When I arrived, I pulled up to the sign indicating where I should stop. Then three or four people jumped in front of my vehicle, pointing where I should go in a manner befitting security guards dealing with unruly interlopers. As I parked it felt like they were giving me the most irritated looks. So I just sat my donation on the curb and left. Not a thank you, get bent, or anything. A hint: if people are making donations, don't raise your voice or act like they're an inconvenience to you. Be mindful of those you serve -- the eventual recipients of the donations, and any funds raised from sale of same. Leaving a similar review for their location on Sorrento. I just dropped off some blankets and one particular guy was so RUDE!!! You'd think I'd insulted his mom or something! There was one car in front of me, so the workers signaled me to stop. Suddenly, that guy directed to me to pull up closer, I told him I got some blankets to donate and he practically hollered at me, "GIVE IT TO MEEEEE!!!" There are no cars after me, no one walking up, no line whatsoever, this ain't no damn drill!!! After I gave him the donation, I'm waiting for the car to move forward, planning to get a receipt, but he was angrily signaling "go on" repeatedly as if I overstayed my welcome, so I took off as I no longer felt the need to prolong my stay. This interaction was less than a minute. I wished I looked at reviews earlier. They really need chill, it's Friday!!!! read more

Wow, you would of thought I had just cut these people off in traffic. I came to donate some pretty nice things that I could of sold online but decided it this would improve my karma. The people working here treated me like I was a huge inconvenience and were actively rude to me as I got out of my car, so much so that I just decided to leave instead of donating. My teenage daughter was in the car and I didn't want her to think it's ok for people to treat you poorly when you're doing something kind. read more

Arrived 10min before they opened and was able to drive right up to the drop-off area and the 3 guys sitting around started yelling at me that I needed to drive around the other way. Apparently I drove in the wrong direction, so i drove back around the other way and came across their "STOP PLEASE WAIT HERE FOR ASSISTANCE" sign. They all continued to stare at me and do nothing. Called out for assistance and they said they weren't open...WTH!?! I asked if I can drop off one bag of clothes and one of them said NO. They continued to sit and sip their beverage and continued to neglect my presence. I decided to go elsewhere to drop off my donation. This is my go to donation drop off site for years. But since COVID the lines have been insane. Everyone is doing spring cleaning of their homes. The other thing is social distancing, they have two lanes and you must empty out your car. They are not taking electronics anymore I am guessing temporarily? They didn't give me a receipt either. I showed up 10 minutes prior to opening at 8:30AM on a Friday. I wanted to beat the lines. I was second in line and by the time they opened at 830 there was a line of cars behind me. I knocked down the stars because it took them another 15-20 minutes after the 830 opening time to setup both lanes. There are separate boxes for clothes and other items. Depending on who is in front of you they can take a long time to empty their vehicle. Be warned come early and prepare to wait. No electronics. And please do not just leave your bags at the storage containers when they are closed. That caused an even longer delay, they had to move all the bags to open the containers to setup. read more

I have been to at least six different Goodwill Donation Centers in San Diego and This is one of the most convenient ones in the county. Here's why: 1. It's right off the Mira Mesa exit from the 15 freeway 2. It's in a parking lot that isn't in the middle of a shopping plaza like other busy donation centers 3. There are at least 2 (usually 3) Goodwill staff on site to help you quickly unload your donations 4. The donation area is split into 2 lanes so two donators can be helped simultaneously, which makes any line move quickly This donation location is in the corner of the Park & Ride Carpool lot behind the Best Buy in Mira Mesa. They have a couple of huge blue storage bins which makes it easier to spot. So no excuses! Don't trash your gently used goods. Donate them so they don't end up in a landfill. read more

I donated 2 large bins of 'like-new' children's books (yes, I took the time & expense to protect these books) and it was disturbing to see the attendant dump the bins out upside down - books being carelessly tossed to the bottom of Goodwill's ratty big cardboard donation box. NEVER AGAIN is all I have to say. read more

This goodwill donation center is conveniently located off the I-15 at the Mira Mesa exit. You'll see it on the north west corner in the Best Buy parking lot. You'll see the giant blue containers on the corner. There are usually at least two people to help you with your donations. Follow the road cones and pull up to the stop sign. You can get a receipt if you need it. They don't accept furniture last I knew but I've donated dishes, books, and a lot of clothes without issue. Totally recommend this place if you have gently used items to donate. read more

