Before the cleaning, the unit was pretty dusty, and there were stains in the toilet and kitchen that I had personally tried to remove for months. I tried a lot of things but just couldn't get those annoying stains off. A few days before my move-out, I decided to call MasterCare and schedule their cleaning service. The service was excellent. They sent a 2-person cleaning team, and the total cleaning took about 4 hours. They magically cleaned the stains that I couldn't manage to remove after months of effort (seriously, I don't know how they did it lol) They cleaned inside the windows, oven, closets, floors, ceilings, and even areas like behind the refrigerator. Everything was cleaned very thoroughly. After they finished, they asked me to check the unit to make sure everything looked good. When I checked, the floor was clean like a mirror(literally reflective lmao see photo I attached) (no exaggeration). The communication with the cleaning team was also very smooth. They were friendly, professional, and did an excellent job, honestly better than I expected. Given the quality of work they did, I think the price is very reasonable. (Some random and weird thoughts: I'm a CS student doing research in AI and robotics, and watching them clean actually made me think that it would be pretty hard to design a robot or RL algorithm that could match their level of cleaning expertise lol +1 point to the human team) After the cleaning, my property managers inspected the unit and said it looked great, so it seems like I'll be getting my full deposit back, which I'm very happy about. I also had great communication with Linda, the company's manager. She is efficient, responsive, and professional, and the whole communication process was very smooth. I enjoyed communicating with her. So, if you live in Isla Vista or near UCSB and need a move-out cleaning, I personally recommend MasterCare

Had an upstairs unit, but was able to use their dollies and freight elevator to bring up all I needed. The hardest part was trying to get friends to help me move. I had a duplex with decades of accumulated "stuff" left behind after tenants vacated, including destroyed appliances, old patio furniture, multiple piles of scrap metal and wood, a couch, mattress and more - just piles miscellaneous junk for days as far as I could see. Ivan came out for the quote, which was very resonable, and we booked the appt for a couple days later. They showed up on time and within a few hours, they had hauled off two giant trailer-loads of junk! I am so impressed and very appreciative of their solid work ethic, can-do "no problem" attitude, they truly go above and beyond to make sure every last scrap is picked up and the client is happy. **1 Star** This was…read moremy first visit to Santa Barbara. My sisters and I were visiting from Washington, DC, and we love thrifting, so we decided to stop by this Goodwill. We found a few things and made our purchases. As we were walking back to our car, a homeless gentleman politely approached us and asked if we could help him get a pair of sneakers. He was incredibly respectful, so we went back into the store and bought him not only shoes but also some clothing. What happened next completely overshadowed what had been a positive experience. When we checked out, the cashier (Operator #9088) carelessly tossed the gentleman's clothing into the bag as if it were trash. I politely asked if she could fold the clothes instead of just throwing them in. Her response was shocking. She took the clothing back out of the bag, threw it toward me, and said, **"You fold them then. I don't fold clothes."** Caught off guard, I simply replied, "Ma'am, you can clearly see what we're trying to do here." Her response? **"Yeah, whatever."** I have rarely encountered such unnecessary disrespect from someone working in customer service. We were trying to do something kind for another human being, and instead we were met with rudeness and complete indifference. The only reason I didn't ask for a refund was because the gentleman genuinely needed the items we had purchased for him. Otherwise, I would have walked away from the transaction. If this employee's behavior reflects Goodwill's standards, then there is a serious need for better customer service training. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect, and certainly someone receiving help should not have their belongings handled with such disregard. This experience left a lasting negative impression. Unfortunately, because of how we were treated, I will not be returning to this Goodwill, and it has made me think twice about shopping at Goodwill stores in general. Goodwill, no how about IllWill!
