. The 8:30 pub quiz didn't actually start until 9:52. Other than that it was a fun time. We got a few pints of Guinness and a pizza and had fun playing the quiz. The bartenders were friendly and prompt. Just get your website right so there aren't unmet expectations.

Cork is a place you DEFINITELY need reservations for dinner - it's very busy, and popular restaurants like Orso do fill up very quickly. It was bustling even at 6:30PM, and was great to see a busy and thriving restaurant. The food and service was phenomenal, so good that we chose to dine at their sister restaurants across the rest of our visit to Cork. Highly recommended.

Though she was literally the only server for the entire restaurant this evening, she never made us feel rushed and was always patient with every group that came. This is a relatively small space with only about 6 tables inside. There was a large group sitting outside, they probably put together 2 or 3 tables. It's a relaxed place with some beautifully framed artwork on the wall. The menu provides a wonderful selection of Middle Eastern food. We didn't choose any drinks other than the water that was offered. My wife and I shared the Grilled Halloumi salad to start. The salad was delicious and the halloumi was superb. For the entree we both chose the fish of the day, a grilled sea bream with some sort of slaw. The fish was fantastic, prepared perfectly. It had wonderful flavors in addition to the excellent taste and texture of the fish. We ordered a side of sweet pea hummus with pita, which was absolutely delicious. We succumbed to ordering dessert because they too sounded so good. What made them totally special was that birth the Pear Tartin and Mahalabia were flavorful, not too sweet, and we didn't feel stuffed after enjoying them to complete our meal. The fresh mint tea that accompanied dessert was delicious.
