I said right from the start, the starter wire (common on Volvo trucks) or battery cables loose. I told him I will put him on our perferred list, if he was fair, but obviously he didn't care. I asked several times for the part number and he played stupid. I had both the Delco Remy and OEM numbers to confirm what he was attempting to put on and we ended up putting the old one on again and it was the starter wire like I said. This guy turned and said $850. And I said no! We fought and he put it down to $650. but we should not have paid more than the agreed service call of $350. as he was just trying to pull a fast one. We had an important load to deliver and he screwed us up on that too. I would check his credentials as a mechanic, because they shouldn't be crooked. I have been in the trucking business for decades, have come across shady characters before but this guy tops all, my driver even said that he was just screwing us and wasting our time.
