If you find out your dentist is using this Lab PLEASE read my story first…read more I had my rt front tooth broken of in an accident, after waiting a year once the root was extracted to allow the bone to heal, I went to a dentist who said he thought a Maryland bridge would work for me and it would be less expensive than a full bridge, so Astro Dental Art made a Maryland Bridge for me. Four days later It fell off. From the time it was put on it did not feel right, it had a big bulb at the back and did not feel like it covered my tooth, as it should have. Then covid happened and i waited until the dentists were working again, a second dentist told me I was not a candidate for the Maryland bridge because of my bite, something both the 1st dentist and Astro dental "Artist" should have know. I agtreed to a full bridge at an additional cost of $2900. when it was applied I immediately noticed it was way too white, too big both in depth and length, also had a big bulb feeling at the back near the roof of my mouth and was flat across the back of the 3 teeth, very odd feeling, I had trouble keeping my lips closed over there hugh brilliant white rabbit teeth. so now for the third time, I went back and the Lab guy met me at the dentists office, to see in person what I felt was wrong, I thought great I could show him and explain exactly what I felt was wrong, he listened, took pictures, color match me and said he could fix all my issues, so back i go for the third bridge. this time the color was good, but it was still flat across the back but the 2 front teeth are different sizes, the right one feels pretty good but the left one is still too big and has that big bulge at the back. I am totally frustrated, and will not go back. this all started in Calgary , however since the 1st bridge was put on we moved 5 hours away so made 5 trips to Calgary over the next couple of months, twice we got a hotel room as we thought 11-12 hours days would be too exhausting, but could not do that the last 3 times - too expensive BEWARE!!

On my first trip to CBC Foot Products it was solely for the purposes of potentially buying some new…read moreorthotics, seeing what they had and if it would work. My initial orthotics were purchased many years prior from Dr. Joseph, a licensed Podiatrist . I had worn his orthotics for many years to places like Everest, the summit of Kilimanjaro, Patagonia, etc. and never a problem. They were properly fitted which is essential providing excellent support and aligned with my foot perfectly. However, they were old and and Dr. Joseph had retired. Upon my first visit to CBC Foot Products I was told by Richard a salesperson and later by the owner Lance Colins that fitting would not be problem as they guaranteed the product and workmanship. I should have had a tape recorder. I ended up purchasing two pairs of orthotics for a cost of $800.00 and a Lift Chair for another $800.00 for a grand total of $1600.00. My next visit was to pick up my brand new custom fitted Orthotics and I was looking forward to it but that was short lived. Yes, they looked pretty, nice and shiny but once inserted into my shoe it was visibly obvious my foot was not going to fit into my shoe with the orthotics there. Lance immediately piped up and remarked " your shoe is too small " . That was a First ! I have never ever heard that before and I have worn size 8D shoes for 30+ years and probably have 40 pairs of shoes including dress, runners, casual, work, sandals, etc. and they are all size 8. All of a sudden this "professional " is suggesting my shoes are too small or in contrast that my foot had grown. One cannot buy moments like this ! Lance had no reasonable explanation and I was getting frustrated by his lack of suggestions or attempts at explanation ( and I paid $800.00 for this ) Needless to say, I walked out of there in discomfort with the laces loosely tied on my Merrell all weather shoes with his words ringing in my ear, "wear them for a while and see how they fit ". I did wear them for several extremely uncomfortable weeks and was back within the month where good ole Lance, the professional who after a brief discussion took the orthotics promptly into the warehouse and I could hear immediately the sound of a sander or grinder being used for fine tuning / technical adjustments. Upon his return Lance advised me that this should be better as he had shaved off some of the base of the orthotic to make it slightly less bulky. It wasn't even close ! By this time I knew I was in trouble but I had paid $800.00 for these " professionally designed " orthotics and I was going to wear them even if it killed me and they almost did. I wore them for several months and they never once felt comfortable in any of my shoes and I tried a lot of different shoes . Further, it got to the point that my toes started changing color due to the cramped condition of my feet and I felt that losing both nails on my large toes was inevitable. I should add during this period I has been in to see both Lance and Richard and neither one of them had a solution to my problem. You would think with all their so called expertise, professional education, trained Plethorist ? experience, etc. they would be able to assess the problem and come up with a solution. Did Not Happen ! On July 28th, 2020 at approximately 3:30 on a sunny afternoon I decided to visit my good ole buddy Lance and his partner/successor/protégé Richard and ask for my money back. The orthotics had never fit since Day 1 and in spite of my many visits and even purchasing size 8-1/2 shoes , they were never comfortable and AWAYS caused me pain. I should add the pain was not localized to my foot either. Everything is connected as you know so in time the pain in my foot began to migrate up my leg to my ankle, shin, calf, thigh, etc. yes, and it only cost $800.00. Wow, what a deal !!! So Lance was in ( did not see Richard ) and he seemed to recognize me and I politely and slowly went through the chronology from date of purchase touching upon my many visits to his shop and concluding with, " Lance , I have tried over many, many months of pain but these orthotics do not fit and have never fit . I would like to have my money back ". Lance, the one that runs the deal, the so called expert, the Plethorist ??, the salesman who is so sensitive to the needs of the customer, the " professional " promptly said , " that's never going to happen". I was expecting more than a 5 word bark. A few hours later, the pain hadn't lessened and found her unable to sit up. Poor roomie! "Should we get you one of those donut cushions?" I joked. "Yes! I think I'm going to need one," she replied in a much more serious tone. How do I even know about donut cushions? My mom had one when I was a kid. I even used that thing as a sit upon for camp. While we contemplated where we could find one for her, I remembered this medical supply store down in Bridgeland that I've passed many times before on my walk into downtown. The wheelchairs in the window made it stuck out as the "old people's store" in my head. They had to have a donut cushion! And they did. Healthcare & Rehab Specialties is run by Karen and Murray. Murray was the one helping me out with the donut cushion. "How big is your friend's behind?" Murray asked quite seriously. I've never measured. "Normal?" Came my reply. How do you give an approximation of the size of your roommate's ass? "You know what? If it would fit me, it would also fit her," was my final answer. No need to call a friend! As he rung up our purchase (it shows up as the "invalid cushion" on the receipt), Murray informed me that they were not so much a store just for the old and the not-so-mobile, they also carried massage supplies, exercise balls, dyna-bands and a variety of other healthcare supplies. Who would've thunk?? If it hadn't been for a bruised tailbone, I would've continued on thinking that Healthcare & Rehab Supplies would be a stopover for my more elder contacts. Such as L-theanine, for sleep aid and anxiety. They also have a lot of homeopathic remedies. The pharmacy is well stocked and if they don't have what you are looking for in, they will order it no problem! I had no trouble getting help to find the things I was looking for. There is also a decent stock of whole foods, such as sailba products. There seems to be a lot of staff ready and waiting to help you. The customer service here deserves a gold star! I highly recommend going to Cambrian for any homeopathic supplies, vitamins and supplements. If you have any questions the pharmacists and assistants will be able to help, they are all very knowledgeable! I wish it was closer to me and I would go there even for everyday things!

Although I haven't used these services myself, they have a compounding facility on site, and can make up custom vitamins/supplements etc., which is really useful if you're looking for a good source of holistic/naturopathic therapies. They are closed on Sundays, but open Monday through Saturday until 8pm (not closed Mondays, as stated in another review).