According to the website, the location closes at 5PM, when we get to the location at 4:27, we were told to leave as they actually close at 4:30. We only had a handful of items to donate and would not require a receipt, and we were told to come back tomorrow, ummm, some of us have work til past your closing hours. read more

Visited 11-21 at 2:30pm. They are not following covid practices. They indicate is self service because they don't want to touch your stuff .. yet they make you stuff it in a bin while you touch other people stuff... they also watch you do it and are not 6ft apart. The gentleman giving the receipts approached my car and the mask had moth and nose exposed. And got really close to my window 2ft or so. read more

Disappointed in this donation center. Employees were rude and impatient. It took me a very long time to get the "digital " receipt. I am unhappy with not having the option for a paper receipt. They are making it difficult to donate. I will go elsewhere next time. read more

It's the most convenient location; however, I can't tell you how many times I've been sent away because they weren't taking anymore donations. Then why are you open with five guys sitting there? The last few times I've gone, they've been extremely rude, and act as if I've killed their dog when I ask for a receipt! I donate expensive, like-new stuff! I could sell it for a fortune, but there's no place to hold a garage sale in San Diego, so I figure I'm bringing joy to someone who may not be able to afford these things or who could actually sell them for a lot of money. These guys want you to compartmentalize everything, barely speak English, and lecture you on random things like donating computers when I've never brought them a computer/electronics. It's upsetting when you've spent the time packing up your car, driving 20 minutes, only to get turned away or be treated like this. I'd go elsewhere except the other places make you haul your stuff inside. I cringe every time I go. I should probably look up Salvation Army. Goodwill is a lie. read more

Please read and avoid this donation center! Terrible place! I was there almost about the same time they closed and had like 3 giant bags of clothes and music players,pilates ball,yoga equipment and a lot of good stuff to donate feeling happy someone will make use of them.And since my husband had the car and he was away I took an Uber to go there with my little one with me. Just for the sake of "goodwill" they are talking about. I had such a big nervous breakdown cause these people told me they were closed and I had to go off the car-since my ride was booked for another ride who was waiting for him-they didn't let me leave the car saying I will pay littering fee and started taking pictures of the Uber car.The driver had to go out and explain this is his job he's just dropping me off. I was also trying to explain to the other guy yelling at us that this is Uber and and we need to take another ride but they all were yelling and walking around me saying I am not allowed .I left the car , took all those donations off the trunk and waited 15 min for another Uber constantly taking a video of the incident.They stopped yelling after I took my phone out and sat to their chairs but my daughter was shaking because she was scared of all the yelling.These people are beyond RUDE.Avoid donating here at all costs. read more

There's a guy there - who look like nick nolty - now. He his yellowish white hair. The first time, I got there five minutes late. He had a crew of four other guys. He said they were closed though he looked at the toaster oven and said, yah, we'll take it, but you'll have to come back. The rest of the men there just started snickering. I felt very unsafe. I told him I come from a good deal away, was he sure. He nodded and my teenage daughter and I left. I came back next time and he he pointed at the sign - although he was clearly there and the storage things were open, he pointed at the sign that said closed Wednesdays. If it was closed, why would he be there and why would everything be open, otherwise? Was he living in one of the containers. I came back one last time and before I even opened the van up he said, nobody is going to buy that! What, I asked? "The toaster oven," so I knew he was messing with me, because he couldn't have even seen it. Other cars were driving past me, and although his buddies were there, he told this old woman it was self serve and she'd have to Cary this really big, heavy bag and put it in the container while he watched. I drove by her and told her about the one in Poway where they retrieve the bags from your trunk. She left, I left. I think this guy is a real creepy guy. Don't go there. There are lots of other places that will take your stuff and carry it, too! read more

I was there completely on time. I had one bag of clothes to donate sitting in the passengers seat. These people were beyond rude for NO reason!! The way they were gesturing me where to drive was super passive aggressive. I have never dropped clothes off before so I don't really know what to do! I pull up and park and they all just stand there behind my car not moving. I'm super confused. No one was approaching me at my window or anything... so I just open my car door to step out and hand them my little bag and get yelled at! "You need to verbally tell us where you need us!" What does that even mean?? I've never done this before and you guys just stand there looking at me. Idk! They were all just rude and not helpful at all. I have tried to make several donations during COVID-19 and every time, they have the same reply "we aren't taking anymore donations for today." I've gone at different times but always the same answer. It seems silly to have 5 people working just to tell you they won't take your stuff. They should either change their hours or have more bins so people can actually drop stuff off for their full service hours. read more
