This place is a little hard to find since it is set back from the street. It's a cute little place with some outdoor seating. We went on a hot summer night which is perfect weather for Vietnamese food. We started with the shrimp summer Rolls which were very fresh. We had the Bun Bo Saigon (rice noodles with lettuce and veggies and beef with fish sauce based sauce). We also had the Bun Cha Ha Noi (grilled meat with rice noodles and veggies). Everything was delicious. Add two Vietnamese beers and our bill was just under 24 EUR. It took awhile for someone to take our order but once she did our food arrived quickly. read more

Just wow. The place is so full of plants, hanging lamps, small details reminding Vietnam, wooden furniture and a tranquil vibe just round the corner of one of the busiest street food neighborhoods. We ordered the shrimp rolls and the exotic salad, they were both super delicious and fresh. Then we had two main courses, one chicken and one tofu (for vegetarians, pretty much all the menu can be turned into a tofu-fetish meal), based on a sweet and sour exotic fruits sauce and a coconut one. Abundant dishes and flavours you can't find easily in European cuisines. That's what we like! We both loved the ambient and the food made us squeak of joy all night! We stopped in here after walking most of the morning, so we were very hungry which always skews your opinion of a place. Nonetheless, it was removed from the road and because we ate between normal meal hours, we had the place basically to ourselves! A quiet outdoor courtyard, two levels, and overall impressive atmosphere contributed to our positive experience. I had one of the weekly specials, Tom Xao, which was shrimp with veggies, meant to be a little spicy. The spice level was not much, but I have come to be used to that in Germany where most food is quite bland. It was also slightly on the salty side for my taste, also typical for Germany. Otherwise, good flavor, veggies cooked very nicely, and presentation was done well. Would go back! read more

Excellent restaurant with authentic and flavorful cuisine. Everything we ordered tasted fresh, and they had beautiful presentation. The food was reasonably priced for the portions. As an American/Indian couple the servers spoke great English and were very accommodating to all the clients. We had 3 starters, 2 main dishes and a dessert. All the food was fantastic. Cost us around 45 Euros, worth every cent. We'll definitely be back before the end of our holiday. read more

This has been our family's favourite restaurant, long before it turned vegan. One day, suddenly there was a new, vegan-only menu... we were cautious, but proceeded to try it out... and were blown away by how delicious everything was! How this place has managed to get an over 4 star rating is beyond my comprehension. The building itself is really cool. And that is where I will stop with the compliments SERVICE When a waitress cannot wait for a customer to finish a sentence before she walks away...or when they simply say "wait" just amazes me. Oh, and when you get super nice and giggly when I'm paying the bill...I know that trick. I still won't tip you. Do your job and my stupid American guilt will get you a tip. I am happy to do that...when you do your job. FOOD bland at best. We had two veggie dishes, which were basically just vegetables put on a plate with a sauce...they weren't even tossed in the sauce. The spring rolls were bland. NEXT DAY I also won't begin to tell you the terror I had the next day from the bad food we had. I'm still laying in bed. great way to spend a vacation... I've been to Vietnam, and I often say that westerners could learn a thing or two about the customer service there. It is simply top notch. We ordered number 1,6,and 10. The food was fantastic. I'd order the same again anytime. Seriously delicious. We sat on the rooftop in the lovely breeze. BUT....The service was terrible- 3 tables of people that arrived after us were served first and they had forgotten our order, and no one even noticed until we flagged them down to ask. They charge .50 for tap water which is hard to justify given the menu prices which should easily cover a glass of water for a customer- regardless it's a stupid policy for a vegan restaurant to have. Bathroom was a mess. Plus one of the waiters had a superiority attitude that was uncalled for. So 5 stars for fantastic food and great kitchen. Two for service, attitude and policies. read more

Very good food. Considering the ambience, interiours and quality of food the prices are really good. Try the sesame tofu or grilled chicken dish and consider enjoying a vietnamese iced coffee after or together with the dish. The restaurant also offers lunch menus for a lower price. I've been eating there 4-5 times and I assure you that the food is delicious! Quantities are okay and meals are well presented. The restaurant is very nice with a big veranda. However a big negative point is the unfriendliness of the waiters! I have never seen one smiling or even trying to be polite! Furthermore the drinks are too small as they never fill the glasses completely. So just go there to enjoy the wonderful cuisine and try not to have this moment ruined by the service! read more

We waited 40 minutes to get our food after they had forgotten about our order. When we asked if we could get our drinks for free because of the wait they said they couldn't... I went here at the recommendation of my hostel (which was right across the street). I got some sort of sesame-crusted tofu dish and it was absolutely delicious. I also got a drink with mango nectar, vodka, ginger and some other stuff and it was the best drink of my life. 10/10 delicious all the way around and good prices as well! read more

Tucked nicely away from the busy and "imbiss" atmosphere of Bergmannstrasse. Nice roof terrace and pleasing simple decor... Fresh ingredients but the food is quite standardized and too unauthentic for my taste... I like spice and intense flavours. However above average if you are new to Asian cuisine or want to introduce your old folks to it. One huge drawback is however the grumpy head-waitress that we have had the pleasure off on both our visits... no smile! not when greeting, serving or leaving...and cold eyes also... It really felt like she preferred us to go away. Her younger "busboy" was a lot friendlier but couldn't make up for Mrs. Moody. When they lost one of our main dishes on the floor they didnt inform us of the extra wait (we already sat for a looong time but had come in dinner rush). If you are luckier with the service you cant beat the decor for the price of the meal and the food is definitely above Berlin average if you add chili and salt yourself. If Mrs. Moody is in you should threat it as an Asian type sit-down Mcdonalds and tip her 1 cent to make a point. Could be great... add spice/enhance flavours, swap staff and we would have a great little threat. I will still try lunch in the MITTE outlet but this one is on ice for 2011... read more
