We stood out for the longest Of Time in the cold weather, waiting to receive our property back and the person I brought with me to retrieve my car was not allowed in the office for some reason. Also, there was damage to my car when the tow truck dropped my car for me to come get it. I have seen almost nothing but negative reviews so I would just like to share my experience. They answered ALL of my questions professionally and alleviated any concerns I had. All property, down to the last gum wrapper was returned to me, including $400 in cash and my old (UNLOCKED) iPhone 15 pro. Questions of mine they happily answered: Q: Why was my property removed? A: It is in their contract with not just my finance company (GM financial) but ALL finance companies, that the debtor's property (mine) is separated from the bank's property (the car) within Day1 of recovery in order to prepare the vehicle for auction. Until an appointment is scheduled for the vehicle, they have no insight into whether or not you plan to get your vehicle, property, both, or nothing at all. Q: Why did I have to make an appointment even though I paid the bank in full the day my car was picked up? A: They do not work directly for the bank. They are hired by a third party company (MvRecovery in my case) who gives them the order to repossess the vehicle. Once you pay your finance company, they then have to send a vehicle release to MvRecovery, who then turns around and sends it to Recovery America. MvRecovery particularly is based out of California, so by the time I paid the bank and the paperwork made it to Recovery America, it was the next business day. Furthermore, this is the biggest repo yard I have ever seen. They pick up about 30-40 new vehicles per day and ALL of those people want to schedule appointments to get their stuff back as well. Once they lined these things out for me, I really just had to take a step back and remember that even though they didn't tell me everything I wanted to hear, I'm in this position because of my own actions, not theirs. I certainly don't intend on getting repossessed again, but if I do I hope the next company handles the situation with the level of professionalism and integrity that the people here held wiru They will not talk to "the bank" on the phone because it could really be "anybody" on the other end of the line saying "yep, just go ahead and release the car to so and so", when in reality it could just be someone you know. Sadly, it makes perfect sense.
