I thought I had the incorrect number -it was so stupid and unprofessional-so I hung up. My Co-worker called the next day and got the same response and had to pull the information out of "ANDRE." And then got told the same thing about hitting the guy to the question of whether they would be able to get the printing done in time. As we had used them before we thought we would stick with it. Finally got a quote two days later - due to their technical issues with the computer - but really - they could not get me a quote without the computer program??! A this point we went to Bill's copy Shop- did not get the stupid comic routine - got the quote and answers to our questions in a professional way and got the item printed in 24 hours and for 1/3 of the price! We will not use SB Signs and Graphics again.

-- This Review Only Pertains To Profs/Lecturers Who Are Considering Options When Making Their…read moreReaders -- The three things I'm looking for when making a reader are: 1) The cheapest price for my students. 2) A copy shop that will print a higher proportion of the readers requested (none of them print all of them, not all students buy a reader), and will reprint one or two when they run out. 3) A copy shop that will notice mistakes they've made in copying and correct them. I din't end up using Grafikart for the reasons listed below, so I can't comment on their ability for #3. That said, for #1 and #2 AS on campus has proven to be a much better alternative. That a better alternative exists doesn't warrant a one-star review however. If there was simply a better place using these factors I'd give Grafikart a three-star review. The one star is for, in my experience, slightly deceptive practices in "up-selling" (just obnoxious) and using "bait-and-switch" tactics to get you to use their service for your readers (which is illegal). I never went back so I have no idea if these practices are habitual. "up-selling" -- When taking my reader in to Grafikart most of the conversation was them asking me if I'd like to make upgrades to my reader. These weren't framed as cast increases, they never mentioned cost, they just wanted to know if I wanted a long list of things. When I asked what the additional cost for each copy was for each of these services, I was told "I think they're the same" or "they're basically the same." I had to ask them to check for me. They weren't ever the same. "bait-and-switch" -- I called Grafikart in advance, told them the exact page count of my reader and what I wanted, and asked for a price quote. The price quote was better than the other two places I checked. When I took the reader in (when they tried to "up-sell" me) I confirmed this price and was disinterestedly told that it was accurate. I committed to the order. Still not feeling too comfortable with the interaction I called the next day to confirm the cost per student, per reader. The cost had more than doubled from about $30 to about $70 dollars after the order had been confirmed. I quickly cancelled and had my readers printed for $45 per reader at AS, the price they originally quoted to me. For what it's worth AS also created a title page and gave me an extra library copy of the reader at no additional charge to me or the students. Toward the end of the quarter a student lost his reader and AS gave me another copy that had already been purchased but not picked up for four weeks (they had three, they said they'd print another one at no charge if all three of the students showed up, as they almost never do). So, yeah, one star. One star with a bullet for Grafikart.

NEVER in my life have I dealt with such an unprofessional, mean, argumentative person as Shawn. I…read moreplaced a rush order Wednesday evening, around 5:30pm. I asked him to tell me based on his workload when he could realistically get them done and we'd happily plan accordingly. He didn't advise his timeframe, just that he'd get them done and let me know. At 2:30pm the next day, he asked when I could come pick up my order - I promptly answered that I could come in around 4:30pm. At this point he informed me he was closing at 3pm (posted business hours state he's open until 5pm, M-F) and that he would also be closed on Friday and Monday. When I asked why he hadn't communicated any of that to me prior to my placing the order, he blamed me for telling him it was a rush BUT not rushing fast enough to come pick them up. I placed this order Wednesday night and planned to pick them up Thursday afternoon - less than 24 hours - is that not rushed enough? He should never have accepted this order without advising that his hours were different than what he had posted on his site. When I pointed that out, he responded that "you never asked." So I guess it was on me to ask if his hours just so happened to be different than what he advertised. I truly thought I was being respectful of his business and existing workload by not breathing down his neck and demanding the order be completed faster. Never did I expect him to openly criticize and mock me for trying to be patient and work around his schedule. As I scrambled to find a way to get this order picked up by someone on my team, he proceeded to send me nasty texts, scream at me and hurl insults at me on the phone, and then hang up on me by yelling "PEACE." He literally had me in tears by the end of the call and laughed at me for it. I wouldn't wish this guy on my worst enemy. In his rant on the phone he proudly stated he doesn't care about keeping customers - people can take him or leave him if they don't like the way he operates. Which is true, you can absolutely run your business however you'd like. But why would you want to willingly hurt customers feelings and encourage them never to use your business? There are so many alternative printing options in the area - kicking myself for ever attempting to use this one.

I was referred here by another framing shop that doesn't do metal and who couldn't convince me not to get some prints done on metal. I came to Photo Printing Pros and was guided through the process with clear explanations of all my options and their services. I was surprised to find out that they included some retouching work by default in their pricing, which I already felt to be very reasonable. They cleaned up digital noise and offered to do some color enhancement, though I declined on the color since I'd already edited that part the way I wanted it. I had three large prints done and love them all! They were a gift to my parents who love them too! I'd highly recommend Photo Printing Pros if you're considering having some prints done on metal. Go in and see the quality of their work and talk to them about what they can do and I think you'll be very happy!
