I believe the last couple times I checked it out, I didn't really find anything. But I felt like today could be a good day to find some treasures so I made my way in. This store is always busy! There were so many people here today. And every time I drive by, there is always a lot full of cars. That's always a good sign, you're bound to find something neat here if they are always so busy! I only had one thing in mind to find and that was anything antique. I made my way to the back to see what they had and boy was it all pretty. There were a few plate sets that were stunning. Teacup sets and old plates with roses on them. All stunners but all very expensive. There was a teacup set that really caught my eye. As much as I wanted to get it, I just couldn't pull the trigger cause of the price. No one really talked to me, everyone was in their own world. I like the set up of the shop and how clean it is. I appreciate an organized store. Some things were practically priced and some things just made you shake your head. I'm sure I'll make my way back. And hopefully next time I'll find something that is old and stunning but will always fit my price budget.

The second I walked in the door, I was greeted by a grinning group of women-all who looked like they were having the time of their lives working here (how can I get in on that fun?!) One of the kind women welcomed me and explained some specials that the store was hosting that day. I grabbed a cart-I knew I was in for it. I browsed the clothing aisles and found several gems. I appreciate that everything is so clean-often, thrift stores have an odor, but it was noticeably absent here. The clothing appeared to be higher quality than I've seen in other second hand stores too. Beyond clothing, they also have household goods, seasonal décor, kitchen stuff, etc. I browsed those items briefly, but it was the clothing that got me. I left with several cute new-to-me outfits that I'm excited to wear. The prices were very reasonable, too! Every time I come to Boise, I'll make sure I plan a trip out to my new favorite thrift store.

I just got canned cat food at auction that was over 2 1/2 years past expiration date. This was not disclosed or visible anywhere. Which is why I gave them 3 stars. They do not accept returns. The retail store may have some deals if you have patience and can get something cheap enough, as most of the boxes are sealed (you are not supposed to open them) with very limited descriptions on them. What really makes this place special is that it's locally owned by a mom and daughter, and they are both incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can tell they truly care about their customers and their store. Selling here is also SO easy. The process is smooth, straightforward, and hassle-free. My only "complaint"? The shop is connected within the community for events like drag brunch at the market on Sunday. I picked up a few fun items, I'm sad I'm missing drag brunch, but I loved looking through the shop. I stopped in the other day to check out what kind of goodies they had. It was early in the day so it was pretty chill. It was nice to shop in an empty store. I checked out Ruby's closet since it mainly focuses on vintage antiques. I was able to score some really pretty China. I did also scope out the regular shelves and found some treasures as well. I was quite amazed at how many stunning pieces they had! My cart was full of them. I did stop in the next day to see what kind of new things were on the shelves. I did find a cute antique chair that would have been great in my living room. I looked at the price tag and was quite shocked at the pricing. The chair was 80 dollars! Who in their right mind would charge 80 dollars for a chair at a thrift store? I understand that it's old and considered vintage but 80 dollars is completely ridiculous. As fun as it was to shop here or any other Idaho Youth Ranch, it's almost disgusting at the prices they are charging. They are profiting off of donated items. The point of being a thrift store is allowing those who are on a tight budget be able to afford things that they need. With some of the prices that they are charging, you might as well get something new at Walmart. I did have good luck finding some stunning pieces today. But the following visit just showed me greed in their pricing. I hope that IYR would consider being more considerate on their prices. Nothing more annoying than seeing a non profit store take advantage of our local community.
