Nice-sized library for a small town (not huge, not tiny), lots of sitting places, decent selection of newspapers and magazines national and local, nice desks with outlets for laptops, teen area, manga for my daughter :), very helpful, friendly librarians, fast easy reliable wifi connection from my laptop, my out-of-state teen daughter was allowed to use internet on their computer (not so in a small town we stopped at in Wisconsin), free public parking. I'm definitely a fan of how much sitting area they have for people and all the outlets available. Love it. Thank you Red Wing.

Not the case with this library system. Their online system makes it so easy to get holds transferred from other libraries in the county. They are quick and efficient and it's easy to find where your holds are. The library is clean, welcoming, and overall very quiet. They have Toddler Storytime days and Storytime for 3-5 year olds. I used to love taking my toddler there and she had a great time. They sing songs, read books and have a play time after with the library toys. There is also a small sized selection of kids puzzles, a dollhouse, some magnet walls and magnetic tiles. There are also 4 small computers for kids 5+. Computers are also available for adults in a different section near the entrance. Overall it's not the biggest library, but it's beautiful, clean, renovated, and friendly! I love it and I'm glad to have it around.

This is my local library! There are several good places to sit and read or work, and a selection of…read morerooms for groups or individuals. A big open kids section, an iLab, and a sensory room (with tools for people with autism or sensory processing issues to regulate), and a fireplace in the back got added with the renovations that happened a year or two ago. The only thing I'd improve is they don't have many places for book displays, and some of the displays are hidden. The featured teen books are just on a small rotating book stand and some featured non-fiction books are on a wall that's kind of hidden. The best displays are the children's books and Librarians choice books, which are right up front in an open are. Sometimes there's also a table with a book display by the entrance next to all the new books, which is changed regularly, so that's nice. I just wish the book displays particularly for the teen and nonfiction sections were more visible and inviting.

Don't miss the entrance! That's also where you go to return books. They have a great kids section with its own kid restroom! A young mom must have. They have a cute room for a monthly arts and craft area...this month it's a pretend ice cream shop. Maybe we go here too often but the selection of young kid books isn't as robust. They also always have a monthly scavenger hunt for the kiddos with a sticker surprise. They also have a cool magna-tiles light up table. And a cute check out area in the kids section. Summer hours on the weekends are not as frequent as the winter due to the nice weather.

When I got my card after moving to Hudson, I knew life would get better and it did. Staff was friendly from the get go but during the lockdown, their calls and efforts to get me my books is even more appreciated. You know they are working overtime for what is not the world's highest paying job. The building is nice although I don't know when I'll next get in it. Due to Covid restrictions, there are less activities being offered but I did not inquire about the iLab that is there. There is a "Calming Room" for autistic people, which is very inclusive and needed. I'm glad that the DCL includes this service.
